Sorry if this has been discussed already, but has anyone else wondered how a person on a motorbike would plan to abduct someone...someone walking a dog at that. I wonder what actually took place at first that made April think she was 'almost kidnapped'? Any thoughts?

That is odd. How could you subdue someone on a motorbike?

Unless you had a knife in their back and had them sitting in front of you, but still awkward.

VanCallis Jr. has troubled past, ties to Armada.

Link was probably available not long after I saw the 6:00 report and posted. The announcement of the "possible sexual assault" was disconcerting, so I was reluctant to say too much without having appropriate source.

I think there is a lot of demand for info from the whole area. Hope they get the proof they need to make it stick.

Maybe the sexual assault wasn't going as easy as the perp thought it would and her resistance upset him enough that he snapped.

I think the quick discovery of her body really helped LE a lot here, I feel confident that they will soon make an arrest.

if the POI was the perp and he was on the motorcycle, then I doubt abduction was ever a goal In that circumstance the sexual assault was the end goal which would have left a live victim who could identify her attacker. Perhaps she was never intended to live from the outset.

POI was father of victim classmate. If he IS the perp, then the question for me is - Had April seen, met him, could she associate him to her classmate? Did he pick up drop of his son at school for instance? Attend school or class events? Did the perp know and recognize the victim as son's classmate?

That would be a good start toward theorizing if April was always intended to die or if things escalated from an intention of sexual assault to murder.

No updates on local media sites today. LE is awaiting forensic test results as they meet with representatives from Macomb County Prosecutor's office. I sense that there will be an arrest when DNA results are known. :moo:

I sure hope so! Fourteen, so young, so much to live for, - so sickening that it was taken away from her, and for what?

the FB page Justice for April Millsap issued a statement that April's mother did not agree to the release of the possible SA information and is very upset that the news org opted to run with that story. I am sorry she is experiencing more pain.

Also was thinking if the SA or possible intent of one is a factor here, and IF the POI was on illegal business in the area, perhaps whoever he was meeting with was the actual perp and POI left that person to deal with April. Therefore that person would be the person who may or may not have tried to SA her and who ultimately murdered her. Still makes POI just as guilty in my mind, but I just cannot get past the SA thing. It doesn't feel right for this POI. So either that was arranged to appear what it was not or there was another party involved.

Unless he was only there to assist and clean up after someone else for some unknown reason.

I Just wish I knew if LE has taken Penny to visit the POI in jail to see both reactions. I also imagine LE has asked POI to take a lie detecter test like everyone has. Why wouldn't he just take the test if he didn't do anything wrong!!

Your questions and comments have gotten me to thinking some more about the possibility of 2 perps, one with a history of SA. While it would not be easy to abduct someone by motorcycle, a young girl or woman (think Holly Bobo) might be lured or even strong-armed to walk alongside a perp by foot. One thing that may have initially prevented the man from taking April to another, private location to commit SA would be Penny. April may have breathed a sigh of relief when the perp walked away after she resisted his advances and Penny confronted him, and texted her BF about the incident.

But, what if the initial perp returned with an accomplice, whose motorcycle was parked near the trail? One person to assault April, and the other to restrain Penny. If the 2nd perp did recognize April at that point and knew she could identify him, he may have decided to kill her. IMO, if LE matched JDV's boot tread to the print on April's neck, then JDV is likely the one who inflicted the fatal blows. If this is what happened, while it was a horrible, senseless death for April, I hope the SO didn't have opportunity to inflict additional pain and suffering through a SA.
