Area sheriffs give update on Ashley Miller-Carlson disappearance

Nov 12; Update 1 hr ago

Hunters in northwestern Wisconsin and northeastern Minnesota are asked to keep an eye out and report anything out of the ordinary they may find. Things like fresh dug dirt, burn sites, clothing, jewelry or weapons could help law enforcement locate Ashley Miller-Carlson.

Miller-Carlson is from Burnett County, where sheriffs have searched her residence, searched the area, and conducted interviews, but no one has seen or heard from her.

In a joint press release by the Burnett and Pine County Sheriff's Offices, they said they have received assistance from the Minnesota BCA, Wisconsin DOJ, FBI, and other professional and volunteer groups. They added that they have conducted dozens of interviews and search warrants, done more than 15 ground searches, seven drone searches and searched the lake her car was found in twice.

Search Continues for Missing Mother From Western Wisconsin - Fox21Online

Nov 12

Crews in Pine and Burnett Counties continue to search for Ashley Miller-Carlson after her rental car was located, partially submerged, in Grace Lake in Pine County, Minnesota on Sept. 24, 2021.

Authorities say Ashley’s personal belongings were left inside the vehicle.

Officials confirm searches of the area surrounding her home and where her vehicle was recovered have been completed including aircraft, drones, sonar and divers used in the lake, and foot searches with both live-find and Human Remains Detection (HRD) K9s.

According to both Sheriff’s Departments, they have collectively conducted dozens of interviews, 32 search warrants, over 15 ground searches, at least seven drone searches, and two searches of Grace Lake.

Additional searches will be conducted as the search areas are expanded.

Ashley Miller Carlson disappearance: Investigators plan new searches for missing mom

Nov 12
Investigators will expand search areas in Minnesota as a Wisconsin mother of four remains missing after nearly two months.

The Burnett County Sheriff's Office says new searches for Ashley Miller Carlson on public land in Pine County are planned in the coming days. They are warning deer hunters to use caution and report anything they might find.

Since September 24, when Carlson was reported missing and subsequently her car was found partially submerged in Grace Lake, deputies say they have conducted "exhaustive searches" with help from partner law enforcement agencies and volunteers, including 15 ground searches, seven drone searches, and two searches of Grace Lake.

With the latest report citing AMC's vehicle located partially submerged in Graces Lake, this revision to the story had me seeking stats on this body of water:

Lake Size - 79 acres
Max depth - 11 ft
Avg depth - 5 ft
Shoreline 1.9 miles

No ramp access but state-owned public boat access/ trailer launch:
5 mi SE of Duxbury off Cnty Rd 173 to SW corner of the lake

Grace is located in Pine County, Minnesota. This lake is 80 acres in size. It is approximately 11 feet deep at its deepest point. When fishing, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Bullhead, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Bullhead, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed,.

Located in eastern Pine County, entirely within the St. Croix State Forest, Grace Lake is assigned to lake class 37 due to its small size (53 acres) and its shallow, soft water. The Division of Forestry maintains a public access on the southwest shore. Despite low winter oxygen levels fish net catch rates have been fairly stable since 1978.

I now think it possible that abandoning the vehicle at Lake Grace could have been a one-person job.

Every mother prays she can live long to raise her children and I worry for her four babies. AMC needs to be recovered for the benefit of these children. :(

Officials ask for public’s help finding Burnett County woman who went missing in September (weau.com)
[...]

In a Facebook post Friday morning by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office and the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office, officials said that they have been working with several state agencies in Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as volunteer and professional groups, in trying to find Miller-Carlson. In listing the number of ways in which authorities have attempted to find the missing woman, the post said that they have executed 32 search warrants, 15 ground searches, at least seven drone searches and two searches of Grace Lake, where Miller-Carlson’s vehicle was found.

Now, officials say the search area will be expanded beyond Pine County, Minn. and are asking the public to be on the lookout for anything that might help authorities find Miller-Carlson. They are also asking hunters to be aware of search groups on public lands during this fall’s hunting season and to use caution since there will be more people in those areas. ...

[...]

In the post, the sheriffs of both Pine County and Burnett County say that there are details about the case not being released to the public “to ensure the integrity of the case is not compromised.”

Hello! I’m new here, anything else on this Taco truck who saw her?

A body has been found, it is believed that it's Ashley, no identification yet.

PINE COUNTY, Minn. — The remains of a person believed to be Ashley Miller, the 33-year-old mother of four who had been missing for more than two months, were found Saturday in Hinckley, according to a private investigating group hired by the family.

According to Justin Terch, president of Applied Professional Services -- an investigating group hired by Ashley's family -- a body was found in a wooded area off Grace Lake Road in Hinckley Saturday morning. Terch said he believes the body to be Ashley's, but the final determination will be made by the medical examiner.

"This is a sad day our family hoped would not come, and there are still many questions that need answers, but the important thing is we now have Ashley," Ashley’s mother Krista Struck said in the press release. "Our family received incredible support from the community these past many weeks, and we thank them, the Christian Aid Ministries volunteer search and rescue team, the many involved law enforcement agencies and Applied Professional Services for helping locate Ashley."

This is an unfortunate outcome. Hoping for answers, closure and (potentially) justice for Ashley.

Presumed remains of missing mother recovered in eastern Minnesota | Park Rapids Enterprise

It was not immediately clear Saturday evening if they suspected foul play, and a medical examiner had not yet confirmed the identity of the remains or determined a cause of death, said Justin Terch, president of Applied Professional Services, the private investigations firm that aided Miller Carlson's family.

Law enforcement agencies were at the scene throughout the day Saturday, according to a news release from Terch's firm. The Pine County Sheriff's Office in Minnesota, where Miller Carlson's remains were found, and the Burnett County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin, where she lived, had not released any statements on the case Saturday evening, though both said they planned to release more information soon.

Terch said his group and law enforcement could not release much information until an autopsy had been completed.

I think we all know where this is headed: Victim in a new relationship with one that can't keep clean to save his soul. She believed she was doing a good deed transporting him and she became collateral damage.

Dealers and users are a rough crowd. This is also NA country with a relative on every corner available to assist. I think the questions need to start with the vehicle. Somebody saw it and knows exactly how it ended up in the Lake and who put it there.

Four young children left without a mother... :(:(:(:(

MOO
Appears the victim was recovered near the area she was last seen in or the Lake Lena community near Hinckley. How sad for the 4 children she left behind. RIP Ashley. :(

Rest in gentle peace, Ashley !

My deepest condolences to all who loved her, especially her children.

May justice if applicable follow swiftly ; and I think there was foul play -- as I do not believe she'd leave her children. :(
