PORTAGE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Portage man who remains a person of interest in his wife's disappearance is headed to trial on unrelated charges.

Tuesday, Christopher Lockhart waived his right to a preliminary hearing on a charge of interfering with an electronic device.

This comes about a week after he was sentenced to time served for bond violations.

BBM - It makes me SO angry that he seems to be getting a slap on the wrist for his transgressions!! :maddening:

It is my opinion that LE is giving him enough rope to hang himself (figuratively speaking) as they continue to surveil him. I hope Theresa is alive and well near her sister in BC. Since she was a Spanish teacher my son believes she is living in Mexico. MOO

I've been watching this story as well Jethro...he had days in which he could have traveled the relatively short distance from Portage to Mason, Mich and back.

Here is a google map link showing the short journey: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Por...0c56b04d86cc9d!2m2!1d-84.6004902!2d42.5821307
Those have been identified.

Nothing new on the Help Us Find Theresa Joan Lockhart FB page since a reminder was posted on 9/28 asking Hunters/Outdoorsmen to be on the lookout for human remains this hunting season.

I look everyday for news...hoping that Theresa is found soon and justice is served to "he" that deserves it!

I have a teaching degree in Michigan.

It’s overwhelmingly likely in my opinion that Theresa’s absences were entered through the Aesop online system. Most schools require staff to notify them this way as it immediately starts the process of securing a sub. I can’t say whether or not she might have had an additional conversation with a superior, outside of Aesop, but that would be highly unlikely. I know many, many teachers around the state and they don’t call admins about absences unless it’s a super tiny school or charter/private that doesn’t use Aesop.

Also, I think it’s highly unlikely that a spouse would know a teacher’s login and password or know how to enter information into Aesop. Many spouses I know wouldn’t even know the name or URL of the subbing website.

So, to me, it seems more likely Theresa entered 2 days herself. I saw she worked out at the gym the second day, as well, which seems to support that line of thinking as well.

I feel like the Occam’s razor here points at the husband. He clearly is unhinged and has a history of troubling behavior.

I hold out a little hope that maybe Theresa got to a place where she had few attachments locally (an abusive husband; grown kids who live elsewhere; a soon to be terminated job) and just decided to make her escape. I pray she is in hiding because she realizes her husband may track her down.

I hope she took the sick cat bc she knew her husband would never be bothered with the meds to keep it alive.

If the husband thought (or even knows) she had abandoned him, he might not have contacted police about her disappearance. He may be trying to save face by calling out her history of anxiety and not his own history of instability because he can’t stand the truth that he was rejected.

But again, that’s the small hope I hold.

The more likely explanation is the husband is involved. 1 question: someone said previously that Pfizer, the husband’s employer, has private land in the area. Did that tip get called in just to be 100% sure it is searched?

I hope the police eventually release any findings from local video too. I also wonder if they have put out a call for trail cam footage in the woodsy areas surrounding the park and ride.

Husband Still Person of Interest Five Months After Wife Theresa Lockhart Disappears

She was reported missing by school officials on May 20 because she didn’t show up and they were concerned about her,” Senior Deputy Police Chief of the Portage Police Division John Blue told Dateline. “Then an officer made contact with her husband Chris Lockhart on the 21st.”

“At about 6:00 p.m. on the 18th, we know Theresa left a gym [and went home],” Senior Deputy Chief Blue told Dateline. “The only information we got from the husband was she left the house again at 10 p.m. He didn’t say where she was going.”

Joan Mullowney, Theresa’s sister, lives in British Columbia, Canada. She found out about her sister’s disappearance on Facebook.

Another new article today: http://woodtv.com/2017/10/24/police-again-at-theresa-lockharts-home/

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Portage police are again at the house of a teacher who has been missing for more than five months.

There are multiple police cars at Theresa Lockhart’s home and the street is blocked off.

Portage DPS Senior Deputy Police Chief of Operations John Blue called the situation at the home “fluid.” He said he expected to release more details soon.

YAY! They are still actively looking for her! I hope they find something that leads to her location...she deserves to be found!
