They are still talking about "homicide" vs. "murder", apparently not understanding that the end result is the same :( and won't let anyone post otherwise.

ETA: Not to say they shouldn't be allowed their thread of hope, but not sure where they are finding it. LE does not charge with murder (or homicide) unless someone is dead. I do hope she is found and identified very soon so that they can begin the horrible process ahead. Clearly, to me anyway, she is not alive, and he murdered her.

Oh dont get me started on the last couple of generations.....but then I find it all very sad because so many of them are "lost" and they have no security from a very young age. I have actually studied this towards a sociology degree that I abandoned a couple of years ago.

There are now up 2 or 3 generations of kids where there hasnt been a stable man in their life. Not only that but children are born with a mum and dad, they NEED that security of both parents unconditional love. But something happens, dad moves on starts new family, mum moves on starts new family.....that is what I mean by lost......no nuclear family security. They are survivors looking out for themselves first, because even though their parents may love them, and this I dont deny, in alot of the cases mum and dad are looking after new families as well or putting the needs of the current partner first because they want their personal security and to be loved. And please dont jump on me for this, but I am sure there are alot of people that love their step or partners children as their own bit there is a huge percentage that dont. I am ashamed to say, I have experienced this personally. Most damaging, in this modern society there is too much relationship jumping amongst adults who have children................no wonder they are lost....

It looks like this was happening here.....although brittany had a family that were very supportive, if you look into the dynamics of it, there were alot of steps and half brothers and sisters and photos of kids that were the parents partners kids... it looks like stepmum was close for a while but she hadnt been with Brittany's dad for ages and in fact had just split from a guy who also had children. It must be so confusing for these kids.

Marriages and relationships are breaking down more often....I have a family full of divorced folk/single mums etc...............but I wish more people would slow down when it came to having a man/woman in their life and really stop and think of all the consequences, especially when it comes to their kids. I take my hat of the ones that do..

I was saddened when I read that he said that she didnt have a phone because she bought "family things" and wanted family photos etc. It is obvious this girl wanted to make a family........they had been living together for 2 1/2 months!!! He already had a child as well, but was already getting cold feet and wanted out. I am wondering if the girl was the mother of his 2 year old............if not, then sheesh, So so so sad........

You speak the truth, my friend!!!! It saddens me to the core. :(

Regardless of religious thought or political persuastion, it is imperative that our society get back to the importance of the nuclear family.

OT.....I can't change the world, but I am trying. Most of my childhood was dysfunctional. My paternal father ran off, signed away his rights. I was adopted by third stepfather. He's still who I call dad, but that doesn't change all the dysfunction that occurred beforehand. My husband's father killed his mother when he was 8, and he was raised by grandparents. The day I knew I would marry him was the day that he said he would get married one time, and one time only, and that his children would always have a mom and dad together. Fourteen years and four kids later, his promise is still true, and we are trying our best to mend the dysfunctions of our childhoods and raise our children differently, where our beliefs, marriage, and family are the center of our lives.

That said, if there was hope for us, there's hope for everyone. I pray that at least one of these children we read about find their inner strength to press on, and defy being a victim of their circumstance.

Wow. Just posted on the bring Brittany home FB page, part of a statement from the family.

"There was a female questioned by the police but they feel no need in arresting her. Ben and the female were txting back and forth and he did say to her "I did it. I got rid of her." Ben and this female were planning on getting back together."

Hopefully they will read here.

hom·i·cide
   [hom-uh-sahyd, hoh-muh-] Show IPA
noun
1.
the killing of one human being by another.
2.
a person who kills another; murderer.

Mississippi code of 1972
Homicide defined:

I can't stand to see them begging for her safety. I wish with all my might that this was a possibility, but a homicide charge means that they believe Ben Davis murdered Brittany, and they must have some sort of proof that leads them to believe this fact. They don't just make this stuff up for fun.

<snark> I wonder if Ben knew he could just simply break up with Brittany and get back together with this other chick. Much less complicated than all this lying, burning, homicide charges, etc. </snark>

It is sad that they seem actually not to know what homicide means...in the latest post, the page owner wrote again, he is charged with "homicide only, not murder." So this is what is keeping them hopeful...very sad.

Ha ha... I see where they spanked you now, and realize I clicked on your profile earlier to see if I could find anything.

Cute cat. :)

Lol....
Oh well I tried. I don't think I was being rude.
I figured they would have deleted my posts.
They did block me though...
(Or else I might have started in on grammar and spelling...)

Your posts are deleted, but the page administrator mentioned your name in HER post and that is still there. ;)

oh, my.... I could barely transcribe the video, and it wasn't just BD. The reporter was just as difficult! I won't let them off the hook, though... I am a product of a rural Mississippi education, and while I don't claim to be a grammatical specialist or a literary genius, they DID teach us the correct parts of speech in the public school system. Some people just refuse to use them, I guess.

(I hope I didn't misspell anything.) :floorlaugh:

This is the first time I have read that someone was arrested for homicide, yet the victim's supporters are claiming "hurtful rumors." The "fiancé" knew BC for less than three months. There are worse things than being without a mate at 19. Now a little one has lost her mother.

Such a sad situation. Nonetheless, my prayers go out to the family for strength and support in the days to come.

That FB page is really not helping anything. They should have set up a prayer page, if that is what they wanted. You are banned if you say anything other than offer prayers. Or offer money.

I hate when I read that level of denial, because I know what they will be facing soon, probably as soon as tomorrow, if the body found is Brittany. Many of them are totally convinced that the charges have nothing to do with her current status. Kind of boggles my mind.

T4tide I read your story and I take my hat off to you!! I have a couple of friends who have had the same family dysfunction and they too are doing what I think must have happened alot in the 50s....you take the good with the bad (unless of course it is real bad)

I grew up the opposite, had the family ties type family as did most of my friends and my extended family...however now most of my cousins and people I know have been remarried, single parent, step parent, couple of kids to couple of dads..etc etc etc...

thats society hey.......

I just wanted to say that looking at Brittany's facebook, she is a beautiful young lady. Her baby Brooklynn might be the cutest baby I've ever seen. My goodness, she's a beautiful child! Poor baby.

Meanwhile, Benjamin looks like a slimy meat-head who is literally trying to hide his lies. The way he keeps his hand up on or near his face when he's talking the whole time. He is shielding his big fat head and the lies coming out of it. Almost as if he thinks if he doesn't show us his face straight on and unobstructed we will believe what he is spewing. Poor Brittany and Brooklynn.

I could only sleep a little tonight. I had strange dreams about this girl.

Revampz, I just want to say..your post was amazing about family.

I just checked and I see I was also booted off the page. Oh well. I wish her family well.

I do wonder if they are going to support Ben in this, though? Are we looking at a situation where a young woman is dead and the bf is the suspect that denies everything...and her family supports and believes him? I remember yesterday reading a few of their friends post there was no way Ben did this.

We're not any closer to finding the body that I know of," Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee said.

Although he wouldn't disclose exactly what, he said investigators have collected evidence sufficient to charge Davis without finding Crenshaw dead.
The sheriff said investigators have corroborated the likelihood that Davis returned home at around 7 or 8 p.m. Aug. 16 with other interviews.

Davis allegedly reported that Crenshaw was not at home when he arrived, but that the toddler was safely there.

McGee said Davis reported assuming that Crenshaw had walked to the nearby laundromat when he found a glass of milk that still had condensation on it in the home.

Supposed to be a news release today.

If there's ever been a guy who just made it all too easy for investigators, it's this guy. Milk glass still had condensation on it?

Really.

No kidding! He's not the brightest bulb in the pack. If I had any doubts about him...the video totally does him in.

IMO...I think he killed her in a heated rage. (there were rumors that he was on meth) I think after he killed her, everything else after that point was to cover it up. Used the basket to carry her. Probably threw some of her clothes in with it to make it look like she took off. He was trying to come up with a good story, but instead gave the cops about 10 different one. He's spitting out different stories hoping the cops will believe just one of them. He is stumbling over his own lies.

IMO..I don't think he planned to kill her. If he did, his story would be better.

I suspect he will deny it and I highly suspect some people will believe and support him.

Today is going to be a hard one for the family.

Just my 2 cents.

If what the page owner on the public page is true (that the girlfriend said he called her and said "I did it, I got rid of her) then I think he did plan it.

That Hat-Am article said that he waited 18 hours to report her missing. I'm assuming that's 18 hours from 8:30 Thursday night. That means he waited until Friday afternoon, say 2 PM to even report her missing. If that's not a red flag, don't know what is.
