1. She was five and he 200 pounds. It is conceivable his acts accidentally killed her. Although the charge is premeditated murder?

2. Re the cell phone pings. I imagine there is very little coverage in some of these isolated areas. Do you think that is why there is so little cell ohone ping information?

I've wondered, too, if she was not alive when he took her...

I tend to think she was alive when he took her. If not, why take her so far to discard the body? He could have just taken her a few blocks, discarded the body, returned back to the house, and gone back to bed. When everyone awoke, he could have pretended he was as surprised as everyone else that she was missing. I'm thinking he took her to the family cabin to do his vile act, killed her after, and disposed of the body.

My humble opinion, based on what I've been reading over the last ten years is that this was a fairly textbook scene. This 'man' is nothing more than the garden variety . Nothing intelligent about him, he acted on his basic impulses without a plan or a thought to it.

I'm just waiting on the edge of my computer chair to see if he pleads, 'not guilty'. To which of course he will have a public defender.

A lingering part of me wonders if he hasn't been grooming this family for some time. Probably not with a intelligent, thought out process but more subliminal in his mind. Trying all the time to get closer to her.

Most of these guys from what I've read, (I'm absolutely not an expert) they kill to get rid of the shame. To remove the victim from telling anything. The child is viewed an an inanimate object.

They have been thinking about doing this for a long, long time, fantasizing. When they finally do act out they MIGHT have attempted this a few times, gotten the courage up and approached the child and something went wrong. Then, when the finally do it they are in complete desperation, they are in a panic mode. They don't think these things out because they are in a flight mentality.

This guy fits that from what I've read. I wish he'd just plead guilty and get it over with.

Per Fox 9, Anderson is schedule to appear before a Judge @ 11:30 today!

Can anyone find information on the distance from her house to where his cabin is at? Thank you in advance.

But still a lingering part of me wonders if he hasn't been grooming this family for some time. Probably not with a intelligent, thought out process but more subliminal in his mind. Trying all the time to get closer to her.

Yes, even if he didn't know he was grooming, he was. I'm thinking he was attracted to the little one and liked being around her. The more he was around, the more comfortable the family was with him. When the opportunity arose, he took it, whether he ever planned to or not. He couldn't control his impulses....which is why he ranks with an animal, not human.

Drat...I can't monitor any coverage of the hearing today. I hope some of you can.

I'm hoping they have enough evidence to throw the book at him.

I'd like to throw more than just a book at him. Anyone have any bricks handy?

I apologize ahead of time for being off topic but I haven't seen anyone use the word, 'Drat' in so long that it made me Laugh Out LOUD!!

From your link:

Zachary Todd Anderson was charged Tuesday in Cass County District Court with the murder of 5-year-old family friend Alayna Ertl, whose abduction Saturday in Watkins, Minn. triggered an AMBER Alert. Anderson, 25, is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and auto theft.

No surprise but it's awful to see it regardless.

BBM: Isn't it sad that its not surprising anymore? So much of it going on that (IMO the shock is worn off and we (the public) can almost write the script ahead of time.
