I am still at Occam's Razor, and my hypothesis hasn't changed. But the possibility of finding out you are like the archaeologist who spent his life studying Piltdown Man, exists in this case.

One other thing...I imagine there is a chance that with the twitter storm JR has waged, he could be arrested upon his return to Mexico and charged with libel.
BBM

Yes, that possibility of being played has crossed the minds of many, even toward the beginning in comments on news articles and here at WS.

His arrest for libel would be an interesting turn of events. He made very serious accusations and said they were based on a one year (not) investigation by his PI. Very irresponsible IMO.

I'm thinking that the scenario that meshes the truck driver being the kidnapper with JR's latest planned search of brothels is the thinking that the driver either handed Jenny off to the syndicate who runs the brothels operations. However, I was also thinking what if the truckdriver was stopped by armed members and Jenny was forcibly taken from the truck. I'm not sure of the plausibility of that, but could be another explanation for the driver's suspicious behavior, fearing reprisal from the cartel!
BBM

IF Jenny was sold by the truck driver to sex traffickers, I'm inclined to think it wasn't by force. But either way, voluntary or forced, I think he'd fear reprisal from the cartel if he slipped up when talking to LE. It could be Jenny was payment for a debt he owed the cartels, or the price of protecting his cargo or....

Let's say that happened, that the truck driver was overcome by armed men. Why just take Jenny? There would have been another beautiful woman and two kids to kidnap and farm out as slaves. ... IF that happened, and IF the whole family was stuffed in the cab as claimed.

I haven't believed his family was with him ever since the only GPS record posted by JR was "family guy's." No way was his family with him IMO...unless he's been framed somehow as the suspect.

EXACTLY! for both.

Someone is joining JR on the "Caravan for Life." :notgood: :silenced:

Who the hell is Markay Davis? Googling the name I can't even come up with anything on him.
He's a she, and she lives in Mexico on the coast west of Jalisco. A link to her FB page is on her request to accompany JR in the search in the find jenny group, and her city is posted in one of the comments not too far down her page. I think she started the whole Modelo thing.

OK, thanks. So she is the Boycott Grupo Modelo woman. We all know how successful that boycott has been at bringing Grupo Modelo to their knees. I'm sure she will help JR get down the the bottom of things, not.

:seeya: We all know we aren't supposed to sleuth and post info about this person other than JR's post about joining JR on the "Caravan for Life." That's why I added this :silenced: to my post.

I saw that this morning too, Lilibet. Caravaning might seem more important to him since it's immediate. But I do hope he at least looks into the legislature angle before heading down to Mexico. What date is he leaving?

I hope he looks into the legislature angle too. I expect he would need that reporter's help with that.

He posted on 4/28 that he was going on the caravan "next month," but no date was mentioned.

Many states in Mexico have recently decriminalized libel and defamation. Both have been decriminalized in federal laws. However, since JR’s accusations reached all the states of Mexico via the internet, I wouldn’t want to bet my freedom on a case not being brought in one of the states where defamation has not been decriminalized.

Interesting info on the subject here:

Plus I wonder how Jenny told Jr that her phone or Internet usage may be out of wifi area for a few days during her trip when headed to Cancun. But he still didn't have her cell phone number at that point?

Plus how in the heck would Jenny know that she would not be able to get any reception ?

Especially since there is enough reception areas during that 18 hr drive from Oaxaca to Cancun. Jmo.

Because I am sure that those truck drivers don't drive that route without any phone reception capabilities. Jmo.

I will be flying into Cancun in August. I know Jenny will be weighing heavily on mind. I even entertained a fantasy that I discover her on Isla Mujeres waiting tables and she is safe and happy.

My guess is that she told him about possibly going out of wifi range because that is how they were communicating, and she did this while still with wifi.

I know that some online sites give 18 hours for the Oaxaca to Cancun drive, but I think that is very optimistic. My Lonely Planet guide book for Mexico gives 12 hours for Oaxaca to Villahermosa and 12-14 hours from there to Oaxaca. These are times for the public bus, and in my experience of having taken buses over these routes more than a couple of trips, you would be lucky to make those stated times. Jenny had figured on 4 days of hitchhiking to get from Oaxaca to Cancun (if I remember correctly?), so in my opinion she had done her homework and seemed to be planning on spending the nights off the road on her way.

The southern highway that crosses the Yucatan, through Escarcega and Xpujil, is sparsely populated with few towns of any size. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no wifi and maybe no cell phone coverage in areas on that stretch of road. Maybe truckers would communicate with CB radios there. I could easily be wrong about this though, as all I am going on is what I have personally seen of the area. Jenny might have felt the same about the possibilty of loosing wifi there, whether correct or not.

Thanks for the intersting link and info. Whether a case is brought in a state where defamation hasn't been decriminalized might depend on whether either Kugar or Corona has a significant presence there. I doubt it will happen but it's always interesting to think outside the box.

I LOVE your fantasy! Stranger things have happened.
