A Mother's plea for help:

http://www.krcgonline.com/news/news_story.aspx?id=43217

"Jasmine was a very loving mother. Jasmine cared for her kids very deeply. That's what makes this so ironic, that Jasmine's been gone now for 47 days...47 days and she hasn't called her children once," says Peggy.

I wish they would find Jasmine so that her mother and children could have some peace. I can't believe that she wouldn't have picked up her children if she could have. She was probably really looking forward to seeing them. Do they have any suspects or persons of interest that saw her last?

Jasmine Haslag's been missing for more than five months.

And this week, her family raised the reward to $10,000, for information that might lead authorities to her.

“We're still looking for information on Jasmine's whereabouts,” explained Peggy Florence, Haslag's mother.

Haslag last was seen June 18, as she was leaving Jefferson City to pick up her children in Bland.

She never made it there, nor telephoned her children, which family members said was her practice.

Cole County officials suspect foul play in her disappearance, especially after her car was found June 20 - in a field along Route PP in southern Callaway County, between Mokane and Dixie.

“It's still an open investigation,” said Cole County Sheriff's Detective Colin Murdick, who's handling the case.

Authorities haven't given up on their investigation into the disappearance of Jasmine Haslag in June 2007.

That's why they put out a call again Tuesday asking the public for help.

The Jefferson City Area Crimestoppers still has a $500 reward for information that could lead to an arrest because authorities still think foul play was involved in Jasmine's disappearance.

“We had a few leads early on and nothing came out of them,” said Capt. John Wheeler with the Cole County Sheriff's Department. “We're just trying to shake out some new leads.”

Jasmine's mother, Peggy Florence, said she was thrilled authorities had put out this information again.

now a homicide investigation...

http://www.newstribune.com/articles/2008/03/06/news_local/301local03haslag.txt

The sheriff's departments in Cole and Osage counties are treating the disappearance of Jasmine Haslag as a homicide.

Tuesday afternoon, authorities announced that, as a result of new information, a multi-jurisdictional task force has been established to investigate this case. Members of the task force include the Callaway County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control.

That's all authorities are saying publicly about the investigation. No information about possible suspects, or whether a body has been located, has been revealed.

I wonder what the new information is?? My family lives in Osage County. I have been following this story since she went missing. it seemed the hand in the river was a good lead. too bad he freaked out and dropped it back in the river. i wonder if she was set to testify against someone and they killed her to keep her quiet?? in the drug related business. .. its always sad when there are children involved...

Just seems strange that she disappeared right before she was due in court. It's also strange that all of that dope and money was left in her car by whoever killed her. You would think that they would have cleaned the car out and took everything. Was that river anywhere near where her car was found?

As you may know, David E & his brother Stephen K. Peacock were questioned in the disappearance of a young girl from Dubuque, IA in 2001:

Crystal Arensdorf, age 20, who disappeared July 4, 2001 from a bar in Dubuque, Iowa, was never found and is presumed dead. Two suspects from Wisconsin, brothers Stephen K. Peacock & David E. Peacock lived in Dubuque at the time. Within two weeks of being contacted by police on Aug. 16, the brothers broke their lease, quit their roofing job and moved to Mount Horeb.
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/a/arensdorf_crystal.html

They and/or their other brother, Ryan Michael Peacock, lived at one time in proximity to the other missing or murdered people named below.

Deidre Harm, age 23, who disappeared from a downtown bar in Wisconsin Rapids, WI June 10, 2006 and was found dead November 20, 2006 west of Wisconsin Rapids in the Town of Seneca on Blueberry Ridge. Skeletal remains were scattered over a 3 acre area.

Kelly Nolan, age 22, who disappeared June 23, 2007 from a bar in downtown Madison, WI and was found dead July 9, 2007 in the Town of Dunn, WI. "The death scene was described as complex".

Brittany Zimmerman, age 21, who was found dead April 2, 2008 from a "complexity of traumatic injuries" in her residence in Madison. ("Complexity of traumatic injuries"

The second map link below is to a Google map where I listed David E. Peacock's previous addresses in Jefferson City and St. Ann, MO. (Points A & B) The other points of interest are where many of the missing young women in and near your jurisdiction went missing which I keyed in from http://www.missourimissing.org/MissingMenu.html .

There's sure a whole lot of young women missing in the areas where David E. Peacock lived and I think it's imperative that he's found and if your office doesn't even have a photo up of him on your wanted page, how is anyone going to know what he looks like? What if he moved back in to your area and he is a serial killer? Now I'm not saying he killed all those women but there's always the chance he killed some of them. Every other area he lived in, alone or with his brothers, young women have turned up dead or missing.

Thank you.

Let's see if we can get a photo out of the above email. I thought we had a lot of murders of young women and missing women here in Wisconsin. The area around Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri and Saint Ann, MO where David E. Peacock once lived looks like a mass graveyard on Googlemap.

Jasmine Haslag - Missing since 2007 from Russellville, MO
Jasmine was supposed to pick her kids up who were staying with their grandfather. She never showed up. Her car was found abandoned facing away from her parents house. Her boyfriend was the last person to see her. His story has changed a couple of times since. He was involved in drugs and selling drugs and as a result Jasmine found herself wrapped up in it as well. She had a court date for possesion and intent to distribute which she never showed up for.

Jasmine's mother has created the website below.

This findjasminehaslag.com website is bogus. Are they even still looking for her????

The other site may be expired but there is this one:

A thought about Jasmine's case and what I would do right now if she was my family member.

From the Elizabeth Olten case:

The family worked with the "Missouri Missing" organization to make pins and flyers to hand out.

http://www.uppermichiganssource.com/news/story.aspx?id=367062

The founder of the group Missouri Missing, Peggy Florence - whose daughter (Jasmine) has been missing for over two years - came to support the family and stayed with them through the day. Now that Elizabeth has been found, the family's now looking for answers.

http://www.connectmidmissouri.com/news/story.aspx?id=367210

What is Missouri Missing?

Missouri Missing has been in operation since October 2007. It was the brain child of two mothers, Peggy Florence and Marianne Asher- Chapman, both whom have suffered the loss of an adult daughter.

http://www.missourimissing.org/about.html

Peggy Florence is Jasmine Haslag's mother.

Dale Olten was the last person to see Jasmine.

Dale Olten is Elizabeth Olten's father.

The mother of one missing girl went to assist when the likely suspect in her daughter's case lost his own little girl.

That is difficult to wrap your head around.

Obviously, we do not look for children to help their parents. We do it for the children. Obviously, she did not interact with Elizabeth's father. Peggy has assisted other families, held funerals for Jane Doe's, etc...

I just find the entire situation, even over a year later... unbelievable. That it all occurred the way it did, at all.

I also really wonder, if Peggy has considered talking to Dale, if she believes he was involved with Jasmine's disappearance. He got pretty upset about the murder of his daughter (obviously). I imagine not knowing where she was for years would have been tough as well.

If Dale did have something to do with Jasmine's disappearance, I wonder if he might be more willing to talk about it now? Now that the roles have been reversed and he has been the parent of a missing child?

Now that Jasmine's mother has assisted with searching for his daughter. I wonder if the guilt he feels about not protecting Elizabeth, might also get to him for other things he's done?

I would really consider talking to him... if the family feels he is involved.

I know, it's a long shot. But it's happened before... maybe the silver lining to Jasmine's disappearance is Missouri Missing... and the silver lining to Elizabeth's could be that Jasmine can be found...

I can always hope.

Dale Olten's interview which causes me to believe he is not heartless:

Randy Chugg when missing from Jefferson City. He was living with Dale Olten's daughter Candice Olten at the time of his disappearance.
Look at the stories. Like father like daughter?

I'm so sorry about what happened to Jasmine, and that you still haven't found her yet.

There's a thread for Randy here:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230216.

I don't believe Randy ever went off that bridge. It occurs to me wherever Jasmine's body was disposed of, it was a pretty successful hiding place. And if someone knew where it was and had another body to dispose of, maybe they would take it to the same place, hoping it would stay hidden just like Jasmine has. And if Randy was found, could Jasmine be nearby?
