I totally agree. That is fishy. It is also fishy that Jessica had $450 cash in her purse, and willingly opened the back door for someone. Maybe she WAS going to steal, and give them the money, but then chickened out and they bashed her/took her.

From BetteDavisEyes recent article:

Chief Shaw said as of now there are about 12 persons of interest in this case, including a few who are being regularly monitored.

The other day LE said 3-4 now it's 12. Maybe the 3-4 are the "monitored" ones.
My understanding of LE is NO ONE has been completely cleared so there are still 12+ suspects. The money may really help to close this case!:loveyou:

Jessica Heeringa's mother: 'My life has basically ended without her'

NORTON SHORES, MI -- Life as Shelly Heeringa knows it, is over.

For the grieving, sleepless mother of Jessica Heeringa -- the 26-year-old Muskegon woman who went missing a year ago -- her world remains turned upside down.

“My life has basically ended without her,” said a tearful Shelly Heeringa over the phone from her Nashville, Mich., home.

“The hardest part is waking up in the morning and trying to fall asleep at night,” she said. “That’s when your mind wanders. It’s another day that she hasn’t been found.”

Jessica Heeringa has been missing since April 26, 2013 after she was allegedly abducted while finishing her shift as a night clerk at the Sternberg Road Exxon gas station in Norton Shores, shortly before 11 p.m. As of Friday, April 25, 2014, a suspect or suspects haven’t yet been publically identified by police and Heeringa remained missing.

Shelly Heeringa’s last year has been every mother’s worst nightmare -- and one so few can relate to, she says...

Finally had time to read it. Happy to see they have visits with Zevyn!
My heart breaks for her.

Having her grandson back in her life helps, too, she said.

She said she is thankful that a recent court ruling allows her to have contact with her grandson, Zevyn. Seeing his face helps soften the blow of not having his mother around.

“We are very happy we can see him and we are just as important to him as he is to us. I love him very much," she said.

"We are a piece of his mama. He is our piece of Jessie.”

I've never considered Dakotah to be in any way responsible for Jessica's disappearance. Reports indicate that he has been completely cooperative with LE since day one. In early interviews, DQD appeared to be upset by Jessica's disappearance and was doing his best to care for Zevyn in his mother's absence. I'm pleased to see that visitation for Jessica's family has been established, and I hope that there is a good relationship between the parties for the sake of the child.

I lit a candle on the special website that is linked at FJHFB. I hope and pray :please: that Jessica will soon be located. :rose:

I agree.
What is sad for me to see about Dakotah, is the toll that these 12 months has taken on him mentally and physically (from videos to articles his demeanor has changed somewhat, and it is heartbreaking to me.)
I think in the beginning nobody thought it would take this long to find Jessica, and she is still not found!
I hope Jessica is found alive, but if not, I hope that she is found, and justice served, as this has taken a toll on everyone in Jessica's family, and Dakotah and his family, as well.
I feel for Zevyn not having his mother in his life.He does have Dakotah, Dakotah's family, and Jessica's family, so that is a positive.
IMOO.

This article says someone at Jessica's work did not like her and was jealous of her. I had not heard that before.
http://www.mlive.com/news/muskegon/index.ssf/2014/04/jessica_heeringas_mother_my_li.html
Without giving too much information, Shelly Heeringa said Jessica -- described as pretty, friendly, smart and hard-working -- wasn’t well-liked by everyone.

Female co-workers had it out for her, she said, but the customers at Exxon adored her.

“The (female co-workers) didn’t like her at all. She had just gotten a raise. I think a lot of people were just jealous of Jess,” she said. “She was friendly. She was helpful.”

Interesting that it was mentioned female co-workers, as in plural.....
Hmmm....
I wonder how many female co-workers worked there when Jessica worked there?
IMOO.

I know I haven't been here much lately, but there hasn't been one day since Jessica disappeared that she hasn't been in my thoughts. I'm sad and angry and scared that someone can just be stolen away from her life, and from the people who love her. Whoever did this needs to be arrested and prosecuted. Along with those who know, but aren't telling. I believe someone will crack, someone will talk, and Jessica will be found. It's only a matter of time.

I say, keep turning the screws.

Also, in the article it mentions another female employee saw the van as well....
So does that mean there were 2 female employees that saw it??
And if so, neither one went to check on Jessica?????
IMOO.

Well, we can only speculate at this point in time as to who was jealous of her.
But the only two female co workers (that I've seen in articles) is one of her friends who quit because she feared for her own safety.

The other, being the store manager.

Keep in mind, these people are not named as POI's (that we know of) so we can't sleuth them or make anything but casual mention. MOO

I can't find the link right now, but I had read that the owner liked to hire young attractive females to bring in business.

Who gave the original description of the POI in the van that led to the sketch? I believe there were two witnesses? LE should have separated the witnesses immediately and asked each of them to give a description for the sketch. If they would have done that they might have determined whether they were lying. If the sketches looked nothing alike would be dead give away

I can't find the link right now, but I had read that the owner liked to hire young attractive females to bring in business.

It is in this transcript:

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1306/14/ijvm.01.html

S. HEERINGA: He said that he likes to hire the young, pretty girls because it brings in more customers. I just wish he would have had security cameras and -- or some kind of security in place. If not cameras, something. He only had, like, $3,000 worth of drive-offs on gas, so he didn`t think it was worth putting in a $5,000 security system.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Police asked the owner of the store. The person who answered said no to answering any questions. They`re invited on any time. We all know that security systems, security cameras can get images of something when it`s going wrong. I mean, how many of these videos do we have to see? For years, we`ve seen these convenience-store videos where the technology gets better and better. The video gets sharper and sharper.

Previously...... 6:51 AM, Jun 19, 2013
"The back of the Exxon station was totally dark. Two large security lights on the back wall normally on, were off. The back door which was normally closed, was open. This is where police say Jessica was taken and where a small amount of Jessica's blood was found."

http://www.wzzm13.com/news/article/...months-private-investigator-reveals-new-clues

And Now.....3 days ago
"Officers noted a cash drawer on top of the safe in the back room. They found the back door closed and latched, and there was a trash can in front of the door, as if JESSICA was preparing to empty the trash."

http://fox17online.com/2014/04/24/f...nd-crime-scene-photos-unveiled/#axzz303NTtLF9

So, was the door opened or closed??

From June 19, 2013

"However we've now learned that before Jessica's disappearance, a silver van was spotted by a worker across the street. He told our investigator that around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26, the night Jessica Hearing disappeared, he saw a silver van driving slowly and suspiciously around the building where he worked."

"Q: So just to get it correct, the silver van circled around and went down the street and then turned around, faced the Exxon station down the street?"

"A: That's correct, the witness said he saw the van go down the street and face the Exxon for at least 10 or 15 minutes."

http://www.wzzm13.com/news/article/...months-private-investigator-reveals-new-clues

This was from 3 days ago:
"11:00 pm (approx.): An Exxon manager and her husband were riding their motorcycles eastbound on Sternberg Road when she saw a silver minivan slowly enter the north drive of the Exxon station from the service drive of the Points Mall. The van drove behind the Exxon station and did a U-turn. Its headlights went out as it pulled behind the store facing west. The manager suspected JESSICA may be in the process of stealing from Exxon, so she turned around on Harvey Street to return to the store. The manager and her husband drove to the Points Mall west of the Exxon station and parked in the lot so they could see the north and west sides of the Exxon station."

http://fox17online.com/2014/04/24/f...nd-crime-scene-photos-unveiled/#axzz303NTtLF9

My question is....
How many people observed the van?
The manager of the Exxon did along with her husband.(around 11pm)
And apparently a male worker across the street. (around 10:30pm)
And in another article, that was previously mentioned upthread,
another female coworker, as well. (time unknown)
That's 4 people....
IMOO.

In this article from:
"12:38 PM, May 27, 2013"

"He said the names of three men, who have been considered persons of interest, continue to surface through the course of the investigation. Kasher said the men are customers and acquaintances of Heeringa and some of the information they provided to police didn't add up."

http://origin.wzzm13.com/news/article/257836/5/Jessica-Heeringa-missing-for-one-month

I think this refers to the rso people from the early threads (the brothers / family iirc) who live close to the store. jmo

Just an off thought here... if, as the article says, Jessica would let friends in the back door to hang out in the back room.... COULD the silver van have been a friend who just expected to drop in as usual... found the door locked... and left? But for what ever reason be afraid to come forward to police for fear of being blamed? ( could Jessica be already gone by then? ) Could the 'friends' who liked to stop by and hang out in the back room HAVE been stealing? As in... hang out with Jessica, then when she got busy with a customer, put beer, or cigarettes etc, out back for someone else to take later?

Could the silver van be someone who would stop by to 'pick up' what ever was put out there by ( friends? Jessica?) But they sure wont stop by the police station and say "oh and Jessica ( or her friends ) would put ( beer, cigarettes etc) out by the back door for me to steal... I did not kidnap her, I just picked up the 6 packs she left by the back door for me and left..."

You could very well be right, which is why I am trying to keep an open mind. The van did turn and travel toward their home. None of those brothers match the description given by the witnesses though.

I've driven by that house a dozen or more times, trying to get a vibe. But I'm no psychic, unfortunately. I get nothing, except creeped out knowing there are 2-3 RSOs living there.

And with a dozen person's of interest in Jessica's case, I do wonder who all these people are, and why some information is not not adding up.
