I will say I certainly did not feel good about speculating that an innocent little lost 6 year old boy had turned into a child molestor. I don't understand how you can think someone is stealing firewood but don't hear a helicopter. Helicopters are loud, especially when you live in a rural community.

It's hard to read Patty's letters to Jacob. I was around 14 when this happened but I remember seeing the story on 20/20 or some news show like that. I remember some kid called the hotline and said he had hurt Jacob. It still makes me mad that someone was so cruel to call like that, no matter what age they were.

I may hear a helicoptor but I don't pay any attention to it because I would assume it was a life flight or something like that. - Low thumping wouldn't be enough to wake me up either.

However, if I saw a flashlight near my wood pile, you can bet I will take a second look and call the police from the safety of my house. Wood for wood heaters is very important if you depend on it to heat your house. My wood pile for this winter was valued around $1200 by the end of October. (Cost of wood + Labor).

You're right. Jackie with FAS didn't commit this sophisticated crime. People with low IQs and severe ADHD don't have the mental ability to plan such a crime, leave zero evidence at the crime scene, hide all the body's remains/clothing from the FBI and local LE, never reveal any incriminating clues, and never brag about the crime for 28 years. Whoever disappeared Jacob has a normal or above normal IQ and doesn't have the facial features of someone with organic brain disease from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

I , too, have a woodpile. Hm. How, pray tell, would someone move hundreds of pounds of wood without a nice pickup truck? Anyone can find a few sticks of wood out in the country. To think someone would drive up by a home to steal a woodpile is very very strange thinking.

For a teacher to be concerned about a woodpile and not a missing child on HIS property strains my brain

human, I think from reading the article from Joy's blog, DR claimed he didn't know about the abduction until after he called 911 seeing people around his woodpile (around 10pm). I can't find my post, it may have been deleted. I am pretty sure he went outside after the 911 call, talked to the sheriff's deputy, checked outbuildings and then went to bed. I don't know if I would be able to sleep if a child went missing on/near my property.

Dan stated that when he saw the flashlights at his woodpile, he turned off his light. When you turn off your indoor light, people outside in the darkness can't see what is occurring in your home.

What was Dan trying to hide inside his home? A little boy tied to a chair or a bed?

And honestly....not to get all sentimental, but most teachers CARE about kids. That's why they teach because they enjoy helping students. So especially for a TEACHER to hear that a child was kidnapped near his property and he goes back to BED?? And it's not worth his time??? Absurd. Even if he's completely innocent in this case, what the hell is wrong with him?!

I believe DR's 911 call was at 11:23pm, meaning the chopper was in the air for about 45 minutes before he was awoken by his barking dog. DR told a reporter he slept through the sirens (if there were any, they may have been shut off after officers turned onto 91st ave, in all fairness) and the helicopter, and Kevin driving through his yard.

Highly unlikely, IMO.

I was reading a book about the Busch family who started Budweiser. Tragic. Many of the breweries were started by Germans. Pabst, Schlitz, etc.

I wonder if alcohol abuse has anything to do with so many child abuse issues in that area? Minnesota, I think is number two for alcohol abuse with Wisconsin as number 1.

Duane Allen Hart was ARRESTED for the crimes in Paynesville. DAH did not abduct boys. He molested little boys (whom he had groomed for sex by buying them toys and booze). They TESTIFIED AGAINST HIM.
