Actually, the entire county has a lot of remote areas with very few homes. In the fall, the corn fields (which can be very large areas) were very high. Many areas of wooded land can be found. Large swampy areas nearby (I believe Petersburg has one wet area), many lake/River/stream areas. Just an old dirt road can be a dumping ground; it has happened around here before that a body was dumped not far from a main road or freeway. Abandoned properties with crumbling structures would be another possibility. Old gravel pits that are now full of water. So many possibilities that I cannot imagine being able to search each one as thoroughly as we would want.

Yes, you are correct about Petersburg. It seems that, given the invitees, she could be anywhere from Detroit to Chicago across 3 states. So many areas...*sigh*

This is very similar to the Sierra Lamar case in that there are miles upon miles upon miles of countryside and bodies of water. I participated in one of those searches, and we could have missed her a million times in the one day that I helped. (I was at a farm looking in oil barrels....and yes, my knees were shaking). All rural home owners/farmers should be asked to be aware and check their fields, keep an eye out on their properties, and be mindful of any signs such as the birds circling, etc. I hope that this message has been spread far and wide? I would think the reward might be an incentive to do so?

I wonder if there could be a special day appointed to ask landowners/farmers to search their properties. Incent them by having a spaghetti feed after, or some such thing. Might work.

IMO, perps/thugs like to hide their victim in places they are familiar with - they feel safe and have experience knowing who might be around... With poor Sierra, we know who and where the perp lives... probably why LE thought he would place her in water... though some of us think the supermarket is another safe place
Unfortunately, since we don't have a POI for Chelsea, searching is so difficult...

I keep thinking that Chelsea is in a body of water somewhere in the Monroe area. Not necessarily Lake Erie, but in a river, marsh, wetlands, etc. that dot the area. Two Michigan cases come to mind with missing persons being found in water: Dr. Teleka Patrick who went missing from Kalamazoo and Ken Gruno whose body was found in a pond within the last few days. Both cases were discussed on respective forums on Websleuths. Upon learning that Gruno was found in a body of water, I immediately thought of Chelsea. Call it a hunch, but I'm convinced that more water searches should be scheduled. :moo:

BDE, that has been my belief from Day One..... a water connection. So many places that need more thorough searching, in my opinion.

Interesting - thinking she was placed in water, versus land...

I cannot find stats as to what is more common:
http://www.fbi.gov/
http://www.bjs.gov/

I go on about the rule-of-three, but since nothing of Chelsea's been found, can't say...

On the webpage:
https://www.facebook.com/events/669480449803026/
There is a list of people who went to the concert of Chelsea's disappearance, and a list of people where invited.
about 6200 invited, 658 said they will go to the event, 188 said they might go.
I suppose one could go through all of them. The POI in the sketch might have been invited (although he might admit that he was there).
A lot of work though without any guarantee of success.

It is unbelievably difficult to find people outdoors. There are cases where people have grid searched an area more than once, to find the deceased in that area later. (Where it's obvious that's where they have been resting all along). With spring upon us, it is likely she will be found by hikers, randomly. That will not be a pleasant discovery for them, but will be good to bring Chelsea home to rest.

If you go far enough back on the Help Find CB pages of FB, early on there were volunteers and family who attempted to contact everyone on those lists you mentioned, squirrel. I don't know how complete they were able to get or if they got replies, but I know it was attempted.

Maybe BM could help send them an update and invite for a search as the weather is warming up'n'all? I'm sure some off them remember.

BM 's offers were turned down by the family in the past. Unfortunately, I don't think he would be willing now.

Another Michigan woman who was missing and found in water is Connie Snyder of Kalkaska. There is a forum about CS on the "located" forum.

Today, I'm going to see Chelsea's favorite color everywhere. My continued thought and prayers for her return to her own and for her family and friends, and all those who know of her who care for the same.

Breaking update on the case. Channel 4 will have an update on the 11pm news.... pieces of Halloween costume found.
