Cluciano: I'm not familiar with ID or the program, but would it be worthwhile to contact Ms. Zahn about doing a show on Jessica's case? Jane Velez-Mitchell interviewed Shelly H., Dakota Q-D, and another friend of Jessica, but that was a while ago and there hasn't been any national media coverage since then. Very little local media coverage, as well.

Maybe LE has not been saying enough to remind the public about Jessica or the perp, because maybe they feel the sketch and or van may not truly represent who took Jessica. Maybe LE are on to certain people and are watching them intently.
IMOO.

Even if LE is not confident about the sketch or the van, they still need to ask people to think back, unless they have a suspect and just can't find evidence.

As far as Paula Z. doing a show on Jessica; very few of these shows take on unsolved, or even "new" crimes, as far as I can see. They seem to prefer wrapped -up cases, except for "Disappeared". I will look and see if anyone put forth Jessica's case on that page.

ETA "Disappeared" does have a photo and blurb about Jessica on their FB page.

Missing in Michigan: Sunday, September 8, 1-5PM. Featuring Beth Holloway.

This is fantastic! Beth Holloway is wonderful. I have read her book Loving Natalee, an educational read for sure, especially about traveling abroad, corruption, etc.!

Beth is good friends with Tim Miller. Maybe this event will help bring some publicity to Jessica's case! :) Thanks for posting BDE!

Beth Holloway...Bless her Heart.

She knew Van Der Sloot killed her daughter, Natalee. It had to take the life of another young woman before VDS was behind bars.

Man, would be great to link the TES Underwater Search Logs from Natalee's case...that was intense, so wonderful of TES.

It is 1am thurs in Norton Shores with light rain. I have not yet heard of any planned searches for Jessica Heeringa. I read somewhere that LE are informally searching for her when they are off duty. I dont have a post. Good websleuthing.

I keep getting vibes of the Janet Chandler case ( 30 years ago.. in HOlland MI) SHe was set up to be kidnapped and murdered by her 'friend' ... many people at the 'party' came in to watch her be assaulted and killed... and no one said a word. People who knew what was going down watched her get in the car with the murderers... set up to look like a robbery at the motel she worked at... Could our 'witnesses' have been waiting for the abduction..watching... and then intentionally lead the police in the wrong direction??? Like the 'witness' who called police on the Janet Chandler case who reported her missing from the registration desk... even tho he was in on the whole murder?
Could they have picked a vehicle they knew they could identify ( since a family member owns the same kind..) "lets say it was a silver town and country... we both know exactly what that looks like..." Could they have ahead of time picked someone to describe, but of course who could not possibly be the perp ( say, a friend from another state... but lets change the hair? ) When the whole time they watched her be abducted by someone in a black pick up who happens to be bald with a beard? And therefor totally not even considered? Would Jessica have hopped in a car with a woman she knew for a quick second? For some 'transaction') Totally off the radar.
The witnesses HAPPENED to be there... left... came back after she was discovered missing and HAPPENED to see the police... and stopped to be part of the whole drama? Got their 'eye witness' story in... sorry, why would someone HAPPEN to be there ..leave.. and then HAPPEN to come back by half an hour later? All in the middle of the night in an out of the way area in Norton Shores? Sorry, not buying it...

<Mod Snip>
I have not gotten a reply nor email confirmation of my tip. Did anyone call it in?

People in the internet community are still praying daily that Jessica will be found. Currently at a little after 1am it is 67F with 100% humidity in Norton Shores

I hope her baby boy is doing okay.

He's wondering where his momma is right now....I wish we knew, sweetheart. :(

I drove past Exxon at approximately 9 pm last night. Not one car in the place. There was something else I wanted to remember to tell you guys, but I already forgot what it was. Grr....way too much of that happening lately. If I think of it, I'll be back!

I am wondering if the negative publicity of not having cameras hurt the sales.
I know cameras have been put in place since Jessica was abducted, but still the public is the public and they can make or break sales depending on actions or lack of actions at an establishment.
IMOO.

IMO Jessica's kidnapping and the lack of cameras didn't hurt his biz nearly as much as the attitude he displayed afterwards. Who wants to spend their money supporting someone who comes off as uncaring and rude? There are plenty of other places in town to fill your tank. I don't think there is any organized boycott anymore, but every time I drive by it's all I can think about. I think he would have had public support if he had acted differently after Jessica went missing.

Greetings from beautiful, magical Mackinac Island. I tried to post yesterday before we went to dinner but lost the post in cyberspace. Today we'll go for a long walk and explore parts of the island that we haven't seen before. Later this afternoon, we'll walk into town and have dinner at one of the old hotels on the island. It will be dark after dinner, so we'll take a "taxi" back to the condo. If you've never visited Mackinac Island, there are no motorized vehicles, so a "taxi" is a horse drawn carriage. The ride back to the condo where we're staying will take about 45 minutes.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I know that I will!
