State troopers using surveying equipment appeared to be taking measurements from the driveway to the home at 29 Violette Ave. where Ayla lived with her father, Justin DiPietro.

A window of the modest vinyl-sided house on the driveway side of DiPietro's house had been removed and appeared to be part of the measuring detail.

Waterville, Maine (CNN) -- Dive teams in Maine will scour the Waterville area Wednesday as the search for a missing 21-month-old girl continues, authorities said.

Among the approximately 35 people who held vigil was Justin DiPietro, Ayla&#8217;s father, who reported her missing Dec. 17 from his home on Violette Avenue. He sat in the front row with friends and family members, focused on the candle in his hands while friends and strangers prayed for Ayla&#8217;s safe return. When the ceremony ended, he was among the last to leave, walking through a gathering of reporters without a word.
