ah! Here's an explanation:
Prosecutors Benore and Jennifer Ewen said they believed the jury took so much time because they were debating the home invasion charge. According to testimony in the trial, Clay and two others drank vodka with the victim last June, then the three left. According to her story, Clay returned to the apartment and walked in unannounced and uninvited. He then attacked her.

I've checked every local news outlet and can't find anyone covering the sentencing. Hopefully, Channel 4 will have a report on their 4:00 news.
