I think Circuit Judge William Marietti gave some of the best oral jury instructions I have heard. He was clear about weighing the truthfulness and testimony of the witnesses, the role of the opening and closing statements, how the jury is to begin -- from the perspective of innocence and then careful weighing of evidence. Impressive.
Thanks, loreet. I didn't hear Judge Marietti's instructions myself and not one tweet came through regarding them so had it not been for your post I'd not have known how impressive Judge Marietti was. Let's hope the juror's in this trial know what unanimous means--unlike the juror's in the Quinton Tellis trial.
