Agree with all of this. Crazy when she said she wouldn’t change anything.

Her appearance isn’t just lack of hair dye. She looked slovenly thru most of trial. Especially her hair. Assume she can buy a comb in the jail. Put it back in a messy bun or something. But she looks like she rolled out of bed most days. And for the person asking about calories in sandwiches in the beginning of her arrest, she sure has gained an excessive amount of weight. Assume that’s from stress and poor quality food in jail. She should have shown some of that stress and emotion in the courtroom instead of acting unaffected.

I noticed her hair was fixed in a braid type style and didn’t look as stringy and messy (especially from the back) on the day BM testified. Found that interesting. MOO
Whoever picked her court clothes didn’t do a very good job in my opinion. Do you think SS bought them? I remember a hot mic moment that caught SS trying to order tank tops for her.

As to JC’s appearance, I did wonder if SS wanted JC to appear depressed at trial instead of the chirpy parent who was on her phone during first police interview. Was it for sympathy? Just wondering because usually I expect defendants to look more put together at trial.

OXFORD, Mich. – With the father of the Oxford High School shooter scheduled to stand trial one month after his wife’s trial ended, experts say both his defense and the prosecution have things to learn from the first trial.

“Prosecutors regroup as well as defense attorneys,” Detroit defense attorney Lillian Diallo told Local 4. The same prosecutors are getting ready to try James Crumbley on the same four involuntary manslaughter charges his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, was tried for earlier this month. Jennifer Crumbley was found guilty of all four counts after several days of testimony, and around 10 hours of jury deliberation.

When taking the stand in her own defense, Jennifer Crumbley shared her perspective with the jury for the first time ever publicly. Throughout her testimony, the shooter’s mother gave explanations that distanced herself from certain responsibilities -- such as storing the gun used in the Nov. 30, 2021, shooting -- and instead placed blame on her husband. Still, the jury found enough evidence to convict the mother of the charges.

James Crumbley will soon be tried for the same charges, though it’s unknown whether he will also take the stand, or if his defense strategy will include pointing fingers back at his wife...

They lock down for lunch around noon (everyone must go to their bunk and wait for their section to be called for lunch). Between lunch and dinner everyone is free to do what they want again. Lock down for dinner around 5pm and then again around 8:30pm for a count. Then you are free again to around 10pm. Lights remain on till about 11pm then everyone must be quite and stay either in their bunks or going to the bathroom till morning..."

Pontiac — James Crumbley's attorney is arguing that prosecutors should not be allowed to introduce evidence about the Oxford High School shooter's mental health, his journal entries or the text messages between him and his friend if the shooter does not testify at his father's trial.

Since the shooter is debating whether to file an appeal of his sentence and plea, he has said through his attorneys that if he is called to testify, he will assert his Fifth Amendment right to stay silent to avoid self incrimination. Ethan Crumbley also refused to waive privilege of his medical records and mental health information.

Mariell Lehman said in a Tuesday court filing that if she cannot ask the shooter questions, it is unfair for prosecutors to introduce journal entries he made, texts he sent and information about his mental health. Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Cheryl Matthews allowed the evidence from the shooter's journal and texts in Jennifer Crumbley's trial, where a jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter...

I sure hope they allow messages between JC and EC during James’ trial it will be interesting to see those messages.
I watched Day 1 of the EC’s Miller hearing and there were so many atrocious horrifying things that EC did and wrote about and talked about. It was so depressing and horrible that I to step away from it all and giving myself a break.
I can see the defense saying Jennifer ruled the household & James was under her thumb and did was she said he could do. James could have easily taken EC door dashing after the school meeting on the morning of the shooting.

The judge for Miller hearing was awesome. Very professional and in control of courtroom.

...Prosecutors asked for permission to call the previous owner of the SIG Sauer 9 mm handgun used by the shooter at Oxford High School.

Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Marc Keast said the man is the “original purchaser” of the gun. He bought the gun from the firearm store in May 2021, used it three times, and then sold it back to the store on Nov. 13, 2021, Keast said.

Crumbley and his son went to the store and bought the gun about two weeks later, on Nov. 26, 2021.

“He was added in response to statements made by Jennifer Crumbley’s attorney during her presentation of the case, as well as Jennifer Crumbley’s testimony,” Keast said. “Now, I don’t know what counsel’s argument is going to be regarding the firearm. I don’t know if Mr. Crumbley is going to testify or what he might say. So we added that individual.

“He’s potentially a rebuttal witness. Obviously, we have no obligation to identify rebuttal witnesses. However, should the argument be presented in a certain fashion similar to that of Jennifer Crumbley, I think the background of that firearm -- how it was stored, how it was bought and sold -- would be relevant to the jury. James Crumbley asked for a venue change for his involuntary manslaughter trial after his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, was found guilty on all four counts.

Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor Marc Keast said that they plan to call two witnesses, identified as K.O. and R.F. Both are students who were injured in the hallway on the day of the shooting. These two witnesses are no longer minors.

Keast argued it is relevant because the witnesses can testify about what they saw when the shooter emerged from the bathroom.

"They have different perspectives," Keast said. "And again, these are the only two surviving members of the hallway that we have confirmed with their families that they are willing and able to testify in this trial."

Defense attorney Mariell Lehman said K.O. and R.F. testifying is not relevant to James Crumbley's trial because it is unfairly prejudicial.
