This is so unbelievably sad! I remember following this news when the rapes first happened. There were so many rape cases like this back then with no repercussions for the rapists. The way these people continued to hound these girls and their families, destroying their lives is one of the worst things I've ever seen.

"After the Netflix documentary aired she said she found it hard to listen to then Nodaway County Sheriff Darren White's clear belief that Daisy and her friend Paige – who was raped on the same night - were somehow as culpable as the boys. He also slipped a note to the camera that 'teenage girls lie.'

"Coleman had tried to kill herself at least four times in the past.

"She suffered victim blaming from the community. T-shirts worn by people in her dance class read: ' 'Matt 1: Daisy 0.'

And now this young lady is dead, her family life ruined. No future. RIP Daisy. You didn't deserve this, nor did Audrie. Bless you both.

Very fine post, @Betty P. It made me so angry then, and this latest piece of news makes me wanna stand in the street and just scream. SMH.
So maddening and so very sad for Daisy could have given the world, and sad for her family and her poor sweet mom.
Bless them both indeed.
