KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Surveillance images from a gun store in Plainwell, Mich. show Jason Dalton in the store just hours before the shooting rampage in the Kalamazoo area.

Dalton, 45, faces six counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and eight counts of felony firearm for the series of random shootings that killed six and left two others injured. He was arraigned Monday and is being held without bond.

The surveillance images from Southwick's Guns Ammo and Gear are time stamped just before 3 p.m. Saturday. Store owner Jonathan Southwick said Dalton was a regular at the store. He smiled, laughed and hugged an employee, Southwick said...

Kalamazoo — During two interviews with police, an Uber driver spoke calmly and matter-of-factly when he acknowledged killing six people and injuring two others, a police official said Monday.

This case is so strange:
"Hours before the first shooting occurred on Saturday evening, Dalton and a friend visited Southwick's, a gun shop he frequented in nearby Plainwell, a shop employee told Reuters.

Dalton was a regular customer who usually spent time chatting with the staff, but he bought the jacket and left the store within 10 minutes, said the employee, who asked not to be identified."

A lot of mass shooters don't have criminal records, so that's not unusual. My guess is this dude was angry at something.

If he bought the jacket at the gun shop a few hours before, as reported, he was already premeditating the shootings before he received the phonecall that no one knows was from whom. It was AFTER the phone call that the passenger was terrorized by driving, jumped out and called 911. Was the phonecall just another fare? Just seems like the phonecall was not necessarily the catalyst to the shootings, to me. JMO

New Details about Dalton's Past Emerge
"Former colleagues who spoke on the condition of anonymity say that Dalton had a track-record of leaving various jobs on less than stellar terms.
Dalton worked for at least two different insurance companies as a claims representative for State Farm, and most recently Progressive.
He stopped working for State Farm in 2001 and Progressive in 2011.
Spokespeople from both companies declined to say why he stopped working, but a former co-worker tells Newschannel 3 that both times, Dalton was fired.
"He became obsessed," said Dalton's former colleague, referring to Dalton's exit from Progressive.
That co-worker said that even after finding work following his departure from Progressive, Dalton continued to show anger and paranoia it."

Lawyer for Michigan Uber Driver's Family Shares New Details on Alleged Shooting Spree


"Attorney Paul Vlachos told ABC News that what's important to the family is "remembering the people who were hurt."


"Vlachos said that ahead of the shootings on Saturday, Carol was out running errands with the couple's children, a 10-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. Dalton spent the day with a friend, visiting a gun store before picking up Uber passengers.

At some point after the shootings began, Vlachos said Dalton called Carol and asked her and the kids to meet him at his parent's home. When they got there, he told them that the Chevy Equinox that he was driving for Uber had been side-swiped by another vehicle and took his parent's Chevy HHR to continue picking up passengers.
Before Dalton left, he told his family to stay put at his parent's house, according to Vlachos. Later, once authorities had arrested him, they came to Jason's parent's house, having found their address on their car's vehicle registration.
According to Vlachos, Jason had started driving for Uber within the last two weeks, often spending many of his evenings picking up fares."
