I don't see stereotyping being an issue here.

I think the way LE has said this played out is the issue here.
From what we have been told, I would think it was drug related or gang related whether the family was red, yellow, black, white, purple, or pink.

Well, since I am a self proclaimed, very proud "red neck hillbilly" I find it a very nice thing to say.

But, since we are talking about this case, saying the family is Hispanic is a fact. It may or may not be related to the crime depending on what exactly happened and if the family was involved in a gang or drug ring that has Hispanic ties.

Missouri is known as the meth capital of the US. That said, none of the "person with the same name as the father" court charges has been drug related outside of the DUI.

I also think the charges would have noted if he was an illegal alien. He is a non-English speaker who happens to have a Hispanic surname. Yes, there are local gangs of both the Hispanic and Asian communities. There is a large Vietnamese population. They have a Marian Days festival with over 60,000 coming from all over for the three day gathering with many camping on the Catholic Church lawn.

Do you remember little Rowan Ford? She lived maybe 20 miles away. A very different type family more red neck hillbilly than anything. Many Native Americans tribes nearby also. Just saying you can't really stereotype the area or population.

That is a possiblity - the Casinos. There was a girl that went missing from Downstream not long ago.

Far and away, the Asian gang issue is more pronounced, and more brutal. No disagreement about the meth issue - lots of it going on for sure. Lots of places to hide it. The immigration issue - well that issue is no longer to be dealt with by conventional LE. If or when ICE gets a call, that issue, if it exists, will be dealt with. At this point in time, the immigration issue is not a concern, the child is.

ETA - I will never forget Rowan Ford.

I don't have access to local television, so don't know if they're showing a presser here in mid-mo...
 
Nothing live. I'll keep checking the Joplin Globe. Heavy snow is in the forecast.
 
Yeah, I can't find anything. But, I'm on my phone and sometimes it's hard to find things on it.

Eddie Salazar Sr., the father of missing eight-month-old, Eddie Alegandro Salazar Jr., has been arrested by the Carthage Police Department for filing a false police report.

During the investigation of Salazar Sr.'s report of his child's kidnapping it was determined that he lied to investigators, providing information implicating individuals not involved in his child's disappearance.

Other details provided by Salazar Sr., yet unreleased, have proven to be untrue.

Salazar Sr.'s record includes felony charges of 2nd degree robbery and 1st degree property damage along with various other misdemeanors.

As of now the child has not been located. An extensive search is still underway with efforts concentrated east of Carthage, near County Road 90 and Ivory.

The child's mother, Yadira Aguilar, is currently cooperating with investigators.

I was still refreshing the Joplin Globe when I came back to find this news. Thanks, wfgodot. This doesn't exactly bring a sigh of relief, does it?
 
So he beat the h3ll out of himself? Or had somebody do it for him.

I think LE can tell if injuries are self inflicted most of the time.

I'm assuming this info was gained by media through the presser. They announced this presser last night.

This kinda implies daddy was doubted pretty early on IMO
