Morenci police release PSA's in attempt to find missing brothers
The Morenci Police Department is launching a new effort to find the three missing Skelton brothers.
In cooperation with the Toledo ABC affiliate, the Department and the Skelon Investigation Task Force has created a series of Public Service Announcements designed to get the word out about the missing boys.

Father of 3 missing brothers says they're in custody of underground sanctuary group
Three young brothers from southern Michigan missing since Thanksgiving are in the custody of members of an underground sanctuary group, their jailed father says.
In a series of interviews with the Detroit Free Press, John Skelton insisted he didn't know the whereabouts of Andrew, 9; Alexander, 7; and Tanner, 5; and that he won't until he's released from the Lenawee County jail.
Skelton told the newspaper for a story published Monday that he wouldn't hurt his sons and only has the first names of the people who took them.

Public safety training session coming to Morenci
Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks said Wednesday he was recently contacted by Shiawassee County’s search and rescue team directors to use Morenci as the site of its annual training program, which is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. at the city’s fire station.
Weeks said the training program will also be used to conduct a sweep of the area for any evidence that may be connected to the Skelton brothers case.

Police say they found something in the woods that could link to boys' disappearnce
During a training session and search Saturday in the woods around Morenci, Mich., police found something – an item or items that authorities are now saying could be linked to the three missing brothers Tanner, Alexander and Andrew.
NewsChannel5 sister station WXYZ had a camera rolling when searchers flagged something – possible evidence in the disappearance. Police are not saying what they discovered, but said it’s being sent to a crime lab to be analyzed for DNA.

Items found in Morenci not tied to missing boys
Items recovered during a search-and-rescue training session in Morenci on Saturday have not been linked to the missing Skelton boys, police Chief Larry Weeks said.
The team recovered bones and animal carcasses, but Chief Weeks said the bones “at this point all appear to be from animals.” Some off the bones may be sent to a forensic anthropologist.

Skelton boys' dad pleads no contest
- A southern Michigan man has pleaded no contest to three counts of unlawful imprisonment in the disappearance of his three young sons.
John Skelton appeared Thursday in Lenawee County Circuit Court in Adrian.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 15. Skelton's attorney says his client could receive up to 15 years in prison. Kidnapping and parental kidnapping charges were dropped.

this Detroit Free Press article gives more info...like 15 years on each count to be served CONCURRENTLY, not consecutively, and Judge Noe spoke in court and said that Skelton has said to investigators that he wrapped them all up in blankets, gave away their toothbrushes as they wouldn't need them anymore, and "They will hibernate until graduation" Good God...15 years? What are the laws in Michigan prison system? I wonder if they're going to give him time served? Why do I see very little jail time for this man coming?? Wow..just wow.

Father of 3 missing boys googled 'how to break a neck'
Bizarre new details have emerged about the Michigan father who was the last to see his three sons before they disappeared last November.
In court, Judge Margaret Noe said she has read investigative reports by the FBI and state police, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Minister tells action news about haunting conversation with John Skelton
Some of the statements Skelton made that were analyzed by prosecutors and police likely came from Skelton’s pastor who was one of the first people to talk to John Skelton after it became clear that the boys were missing. As the spiritual leader of the Morenci United Methodist Church, Skelton knew and trusted Pastor Donna Galloway, and asked for her as he waited for treatment in a hospital near the Michigan Ohio border.
What Pastor Donna says Skelton told her over several hours of conversation is shocking. In fact, what he told her over a cell phone just before he was arrested left her breathless as she collapsed on a hospital visiting room floor after hearing the words “I’ve sent them home."

A man who maintains his three young sons, who have been missing since Thanksgiving, are still alive faces a sentencing hearing Thursday after pleading no contest in July to a charge of unlawful imprisonment.
Prosecutors dropped a charge of parental kidnapping in exchange for the plea.

Search for missing brothers to get national attention
Thanks to employees from General Motors the search for the Skelton brothers is going nationwide.
The employees will use a road rally competition to spread flyers of Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton who haven't been seen since last Thanksgiving.
The Two Fireball Run teams are heading to Orlando, Florida where they'll take part in the event.
