I'm shocked at the things I've just read about Mignini in those links. Not for the first time I have to conclude that Satanic Panic from people in powerful positions is an extremely dangerous phenomenom, (ironically, far more dangerous than Satanism itself).

Mignini is the kind of person who caused the McMartin pre-school trial, the Orkney Islands travesty and many other similar cases.

Allusonz!

It took me a while, but I have the last song!

"the unknown soldier" by the doors!

"It's all over, baby! The war is over!"

that's especially for RS, (unknown soldier part).

For Mignini--

"This is the end...my beautiful friend, the end.....I'll never look into your eyes....again...."

--the end, the doors.

A cartwheel in the context in which it was done, is not odd to me. If you are a physical person, you might do something to get the blood flowing after being seated, tired and totally stressed out for a long time. Stretch...OK, no room to jog around, so do a cartwheel - I can see it in it's innocent form and I can see how others might find it odd. It's one of those things that reasonable people can differ about. But going out and partying, not once, but several times, and getting a tattoo while your daughter is either 1) kidnapped or 2) murdered by your hand and rotting in your car or 3) accidentally drowned and disposed of in a swamp - I can't see anyone justifying or innocently explaining that behavior and I think a majority of reasonable people would find it inexcusable and for it to show some consciousness of guilt. I think the two are greatly distinguishable.

We are about to be RICH once we sell this CD compliation!

:great::woohoo:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Was your idea thus amass your riches!! I think many of us contributed but wonder how many have fingernails left

And... I'm sure you wouldn't have taken a shower in the victim's bathroom, bought sexy lingerie, had sex with your boyfriend, and done cartwheels in the police station, she acted just like Casey Anthony!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

For what it is worth, I wouldn't have done those things either. But just because som RAG/Tabloid prints it doesn't mean it is FACT.

I just wanted to add on more comment with regards to Amanda’s “cartwheels” .

Inspector Ficarra, described 21-year-old Knox’s bizarre behavior,“I was in the elevator and when I got to the floor where the Flying Squad department is the door opened and I saw Amanda doing floor exercises,” he said. “She was doing the splits, cartwheels and arching herself backwards, pressing her hands on the floor.”

Sounds to me like she might have been doing some YOGA stretches while she waited for, Raffaele, who was being questioned. Cartwheels vs. stretching out because you may have a cramp or are feeling a bit stiff? Which seems more logical? :waitasec:

Hmm, maybe now that Amanda is free she will enlighten us on why she told the lies that she did and why she accused innocent people to get the heat off herself - bet she won't though. Would also like to hear from Raffaele about why he didn't back up Amanda's alibi.

Don't agree with the verdict and I will always believe that these two were involved. Too many lies, too many inconsistancies in both their stories. Innocent people don't lie, they don't have to.

BBM: Yes, I would like to know the TRUE answer to that ... but IMO, AK will NEVER tell the truth -- however, I believe she will talk, although not sure when.

And I do not agree with the verdict either because I have always believed both were involved in some way. The first time I read their statements, my "hinky meter" went off the charts ...

MOO ...

More on Mignini. His appeal is in November

He was convicted of:

1.) Illegally investigating journalists who had criticized him with the "intent to harass or deter them from pursuing their legitimate profession". Specifically the court found that Mignini had targeted Italian journalists Vincenzo Tessandori, Gennaro De Stefano, and Roberto Fiasconaro, because they had criticized his investigations into the death of Narducci.

2.) Ordering an illegal investigation of the Florentine ex police chief Giuseppe De Donno.

3.) Ordering illegal investigations of two officials of the Viminale, the Ministry of the Interior in Rome, including an illegal investigation of the Roberto Sgalla, ex-director of the office of external affairs

"The bench ruled that he and Michele Giuttari, a detective-turned-thriller writer, had used their powers to persecute people they regarded as their enemies: tapping their phones, interrogating them, putting them under investigation without any evidence against them and even getting them jailed, for personal reasons the court said, were guilty of "almost unheard of" criminal activity, carrying out investigations "in no way related ... to their proper competence", launching criminal cases with no evidence, ordering phone taps with "quite different ends" from those cited when the taps were authorised, taps that were made "for reasons of retaliation ... against people towards whom they had reasons for hostility".

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...e-1992485.html

Even though all the Monster's victims were shot with the same gun, Mignini told a court that it wasn't the work of a single serial killer. Rather, Mignini described an elaborate conspiracy of 20 people, including government officials and law enforcement officers, who made up a secret society behind the Monster killings.
Mignini indicted the 20 people and charged them with the concealment of Narducci's murder, and laid out a hard-to-follow plot that included body doubles and featured Narducci's body being swapped - not once, but twice!

If all of this sounds hard to believe, it is. Tuesday, in a preliminary hearing, Perugia Judge Paolo Micheli threw out the case against the 20. The judge found there was no solid evidence to back up Mignini's claim that Narducci was murdered, let alone the victim of a satanic sect

According to the Italian newsmagazine Panorama, investigators discovered that Mignini maintained computer lists entitled "Attacks to Remember" and "Orgy of Attacks." The lists contained names of journalists, government officials, and members of the Italian Parliament.

Mignini was convicted of launching investigations into his critics in the media, the police, and the government. The prosecutor illegally wiretapped phones and cell phones in his ambition to end the "orgy of attacks."

Because he violated the public trust, the Florence court banned Mignini from holding public office for the rest of his life. But, during his appeal, the prosecutor gets to remain in office. Mignini has not been called on to resign either

WOW! Thank you for posting this, I didn't know just how much he had done. This is meant seriously, after reading this and knowing the lies he started during this case, has anyone suggested Mignini for mental evaluation? He certainly sounds at the least clinically paranoid, at the most...psychotic with all these conspiracy theories he seems to see.

So AK got convicted and sentenced to 3 years in jail (already served) for accusing Patrick of the murder? No coercion, no pressure, no implanted imaginations, but also not because she had anything to do with the murder. Yeah right. There are remarkable contradictions with the previous trial and Rudy's trials where it was concluded that the evidence proved that multiple people were involved. We have to wait till this court explains why they think those people were not AK and RS. I doubt they will reopen the case though to find these people. The result is very disappointing and openly cheering seems a bit inappropriate especially considering the pain and suffering of the Kercher family. My thoughts are with them.

On a lighter note, RS really did kinda look like Harry Potter back then.

Well said!!! :cheer:

Knox said she was doing yoga, not cartwheels*. She was trying to alieviate stress. As a Family/Civil Court Mediator, I have actually seen people do yoga at the court house. I have seen people do yoga at the doctor's office, grocery store, even at a wake. In America, yoga is a pretty normal thing to do, especially when you are stressed, stiff, or just bored. :innocent:

Yep...the two are greatly distinguishable! Absolutely, NO comparison to the one in FL! :applause:

No one is cheering here. There are no winners in the end

Have you seen the ACTUAL pictures of the bathroom? Not the picture with PINK luminol? The bathroom pics leaked to the press were the pics of the bathroom AFTER the police doused it with luminol. This has been a BIG misconception. The visible blood was darn near microscopic.

Here is a link...

As for the "sexy lingerie"...

Amanda was locked out of herplace...it was a crime scene. She needed underwear. It was later uncovered, the witness that said Amanda and Raffaele were talking about sex didn't speak any English at all. Amanda was speaking English in the store given her very limited Italian. Also, the store wasn't a lingerie shop! Elizabeth Vargas, an ABC reporter, reported on the Oprah Winfrey show that she visited the store. She said they didn't even sell the sexy lingerie that was described in the media. She described the store as being similar to a Target store in the US. The security camera footage that shows a brief moment when Amanda smiled at Raffaele, was all the media needed to push this lie all over the world. This was one of the most widely distributed lies to come from this entire case. The media knows that sex sells. It doesn't matter who's lives get destroyed in the process

Actually, Target has some very sexy underware for women.

No point in me discussing this further, I've not posted in the Knox thread for a long time now because no matter what points are made in relation to Amanda's lies some will always try and explain them away.

Not trying to be rude but I do find it interesting that that it is okay for Amanada to lie but not someone like Casey Anthony.

I respect that most here think she is innocent and are glad she is free, but I don't, I think she is guilty and I'm very sad for Meredith's family today.

BBM: I totally agree !

WHY is it okay for one person to lie and NOT okay for another person to lie ?

IMO ... a lie is a LIE no matter who you are.

And I really feel for Meredith, the Kercher Family and Meredith's Friends today !

MOO ...

I think that when Amanda Knox gives her "story" it will just be a prelude to Casey Anthony's story...........totally BS, both of them. Another killer was let loose today........it's beginning to be a habit.

I tried to beat you to it. I'm looking around and found this: http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/2008/06/perugia200806

In that article, it said Guede was friends with the guys who shared the flat beneath Meredith and Knox. It doesn't say Knox knew him or smoked pot with him or anything but it does say Meredith had met him:

Guede first met Meredith in early October, in the downstairs apartment, and was instantly struck by the girl’s exotic beauty. “But you don’t have anything English about you,” Guede exclaimed, gazing at her cascade of shiny black hair and olive skin. “Well, that’s because of my parents,” he claims she replied. “I have mixed blood.” She was very close to her family, she told friends. In fact, she had been planning to go home within the next few weeks for “my mum’s birthday.”

Poor, sweet girl:
cuar03_perugia0806.jpg

Sorry Gitana, it took me a while because I wanted Amanda's own testimony on how and when she meet Rudy.

Here’s the actual court transcript:

Carlo Pacelli (CP), Patrick Lumumba’s lawyer: In what circumstances did you meet him (Rudy)?

Amanda Knox (AK): I was in the center, near the church. It was during an evening when I met the guys that lived underneath in the apartment underneath us, and while I was mingling with them, they introduced me to Rudy.

CP: So it was on the occasion of a party at the house of the neighbors downstairs?

AK: Yes. What we did is, they introduced me to him downtown just to say “This is Rudy, this is Amanda”, and then I spent most of my time with Meredith, but we all went back to the house together.

CP: Did you also know him, or at least see him, in the pub “Le Chic”, Rudy?

AK: I think I saw him there once.

CP: Listen, this party at the neighbors, it took place in the second half of October? What period, end of October? 2007?

AK: I think it was more in the middle of October.
