* off topic sort of*

I just went over to the Facebook page of Yust and zoomed in on that profile pic where he's holding a girl. If this is inappropriate or too far off let me know/delete my comment, and maybe I'm just seeing things and connections that aren't there, but it looks to me like he has a mushroom tattoo on his left arm (the one in which he's holding a cigarette just beneath the -?- Buddha.) Maybe, most likely, it's my imagination running wild but I felt like sharing this. Again sorry if it's inappropriate!

I always thought that mushroom looked like it was sitting on top of something that resembles a skull of sorts, a bit of an odd looking skull but still gave me that feeling. Also thought the circular tattoo looked like a screaming mouth on his hand. You can see it in two of his photos. One with child and the other he's taking a selfie in the mirror. Nose above, teeth and tongue in a circular mouth with lips. I may have an overactive imagination though.

I was just going to say that. With Jessica's case being sealed, it's likely we won't really learn much. I have a feeling that a press conference is only being done because of the massive amount of people interested in this case. Also the amount of time that has gone by with Kara's disappearance. I kind of see LE trying to appease the media a little here to keep them off their tail for more details. What I wish is that the media would stop mentioning Kylr's name and stop adding his photo to articles on the subject of Jessica's remains being found. They don't need to give his attorney any leg room to appeal a future conviction, and media influence will do that. They can easily come back and say that he wasn't granted his Sixth Amendment right to a fair trial due to unfair persecution by the media. Or that they had a tainted jury due to media exposure of the case. I have a feeling there may be a change of venue for the trial.

Change of venue happens alot here in Missouri...last case I remember is Hailey Owens here in Springfield

Kylr's Tattoos

The most interesting thing about his tattoos to me is their progression over the years from buddha phoenix clouds and stars styles to devils and japanese oni and, of course, the typical prison tat fare. We've never seen his back, but I am really curious what he has going on in that space.

His Lupo MOB tattoo is a common prison gang style of tattoo (the MOB lettering used in several combinations and most famously with the Bloods) - about 50% of his ink was probably done in prison since he didn't have it before he went in for the trafficking charges. I do think tattoos are what brought he and Jessica closer - she got the Moon tattoo from a friend of KY's shortly after meeting him.

I can't speculate on what any of the tattoos mean to KY, but his neck tattoo has always bugged me since he is known to choke girls.

They have enough evidence to charge him with murder. To get a conviction, they will need a little more than we're privy to, like cell phone records (I think they have those).

Kara had a belly ring. I think they need to be searching for it where they believe she was buried or left as I don't know if KY would have thought to remove it.

Another thought - none of Jessica's clothing was found accoding to LE. This makes the blue plaid shirt taken as evidence a lot more significant.

Sorry, I'm kind of a noob with linking but on Facebook he goes by the name of Kreayt Phayte. It's his profile pic. Definitely not the mushroom you mention, if it's even a mushroom.

I do see a depiction of something being sheltered by a mushroom. By golly you might be onto something.

The tattoo is not of either mushroom I mention. Hmmm

quick google search, for images of "mushroom shelter tattoo"

This case really hits home. I remember when Kara disappeared, it was all over the news. I was about her age too when she went missing. It felt like a kick in the gut too when they solved the Kelsey Smith case and Kara was still nowhere to be found. I can't imagine what her mom has been through, all of the sleepless nights. Now knowing that her daughter was in the woods for a decade, thrown away like garbage. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about.

Police search for missing woman Jessica Runions
UPDATE, APRIL 6, 2017

On April 3, 2017, a resident located human remains in the area of 233rd Street and Y Highway in rural Cass County. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the remains as that of missing person Jessica Runions. Kansas City Missouri Police are now investigating the case as a homicide. KCPD, as well as members of numerous other law enforcement agencies, continue to search the area where her remains were discovered.

Given how Belton has treated everything in the investigation thus far, would that really be a bad thing? Jmo.

Yust has a lengthy criminal history. In 2011, he was charged with two counts of animal abuse for smashing a kitten against a bathroom floor and then drowning two kittens in a creek.

A week before that, he was placed on two years probation after pleading guilty to charges of beating and choking his 18-year-old pregnant girlfriend.

According to police, he allegedly threatened the girl by saying he could dispose of body parts in a pig pen at a family farm.

That same year, another person filed a protection order against him.

In 2013, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for felony drug trafficking and in 2014 he pleaded guilty to a theft charge.

CASS COUNTY, Mo. -- The search for more human remains resumed early Thursday in an area where law enforcement has already found two human skulls.

More than 100 investigators from several agencies will be on the scene near East 233rd and State Route Y, South of Belton looking for clues to help identify the second set of remains.

I didn't mean to imply in any way that it would be a bad thing. If it's the best way to get justice for Jessica and Kara, then by all means, it should be done.

Rhonda Beckford, Kara's mom, was with the Runions family when word broke of the identification. Beckford says she believes the second set belongs to Kara but was told it could take up to a year to make a positive identification.

"I don't know what to think," Beckford said. "I'm hopeful that it doesn't take that long. But we've waited 10 years. The only thing I can say is we're almost there."

I was Kara's age when she went missing and have never stopped thinking of her. It's such a strange feeling now finally for this painfully obvious outcome. I will always contend that if only Kara's disappearance had not been glossed over as a disgruntled runaway and police hadn't botched the whole case, there's a high chance Jessica would have still been alive today. Makes my blood boil.

Soapbox rant over.... One bit of info that I found interesting in a 2011 article claims the Kara investigation at one point involved an actual confession?!

Granted this could be typical kc media spinning up hearsay as they often do, but I'm hoping maybe there is a bunch of older investigation notes that will now be reexamined in a new light.

That article says that there was a witness who said that a suspect confessed. In my mind, this is like the witness who made the incident report about KY being on Y Highway the day Kara disappeared. In that report, it was also said that when he was high, KY stated he had killed people before. At this link, a private investigator says that two people told her that Kylr admitted to them he killed Kara. https://crimewatchdaily.com/2016/06/02/family-searches-for-answers-in-missouri-teens-disappearance/ There's some pretty damning statements there.

Here is another angle of the tattoo on his left arm. I do not believe that is a mushroom, but a tree with a door in it. It has more of an Alice in Wonderland/drug vibe than a weird reference to where the remains were found. He didn't add that part of the tattoo till sometime after 2013. https://pbs.twimg.com/ext_tw_video_thumb/776101008804118528/pu/img/Qsf5Gphgo6OxUuaa.jpg

Speculation: JMO his case is sealed to protect witnesses and the media from tainting the jury. Here is the statement from KF regarding Kylr's attempted murder of her and his confession: http://media2.nbcactionnews.com/NWT/20110906_kylryustincident.pdf

And here she is being interviewed for CWD

That's what it looks like to me. That neck tattoo of his is the one that bothers me, given his apparent propensity for strangulation.

I thought I would share this, given the rainbow picture that was shared last night. Many of us saw the double rainbows over Kansas City yesterday after Jessica's remains were identified. According this, a double rainbow signifies movement from Earth to Heaven. Other sources say that a double rainbow also signifies hope and the coming of justice, harmony, and peace. https://www.reference.com/world-view/double-rainbow-mean-19d95793c1a86e55#

Mushroom is exactly an "Alice in wonderland" illustration to be honest.

If you don’t know the story, Alice meets up with a hookah-smoking caterpillar who tells her that if she eats out of one “side” of a (round) mushroom, she’ll get bigger, but out of the other side, she’ll get smaller. He doesn’t fully explain to Alice what will happen to make her taller and shorter, and so here is a fun read:

That's indeed more likely than my hypothesis. I think I should stop looking at that picture because now I'm seeing what could be a skull. My mind plays annoying tricks on me. (Adjusted contrast.)

I see a mushroom, stem, cap and gills. can't quite make out what is under it though.
