Casey's Friends Testify About Abuse, Car Smell

The defense filed the depositions of Tony Lazzaro, Anthony's boyfriend in 2008, and Amy Huizenga.

In his deposition, Lazzaro said Anthony told him she'd been abused by her dad.

Around the time of Caylee's disappearance, Lazzaro remembered Casey waking up in a cold sweat and crying, the deposition revealed.
During their relationship he said Casey confided her father George physically abused her.

ORLANDO -- The case against Casey stirs up deep emotions among people in Central Florida and across the country.

The case makes many people angry. Others are just sick about hearing it.

But some people feel such a connection with the case, they can't stay away.

"I wanna see justice so I can rest my heart for this child," said Robinson.

Robinson isn't looking for justice against Casey Anthony.

In fact, Robinson isn't convinced of her guilt.

It hasn't been decided yet how the general public will get access to the Anthony trial.

Court leaders have discussed a lottery for seating, or passes handed out on a first come first serve basis each day.

Lazzaro also told Baez that it was hard to answer Baez's questions, because of all the lies Casey told him.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer says Lazzaro most likely will not be able to tell the jury anything that Casey told him, because it's hearsay and inadmissible.


Sheaffer said, Casey apparently wants to try to use some story of abuse to try to explain why she didn't report that Caylee was gone for 31 days.

He said, even if Casey does not testify, the defense could ask George and Lee whether they had ever abused Casey if they're called to the witness stand, which would raise the issue in front of the jury.

Evidence Rulings Expected From Judge

Defense Motion Asks To Prohibit "31 Days" Evidence
Casey's lawyers are trying everything to prevent the jury from hearing what she was up to the first 31 days Caylee was gone. They've filed yet another motion trying to keep the jury from seeing Casey's party and hot body contest pictures and from hearing about how she spent her days and nights during those 31 days.

"They've gone through the front door to try to keep it out. They've gone through the back door to try to keep it out. Now they're climbing through the windows to try to keep the evidence out," WFTV legal expert Bill Sheaffer explained to WFTV reporter Kathi Belich.
