Watched "On the Case with Paula Zahn" from last night, about the Katie Poirer case. Lots of similarities to Jessica, including time of night (11:30p in Katie's case), all of her things left behind (keys, car, purse, etc.) and although in Katie's case, there was video, it was almost worthless except for showing a blurred image of Katie being taken from the show. But a woman who had seen a suspicious man could not tell if this was the same man as on the video, it was so bad. She did describe his truck though and had a partial plate. But unlike Jessica's case, an intensive ground search took place right away and a reenactment was done. They also released a sketch and got a name from the public immediately. Oddly, they did the reenactment using the actual suspect, but he did not match up, due to tattoos or lack thereof.
In any case, the bad video was cleaned up somewhat by NASA and the detail of a NYY jersey #23 was seen and released to public. They got a call and one of the pieces of info was that the new suspect had changed his hair and quit his job after the abduction. Turns out this guy had aliases and one of his other names had come up earlier and he had been ruled out based on what his wife had told them.
Anyway, sorry this is so long, especially as the same person could not have kidnapped Jessica,since this guy is in prison, but if nothing else, LE could perhaps be reminding the public that Jessica's kidnapper may have changed his appearance, quit his job, moved away, etc. IMO LE has not been saying enough to remind the public about Jessica or the perp.
