No, there's nothing in there about motive. I just am reading between the lines - it's odd that he would state it that way. He discovered a Mexican female on the ladder to his pool. I'm thinking this isn't about sexual assault or premeditation - this is about a property fanatic and a bit of a racist.

IMO the "mexican female" was legalese by the officer.

just as they say "vehicle" in affidavits instead of car. SM probably said he saw BR there but in the affidavit they described BR to show that it is probable cause.

A couple pages back some were saying that he was angry she was there, and I got the impression then that they had read something about that. Plus there had been a post saying that SM had signed a statement, so I thought there was something I hadn't read. I can't even find that last post now, so I dunno... but I'm going to go with what you're saying and assume it's just speculation.

Yes, they were...and I had gone to reread the affidavit because I thought I had missed something. :waitasec:

We don't know the type of vehicle SM owns. I was trying to find out if he actually owns a white van and the purpose of the search early on regarding the white van.

As I read some of the posts, it appears perhaps a white van was spotted in the area.

I am trying to figure out how they got to SM in the first place and was it via a vehicle etc.

One of the many early leads in the case included the investigation of two vans that were seen in the area before Breeann's disappearance. The driver of one of the vehicles had been brought in for questioning by Senath police but has since been released, and the sheriff said today officials are no longer interested in the vans.

Don't know if this helps...

Patty ~ One of the articles after he was arrested had an interview with a neighbor who said that his wife and kids came home from vacation and he was acting strangely. According to rumor, the wife called the police and he was taken in that night.

@JeannaT Thanks for reading between the lines. That's what websleuth is all about. If we were to wait for every piece of evidence to come out in the news, why bother???? We could just read the news LOL.
ITA with your theory BTW...

The tragedy also has unified a town where the growing number of Latino residents has caused a sense of division, she said.

"You know how it is: You work, you come home, you associate with the people you've always associated with," Miller said. But since Breeann's disappearance, she said, "Everybody stands together. The rescue effort brought everybody out, including people from the next town. I made everybody know that a child is just a a child."

I'm still thinking it's a hate crime. Apparently there was tension if a neighbor made it a point to mention... MOO
Rumor on FB said he lost his job from some bomb threat? That sounds like an anti-establishment threat and a man who was perhaps tired of minorities getting his jobs/moving to his neighborhood ... blah, blah, blah. You know how the rhetoric goes. No need to document the ignorance some feel.

ETA : BBM
Why would the neighbor have to MAKE everyone know a child is just a child?? Sounds like some really racist attitudes to me...

99.9% of racists aren't murderers and the .1% who are wouldn't dream of killing a 3 year old, no matter how much they talk. IOW racist attitudes in an area are unlikely to lead to a child murder at least of one so young (teens yes in a fight)

I would bet my house that this is sexually motivated.

OMG-reading the affidavit is just heartbreaking...poor sweet little Breeann..

I am not buying this pool ladder story either...my thoughts are perhaps he did take or lure her into the house for sexual purposes, and then while "doing it" Breeann could hear her family calling for her and began to scream (thus the need for the garbage bag to quiet her ???) How horrible to think the poor little baby could have been right there being abused/murdered while her family was just outside searching! That Bas&%%@d!!

I'm looking up pics of the floodway ditches. There sure is one holy heck of a lot of foliage along the sides. This search must be quite an endeavor.

I don't think she is in the water. If I had to guess, she's out by the training wheels somewhere.

ETA: LE has tried VERY hard with the techniques used at the river(s) to locate her. Look downstairs.

While the brush where the training wheels were found was thick, it would be much easier to find a child in the brush than in a moving body of water - the water is also going to destroy evidence faster.

Anyone know the average water temps in the area? It takes awhile for a body to rise in cold water, but if she is there and not weighed down, her body should come to the surface.

Iirc, LE did say in a news report, they were searching the area where the found the wheels because of an odor. So I think that area was searched.

I cannot wrap my head around this SOB who killed this baby, removed the training wheels from her bike, dumped the bike and little body in the water and later planted the training wheels (and something else?). LE said the evidence went in a circle (ie; nowhere) when the training wheels were found. How do these cretins come up with the things they do? Not in my wildest imagination could I try to "fake a crime scene" or plant evidence or whatever the hades he was trying to do!!

I've been out this morning and trying to catch up. I may be missing some information (if so, please fill me in!), but if he did not sexually molest her, then my guess is this may be a hate crime and maybe racially motivated (e.g., "How dare a Hispanic little girl get in my swimming pool!"). :(

Thoughts? Again, this is JMHO and something that crossed my mind. I can't imagine any other motive for killing a child "just because", if there is no sexual molestation. Hope this makes sense.

ETA: Looks like deelytful1 and I posted similar thoughts at the same time.

It might be a hate crime, a kidnapping, a sexual molestation, a murder, etc...it's only his word right now and until sweet Breeanna's body is recovered and the ME gives a report, that's all it is...his disgusting word.:banghead:

I'm sure this is not the first time for this despicable example of a human to have done any of the above before. It usually takes other acts to build up to the taking of a life...and from his account of poor Breeanna taking an hour to die while being suffocated with a plastic bag takes some kind of evil.

Well, that's what WS is all about right? The world, too! Differences.. differing opinions, differing ways of thinking about things, different cultures, different races & different ideas.

I am pretty angry over all this. I really have no nice words. I know that in a community like that one, so close together you might know your neighbor's. I only know a few of my close neighbor's just a casual hello. Maybe these families were not familiar with each other. I still can not imagine no one seeing her go into his yard or house. They are so close together. The houses I mean.

I can easily believe that she would ride down his driveway and go into the backyard. I think she was looking for the kids who were usually playing there. Not sure about the whole ladder story, but I do believe she may have asked him where the kids were. I also believe that he abused her sexually before he suffocated her. Otherwise, why kill her?

Don't property fanatics usually have something worth protecting? If the Google map photos are an indication of his property - his yard is undeveloped (no grass, plants etc) we had a set of "yard nazi's" three doors down when I was growing up, the yard was always perfect and they would threaten to call the cops when we roller skated past on the street! But they never killed any kids to the best of my knowledge.

He maybe a bit of a racist but I still think he lured that baby into his house for evil purposes before he murdered her.
