The MSP says investigators are requesting assistance from the public for any information in locating 39-year-old Kristen Terrian of Gulliver.

Terrian was last seen at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday on Michibay Beach near the Manistique Township Park. Terrian is described as white, 5’3”, 100 lbs., with brown hair. Terrian was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a dark green long-sleeve shirt with no shoes.

No photo was provided with the press release.

I can't be 100% sure this is the missing woman without a booking photo but the age and full name is the same. 7 years ago, so she might have lived in another state at the time. News of Record, Friday, Jan. 27, 2017

Multiple cases in that county, a couple of which match the news article events above.

Although the missing persons records don't show the middle name as "jean" like the arrestee, if you search the obituaries in her hometown area, you will find one in 2022 where she is listed with her full name as surviving kin.

Just a possibility for others to look at here. I just got home from a shift that started last night so didn't have time to follow up further.

UPDATE:
Manistique Public Safety Department is partnering with other county law enforcement agencies in the search. In a Facebook post Sunday, the department said a scheduled search had been canceled due to “changing aspects of the investigation.” The post also says new information is still welcome, but no assistance is needed.

On Sunday, Manistique Public Safety called off a search scheduled for the beach and township park area. Janisse said authorities received a tip and relocated search teams to a different location. TV6 asked for the new search site, but Janisse said the information is not being released yet.

-….

Janisse also said the MSP does have a recent photo of Terrian it is using in the search but is not releasing it to the public because there is a minor in the photo. TV6 is in conversations with the family for an updated photo and will post it when permission is received.

Just blur the minor out? I'm confused about the picture...seems weird. I also wonder if 530am with no shoes is ending the night or starting the day. It's really lacking good initial info - sounds like LE knows enough that they think they have a good lead, but then they relocate search teams.

The Manistique Public Safety Department is clarifying to the public its involvement in the missing persons investigation of Kristen Terrian.

According to a press release, the department has been only an assist agency to the Michigan State Police since the beginning of the investigation on Aug. 2.

Manistique Public Safety has partnered with several other law enforcement agencies and volunteer fire departments because of the magnitude of the investigation. It says emergency response teams often do this because they need additional resources and specific expertise others may possess.

Noting also:

...Police have asked members of the public not to search for Terrian on their own because it can disturb evidence and her scent trail, which canines will attempt to follow. Police advised on Tuesday that this is still a rescue mission and Terrian is hoped to be alive.

Her photo has been released by LE. Photo released, search continues for missing Gulliver woman Her mugshot photo matches. So the court records in Florida that I linked earlier in the thread with the drug and drug theft charges, with the same name and DOB, are confirmed as her IMO. Last one 2018. Unknown if she moved from the area at that time as she went missing in her home state of Michigan.

Organizers say Friday’s search saw help from 40-60 people, who each did their part to comb areas around the township they believed some sign shedding light on Terrian’s disappearance may be found. Those areas included a full search of Michibay Beach, sections of nearby State and logging forests, trails, and local roads.

[...]

What could be the most helpful for people living in the community to do is review any surveillance or doorbell footage from the evening of Thursday, Aug. 1 to the morning of Saturday, Aug. 3.

The family said any sighting of Kristen, an older black pickup truck, or a black, spray-painted ATV with a front rack should be reported to them and investigators with Michigan State Police.

They do, however, believe the last person known to be with Terrian was a man she knew on Thursday night, and that the truck in the images they supplied belong to him.

Their belief that the man may be involved in her disappearance is also why they say any surveillance video along Scharstrom or Shunk Roads could be particularly helpful.

[...]

“Anywhere between Scharstrom, Shunk/Krummich rd, Michibay to Gulliver and Manistique, Merwin Creek, River Rd, Duck inn rd/juniper trail to glen wood drive, burs junkyard, ANY driveway, trail cams, or footage between these areas would be of great help! Even any areas or trails within Schoolcraft County or by Goose Neck Lake,” said one family member in a post to their Facebook group.

Makes me wonder how many people keep their doorbell footage for more than a week...

I wonder if this could be related to the "different location" mentioned above. It's two hours from Manistique but... ? MOO

Dickinson County Sheriff Aaron Rochon says there was no public danger related to a heavy police presence and road block on Saturday.

Our crew on the scene saw deputies stopping traffic on Upper Pine Creek Road between Williams and Woodland Drives.

Sheriff Rochon said he would not immediately comment on the nature of their activity, but said there is no danger to the public, and that he expected to lift the block Saturday evening.

Friends, family members and strangers gathered in Manistique August 11 to hold a candlelight vigil for Kristen Terrian, the 39-year-old woman from Gulliver who police say was last seen August 2.

...A coordinated search effort of the area August 10 produced a search map that Terrian’s family is now asking those familiar with the area or with missing persons searches to use going forward.

[...]

The family is asking people in the Manistique community to review surveillance and doorbell footage from August 1-3 and to be on particular lookout for a black pickup truck, or a black, spray-painted ATV with a front rack.
