On the fateful morning of August 15, 2024, Mr. Greg Varnado, known affectionately as Elder Greg had went to work on a normal day at the Town Hall where he was employed, faced a sudden termination from his job around 10:00am. By 2:00pm, Mr. Varnado seemingly reappeared at the Town Hall, the site of his recent termination, presumably to seek clarification from the Mayor regarding his employment status.
We have attempted to ping his phone, but the phone is off. We have attempted to locate his vehicle through On-Star,” Lawrence County Sheriff Ryan Everett said. The sheriff added that his personal information and vehicle information has been listed on the National Crime Information Center database.
“Varnado is not wanted for criminal activity. He is a missing person, and we would all like to hear from him so we know he is OK,” Everett said.
Greg was driving a blue 2020 Chevrolet Equinox with a black Mississippi tag before his disappearance.
