Did we hear from LE after the icloud was investigated? I know at one time they said they didn't know why Toni would be in the area of Parkville, I think that would have been Caldwell in the last interview with the parents and two friends. I don't even know if LE is telling us the truth or all they know, do you?

Good point. I don't think we have heard much since the iCloud was unencrypted.

LE generally do not lie. If they knew she was dealing drugs (for example) they would not explicitly state that they had no idea why she was up there. They just wouldn't say anything. There's generally no reason to offer up that info unless it is true. People always say, "to trick the perp," but that is quite rare, imho.

The police have stated they could find no reason for Toni to be in Parkville. Either she was really good at keeping secrets, or they are lying to protect her reputation.

At the time Toni went missing:
She was not a drug dealer.
She was not a call girl.

The police would know.

All in my opinion, of course.

Why would LE tell the public, during an open investigation, that Toni was dealing drugs, selling sex or any of the things she did for money. They also never verified she was a dancer at Chrome or the Outhouse nor was anything said about her two profiles where hustling sex for money was obvious. Exotic dancers don't just dance, they're flaunting their bodies for money. They're hustling customers in the club for money even when they're not dancing. I realize we all look at morals differently and also what we feel is being judgemental or isn't being judgemental. I personally don't see any difference in a woman dancing half dressed and hustling money, having sex with herself in front of a camera for anyone to watch for money or having a profile on a seeking arrangements site which could have been sex for money, different than prostitution. I do realize some of this sex hustle is illegal and some is not but morally it's pretty much all the same to me. That's just me of course.

The police wouldn't reveal any of that information, of course. But they also wouldn't say they had no idea why she was up there.

I don't know if you're right or wrong and I don't know what all LE has found since they said that.

Why was Toni's mother so quick to accept the accident scenario?
Whom gave her reason, so early to initially (and i don't know the exact quote) suspect she was taken into the sex trade? This, in my opinion would be the last thing on my mind.
Why was she so quick to clear all Toni's belongings out of her apartment [before] she was found.

I wrote in an earlier thread that Toni's mother disclosed that she was dressed when they found her. I dismissed it, no knowing if it was a quote. I subsequently read it was her who said that.

So, if she (mother) wasn't asked was Toni clothed when she was found, then her telling us, without prompt, is, for me, odd to say the least. Making it sensitive.
Why would this be on her mind?

And finally, and most important, her Mother was speaking of her in the past tense within day's of her going missing. This shows knowledge or belief she was dead. Did LE give her reason to think like this?
Did she believe Toni may have been suicidal, although ruled out, now?
Did Toni's life style have a bearing on her language?
Parents, particularly mothers have a strong maternal bond like no other, They cling to any hope of there son/daughter recovered alive. Even to the point when finding out they are dead, will not accept it, and continue speaking of them in the present tense.
What was their family dynamics.

I'm not suggesting she played a part in her demise, but i think their family weren't as close as some may believe.

I can clear up a couple of these.

>Why was Toni's mother so quick to accept the accident scenario?

The Anderson's really seem to trust LE. Also, I suspect they were told that Toni's cell phone data showed her driving around. An accident, therefore, makes sense.

>Whom gave her reason, so early to initially (and i don't know the exact quote) suspect she was taken into the sex trade? This, in my opinion would be the last thing on my mind.

There was a widely covered case where the mother went public stating that her daughter was a victim of sex trafficking and she needed help. A couple days later she had her daughter back. Only a day or two later Toni's mom had the same theory. I'm sure that was the inspiration.

> Why was she so quick to clear all Toni's belongings out of her apartment [before] she was found.

Possibly rent. They may have been evicted if Toni had the lease. It wasn't that quick. A month and a half.

> I wrote in an earlier thread that Toni's mother disclosed that she was dressed when they found her.[...] Why would this be on her mind?

She likely just repeated the details provided to her by LE.

This is important to consider the fact Toni was dressed, all her belongings were there and her seat belt was off and the window down. I'm going with the accident theory once again. Possibly they've figured out she didn't go into the water from the boat ramp. Being fully clothed pretty much leaves me knowing it wasn't a rape or sexual assault. All of her belonging being in the car leaves robbery out. I talked with someone from Parkville who goes to that park a lot. She said the Officer that patrols the park drives through every fifteen minutes. Doesn't sound like anyone would kill and dump a body in that park early on a Sunday morning when the park was open with it being patrolled often. Everyone says Toni wouldn't have killed herself but guess suicide could still be the cause. That would explain going down the ramp but doesn't explain the seat belt being off and the window down. Accident and she tried to get out is what it looks like happened. Cold water caused shock and she died in the car. Drown or a heart attack.

Ace, with all due respect, that is huge speculation. You're sure that this was the inspiration?
I have to say I disagree. If my daughter went missing, I would not think she was in human trafficking. I would have to be convinced of it from LE, maybe info from her friends and learning info that would lead me to think that. Not just hear a news story and then announce it on TV. I don't know her mother so who knows, but a news story she may or may not have seen I don't think would be her prime source of her own theory.

I'm not even sure Liz really believed it, frankly. I saw it as a Hail Mary attempt. Put it out there and maybe get lucky. Smart move. It got her some good media coverage. Yes, this is completely my interpretation of events

Sarah D. Case. Video plea published on Feb 14, 2017

The video plea got massive coverage.

Aunts confirmed on Feb 18 that she was found.

(By the way, it was subsequently reported that it was not human trafficking. Highly debated. Not sure how that one ended up.)

Just two days later Liz is saying she thinks Toni's case is human trafficking.

Whom gave her reason, so early to initially (and i don't know the exact quote) suspect she was taken into the sex trade? This, in my opinion would be the last thing on my mind.

It seems like Toni's parents only learned about their daughter's involvement in the sex industry (stripper, and potential escort and/or cam girl) after she disappeared. They most likely had just seen all of the images and words on Toni's social media for the first time, and quite possibly saw her escort and cam girl profiles, just as most of us now have. They also may have learned about other activities that we don't know about. It would have been an enormous shock if this were indeed all new information. It would not surprise me if the sex-for-pay world was freshly and heavily on Liz's mind when she made that statement, and although it was still terrifying, at least "sex trafficking" implied that it was in someone's best interest to keep their only child alive. It also implies that the sex trade was outside of Toni's choice and control, which could have really resonated subconsciously in the mind of a mother who was struggling to integrate this new info about her baby girl's life. If you remember, she also said at least once around that time that Toni didn't drink or party, which shows a big struggle to integrate what she believed about her daughter's lifestyle with the evidence her daughter presented herself on social media. Also, sex trafficking has been in the news a lot in the past couple of years, so it seems to be a stronger possibility for girls and young women now than it probably is for most. Toni does not seem to have been the vulnerable type targeted by sex traffickers (too old, too smart, too financially and emotionally secure, too socially connected), so it would be odd if that had been the case in her disappearance. But who knows what this distraught mother had seen or had been told by the "experts." Maybe LE mentioned it as a remote possibility to keep hope alive, and she ran with it. To me, it seems like desperate, wishful, "lesser of the evils" thinking by someone whose whole life was being turned upside-down. My inclination is to cut grieving parents TONS of slack.

I took a look for KCPD policy on this but didn't find it. Just wanted to point out this could have been the case.

I'm fairly certain that when they approach a vehicle, in order to have a second officer arrive for "backup" it is called into dispatch. Dispatch then calls closest officer to assist 1st officer on stop. That's only if the 2nd officer was called over the radio - if they were sitting close in proximity and 2nd officer saw 1st initiating stop he could have just followed. Officers usually notify dispatch of a stop for safety reasons, especially at that time of night. As usual JMO thx

I forgot about that second car. Yes, this is an excellent point. Back up would be heard or recorded one would think.

It's been days. I assume Pete Sr. will not be joining us as a verified insider.

I am back folks. I guess I let my frustration come through a little bit and made an insensitive statement. I apologize. While I was away I see that the majority of you are back on track. Ace, you seem to be leading the pack as far as logic and accuracy are concerned. I have said it many times, but I will say it again. It is Missouri law for all records to be turned over via a sunshine law request once the investigation is closed. This one remains open and will be for 10 or more weeks based on toxicology return times and assuming the accident theory is dispelled my the KCPD. Folks there is no conspiracy and there is no smoking gun. I will not claim to be an insider as there is no benefit for me to do so, only problems. I will yell you that you can file a sunshine request to the KCPD once the case is closed, pay the processing fees (it will be expensive, I hear the case file is very extensive) and satisfy your curiosity. In the end you will recognize the truth. This was a tragedy of the greatest proportions wherein a lovely young woman lost her life and her parents lost what they knew to be reality. People ask, why did Liz subscribe to the human trafficking? How about because it was the only scenario in which her daughter was still alive. Her parents have been included in the investigation from the beginning and will know everything before it is made public. Pray for those good folks and everyone else who loses a loved one to an early grave. It happens every minute of every hour. If I have been snarky in the past it is because I feel so much pain for Toni's wonderful family and am tired of seeing them and the detectives who worked tirelessly to discover the truth get drug through the mud. I don't k now what else to say except that this is a time to be patient and logical. The answers to all your questions will be revealed soon.

Even with the sunshine law in effect, we feel the body/dash cam video will not be released. Don't be surprised when this is revealed.

Why would it not Pete? No police department is above the law. As a military man you surely understand there are rules that must be followed. If the law dictates it is discoverable then it is.

I didn't notice any snark, "The reason reason." Glad you're back.

Pete, it sure feels that way, doesn't it? We know they have the dash video, though. So they better release it.

On another topic:
The other day I was trying to verify Toni's cell phone being with her, and all I could find was people on here asking about it. I just came across this video that states that Toni's purse and cell phone were found with her, according to her family.

"Family members confirm that the 20-year-old's body was found inside the car along with her purse and cell phone."
