Yes. And another thing :) The next playoff game after they died, the one where JW supposedly bought tickets for the group to go to together? It was in Baltimore.

That story was told/repeated by one of their father's, I believe. So, take that with a grain of salt. IMHO if JW had bought them tickets, the father would have also added "and he bought all of them plane tickets and hotels to go to Baltimore for the next game." I highly doubt this. JMHO.
No, the first playoff game was Jan 13 in Kansas City. And it was verrrry cold. We had to buy Peacock because it was only going to be streamed.

I agree. It seems to hit like a bullet severing the spinal cord. It’s almost instantaneous when it hits the nervous system. Hopefully they were not in pain and were unaware of what was occurring. Senseless loss of life. Very sad and tragic on any level.
Based on my experience giving MUCH smaller amounts, they were unconscious within minutes of taking the last hit. And probably dead in less than 10 minutes due to respiratory failure.

Before I give 100mcg I have to make sure I have naloxone readily available. And that’s even for people without other sedating drugs onboard. That’s micrograms, 100mcg is 0.1mg. If a fatal dose is 2mg and they had 3x that, even taking into account tolerance, I can’t see them surviving very long. Moo

I've been so confused over the time of the game on the day in question. So according to article below, it was 3:25 local time. Forget what time you may have watched the game, we should all be discussing the timing of events in local time, IMO.

I'm also confused if they watched the game at JWs house or not, but if they were watching nearby an arrival of 6:30 to JWs house could make sense.

Just gonna speculate, maybe #5 took longer because he went to pick up drugs.

I agree with others in that it doesn't make sense they would wait until later in the night to do coke, but maybe it took that long to get. Lots of scenarios for what could have happened.

Jan 13th a home game.
Yes, you are correct. I misspoke. The next game was in Buffalo on January 21. The next, next game (last weekend) on January 28 was in Baltimore. Still, the next game after the deaths would have been 4 tickets, 4 airline seats and 4 hotel rooms, to Buffalo, not Baltimore. Thank you! :)

Some people (not here, but elsewhere on the internet) seem to desperately want this to be a story full of intrigue and dastardly deeds instead of ... a tragic and sadly common everyday occurrence. This is turning out to be exactly what it looked like from the start: pretty basic all-American guys -- not whatever scary image your mind conjures up when you hear "addicts" and probably not even addicts at all -- partying after a football game and unwittingly consuming a lethal amount of fentanyl. Whatever JW did or didn't do, he didn't tie them down and cram fentanyl-laced cocaine into their nostrils one by one and then drag them outside and force one into a lawn chair.

I guess his going to rehab could be a ploy, but I also feel like waking up to three of my friends dead would be a massive wakeup call. I hope he gets the help he needs, both for addiction and for his mental health.

I keep thinking of Kiely Rodhi when reading these threads. So many conspiracy theories, so much unwarranted speculation, when it seemed pretty clear early on that it was likely to be a case of tragic misadventure. It's all so sad in either case, and has a heavy element for me of "there but for the grace go I". RIP to these men and Kiely and others who had one bad decision go wrong. Hope their families can find peace.

The corner store used to sell little class vials with a teenie little rose in them along with brillo cheepo lighters and baking soda. Just buy the vial snap the end off poke a lump of brillo into the tube and you are ready to go. I have seen plenty. I do not use illegal drugs btw.

Yes, terrible. They each had parents, wives, fiancés, childhood sweethearts and lifelong friends since growing up and if I am not mistaken, kids? Not sure on that. I do believe all 3 were in their 30's. Hopefully a wake-up call for many.

3:25pm PT was kickoff, so local time (KC) was 5:30pm, I think.

My 19 year old is in rehab for this very thing. He has lost 2 friends. Fentanyl does not discriminate. It is the scariest thing and only those affected seem to understand this. We are in a nation wide PANDEMIC.
My 27 year old Grandson is one week out of detox for fentynal addiction. I checked on him many times to see if he was still alive. Fingers crossed he realizes it's time to turn his life around.

One thing we don't know is that the three were actually going directly home. We've heard they "left" at midnight or 2am. Who's to say they weren't planning to hang out somewhere else for a while? Bar, one of their homes, someone else's home, etc. It makes more sense to me that they weren't done partying then if they took a hit to wake up to drive home.

except didn't they have to work the next day?

No, kickoff was at 3:25 pm Kansas City time.

The link I posted upthread refers to it as "Arrowhead time" because the Chiefs' home field is Arrowhead Stadium in KC.

Pure speculation of course, but maybe guy 5 supplied the drugs that led to the overdoses. Maybe he thought he would be prosecuted for it.

The families, right out of the gate, basically accused JW of murdering the men. So, I see a lot of incentive for guy 5 — if he supplied the drugs — to help throw JW under the bus and take suspicion off himself.

A little white lie about the dogs could easily lead to a snowball effect. Maybe that fueled some of the families’ suspicions too.

If guy 5 tells them the dogs were there — even if they weren’t — most people would probably wonder why JW would “lie” and say they dogs weren’t there. That would make him look suspicious and it did. How many people have taken that at face value and said JW must’ve known his friends were dead in the backyard because he would have to take his dogs out?

Actually, this is what I was thinking, too. Delivered and left.

That statement is so true, reminds me of Amy Winehouse. She had lost that tolerance for excessive alcohol volume tolerance during her dry and sober period. She died due to alcohol poisoning. She could no longer process the abuse and large portions consumed over a brief amount of time.

So many variables are applicable in drug and alcohol misuse. What worked one time, may not work the next time. It’s a gamble on the streets, like playing Russian roulette with a fully loaded Revolver. It’s so prevalent now - it’s frightening.

So well put. And bottom line is that people who are in pain or depressed will go back to what worked for them, prior. Alcohol is the drug of first choice for many (and I assume was involved in this case). Genetics are involved, as well.

Fentanyl and street drugs are indeed the Russian roulette of our time - but...what is the human psychology of that process??? I have theories. I use available data/stats in my theories. Men are more likely to use and die from fentanyl. Men in a certain age group, moreso (social connections? what else?)

If anyone knows of well-researched books (including autobographies) on this topic, I'd be much obliged. The academic/scientific literature can only go so far.

IMO
