Two thoughts just popped in my mind...

I wonder if the witness(ES) who saw the gray/silver van noticed any distinguishing stickers on the vehicle... Stickers associated with any clubs/athletics/etc... (Like family sports, veteran, etc.)

I wonder if there are any rental storage units in a close radius.... and if activity was checked on the prior days or after....

(sometimes there are rental storage facilities in industrial areas as pointed out by a local in above posts)

Just some thoughts...

Depending on your definition of close radius, there is one or two. The first is very close (within a mile approx). It is called Safeguard Storage and is located behind Meijer. If you're looking at a map, go East on Sternberg to Harvey St, North on Harvey St to Independence Dr, and East on Independence Dr to the end. The area is extremely remote. The units are fairly new. The units are surrounded by a security gate. There is 24 hour access with a code. Fortunately, there is a security camera at the entrance and presumably a log kept of entry and exit. The codes are submitted by customers when they rent a unit and the code is needed both for entry and exit.

The second units are located on Farr Rd, just off of Airline Rd in Fruitport. I believe these units would be between 2-2.5 miles from the gas station. I don't know the name and have only driven past them a few times, but these units look older. I don't recall seeing a gate surrounding them either.

WOW the tip is gone already! I wonder if it was credible? Sure sounded like it.

To paraphrase someone who works at a local business that frequents the station all the time has the week off and his wife has a silver T and C mini van. It also stated he is known to drive it.

It's still there if you search for JH name in the Facebook search bar and then hit public posts on the left hand side...It was posted by JT.

If it was a credible tip I can understand LE wanting it pulled.

I wonder if it's irresponsible for me to have posted it in case the wrong person is reading here?

What do you guys think, should I delete it?

I'm torn when someone leaves a tip like that naming the person they are suspicious of. The poster gave this guy's first and last name and a street address. Very well could be credible or for all we know he could have a beef with the guy ... I get nervous when people leave such detailed tips on social media instead of PM'ing site admins or asking someone to contact them or directly contacting LE themselves.

I'll go back and re-read your post and let you know what I think.

Might have already been talked about, but in my area, someone with their hair parted down the middle would be rare....along with the physical description that is being given.... In fact, I do not know of a single guy with hair parted down the middle....

In an earlier interview with the fiancé, I saw him wearing a baseball cap. In the video that accompanies this recent update on a Detroit TV station, the fiancé has long hair with a center part.

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - West Michigan police are getting tips from around the country after they said they believe a 25-year-old gas station clerk was abducted as she prepared to close for the day.

The Tip is still there, by 3 people, it includes an name and I won't put that here...just that it says this guy's wife drives this kind of vehicle, and he is on vacation from his job, and I won't put that here either...as it's all speculation..
Tho they are saying this tip has been given to LE.

It is posted in one of the comments on this page:

I think your comment is fine IMO and MOO. Like I said in my previous post you don't include the sensitive information the poster included in his fb comment.

And since the tip has supposedly been reported to LE, hopefully the individual will be questioned and ruled in or out quickly.

I have seen people questioning the color of the sweatshirt, implying that the colors are unusual. I will agree that orange would be an unusual color for a sweatshirt. However, there is an abundance of bright red sweatshirts around because there are a lot of fans of the Detroit Red Wings. I own a bright red Detroit Red Wings sweatshirt, along with other Red Wings apparel, and know many people who do also. It is very common to see people walking around with Red Wings apparel. There is a sports bar called Booyahs on Harvey St (not too far from the gas station). If this individual was a frequent customer of the gas station, there is a chance he was also a frequent customer of the sports bar, assuming that he is a sports fan. Just a thought.

Edit: Google Detroit Red Wings sweatshirt to see the color for yourselves

I was really hoping to log in today and find Jessica has been located safe...

Hoping by next time I check this thread she will be.

Well, I guess he's opting to go for the "Anything he says can and will be used against him in the court of law".

Reading what others who have worked for him have said about him and his actions (and non-actions) -- SEE: installing security cameras the night AFTER abduction, he ought to face consequences. I can't imagine he won't.

It's still maddening that there's not some room for the company to put up a sizeable contibution to the reward fund without conceding legal culpability in the situation. We know money makes people talk.

Flyers passed out for Jessica Heeringa

Family and friends of a missing woman, and complete strangers, have set up an unofficial command post near her workplace where she disappeared three days ago.

Police said they have made a composite sketch of a suspect but they are "not confident" in releasing it yet.

"We think somebody lured her out the back door and then grabbed her and threw her in that SUV, or that Town & Country that they have on the flyer," said Heeringa's grandfather, Roman Homrich.

Honestly, I would never go to this gas station again if I lived near there.

If you knowingly endanger your employees then you shouldn't have customers.

It is unbelievable to me that LE ASKED him to install cameras... and he didn't.
That he had a gas station that was very isolated, without ANY cameras or security.

That he intentionally hired the pretty girls to work at night, alone, in an isolated area.

I come from a family of business owners. I understand business and profit margins and all of that.
But you also have an obligation to protect your employees! This is SO completely unacceptable!

The LEAST he could do is raise awareness, move women off the night shift alone and put up a reward.

Hopefully people in the area are aware of all of this. :twocents:

wow, this doesn't sound good. I just checked FB and that tip is still there...
