Maybe foul play, but just as likely he had been drinking and got disoriented walking home in the dark.

Could be...I don't know much about the currents and how far a body could travel but if this is him, the body was recovered over 6 miles from the gas station and approx. 8 miles from the bar he was at. That seems like a long ways to me. MOO.

It's been 3 weeks. Seems entirely possible to me, if there's any current at all.

IF its him - I'm not thinking he didn't accidentally ended up in the river. Too far to just wander to from the gas station. I've biked it before, at least the route I'd guess he took. MOO

I've never attempted to walk from Fridley or Mounds View to the river so I can't say for sure that someone wouldn't try to walk it, but I would have a really hard time believing a drunk guy at 2 a.m. would try it.

I agree, if this is Henry - which is the only male missing right now that I know of - I think they need to get search warrants for pings on all of the "friends" he was with that night. The story seemed hokey to me from the beginning and now it's starting to come together. I really hate to say this but whenever the police "seem" like they're not doing anything, bodies turn up in the river. It's like they know and they're just waiting for them to surface. Although they did put in a very good effort at searching the river for Barway.

It is entirely possible he went in the river willingly but why go all the way there when Laddie Lake is way closer. Or even if the SA story is true, Spring Lake is closer to that SA than the river.

I do have another theory, but I have to keep that one to myself for now. I guess we just wait to see who it really is first.

All of the above is MOO.

Intoxicated people are not known for making wise decisions. My sister once walked home probably around 3 miles from a neighborhood outside of town along the highway and across the viaduct(she didn't go under because she was "afraid of hobos") all the way to her home in town in the middle of winter. She was drunk and thankfully we didn't have to make a thread for her. She is educated and intelligent but add alcohol and she makes poor decisions. If the body is in the river I could see it being an accident from disorientation, however the friends seem a little shady and I would definitely investigate further if the body is him.

No matter how drunk you are, you just aren't going to accidentally walk in the opposite direction across a busy road into industrial areas and fall into the Mississippi IMO.

Here is a copy of the Sheriff's Dept Press Release:

Hopefully one of these reporters will put two and two together.

A search is scheduled today at POVs at 10am CST and a "breaking development" will be announced.

If you are black out drunk, you could end up in another state and have no idea how you got there. Getting turned around on a walk you normally drive, happens every day.

Ok, I admit. A few months ago I walked home from the bar drunk. It was a little over 3 miles and took me about an hour. I didn't want to wake my husband up, wake the kids up to come get me because I made poor choices by drinking too much. (I thought I made the right choice by leaving my car there :) )

Hindsight, I should have called since I had to cross a bridge with no shoulder, BUT, I can tell you I was pretty coherent about a mile into it and would have known by then if I was going the wrong way.

Henry McCabe's wife was in CA when Henry disappeared on Labor Day. He apparently called her and must have told her he was out with friends and was dropped off at a Super America in Fridley, MN, a northern suburb of the Twin Cities. Now, it has been confirmed the last cell ping was in New Brighton, MN, another northern suburb. Depending on where the SA is located, perhaps the two are 5 miles apart. How could he not know he was not at a SA?

According to the FB page for Henry new info from LE indicates his phone pinged about 3 miles from the SA he had supposedly been dropped off at. Walking to the new possible area would be much more plausible than the river.

It's interesting that nothing is being said about the body found in the river....at least as of yet.

Even with those pings I still wonder if it's him in the river. Too coincidental. Very curious as RI why they would lie about where they dropped him off. Unless of course they are telling the truth and he walked there thinking he was walking home.

But, I've been wrong more times than I've been right.

that is in New Brighton - not what I was expecting. It's like the Bermuda triangle IMO. Thank God for volunteers.

Also - so we know if he was drunk according to his friend?

I haven't read anywhere if they've said he was or not.

I didn't see that coming either, but it's not too far from his house. It's actually believable that he was trying to walk home and went South instead of North on Silver Lake road.

This article has been updated with a bit about the search and sums up what we know so far:

I created a map here showing the points of interest, call location and the nearby cell towers.

From the KARE11 article, this is interesting:

Mounds View police say they have requested financial and other documents link to McCabe.

The friend who dropped him off at the gas staion, WPK says people have been attacking him on social media.

"I am willing, even if it cost me to pay for it to take a lie detector test," he said. "I have no motive. I do not want to hurt Henry or anyone."

Kennedy alleges prior to September 6, he and McCabe never hung out. Kennedy alleges McCabe knew about him "from back home" in Liberia. Prior to moving to Minnesota, Kennedy said was a well-known basketball player in Liberia. Kennedy may have been the last person to see McCabe.

"I wish I had never given him a ride with all that is going on. I wish I never did," Kennedy said. "We were not friends, more like acquaintances."

I think WPK was saying that people have been attacking WPK on social media.
Maybe that's what you meant to say too.
