Well, it looks like quite a nice hotel and Marriott is also a good name. I had imagined it was some seedy motel in the deep south.
I can't quite believe the staff turned a blind eye to any potential hinky dealings.

This hotel looks like the kind of place you need a car to get to. So, if she didn't driver herself, then did someone give her a ride there? No mention of an abandoned car or a car left there with no apparent owner.

Interesting another post mentioned no cameras. Surely you think this hotel would have cameras somewhere, even just 1 in the lobby and 1 in the car park.

All very odd.

I totally agree on all points. Maybe she was a called in escort and she had a chauffeur driving her there.....would suspect they wait for the girl to return, but I don't know how that works exactly. Maybe he/she got scared, something happened and drove off. Or it was an over night "rent". Maybe the persons in the room picked her up down town......Is prostitution or "making use of the service" illegal in this state? It's obvious there is more background to this story. I feel very sad, because it looks like the MEx is not not taken this seriously enough. She was there, just died, why is there an estimate on height and weight.....I think that is odd.

I need to say this: all of the above is written with a lot of respect for this woman and all other women. It's just hard to find the right words when your native language is not English. No harm meant.

Edit to add.

....and exactly how many people were in this hotel room?! It sounds chaotic.

I'm sure what really happened is far from the old baloney excuse LE were told.

I just wish LE had wanted to get to the cause of this young lady's death, but I get the feeling they didn't care.

Sadly, I don't know if anyone is even missing her locally.....

Nurses also have fingerprint problems from the constant handwashing. I had to be fingerprinted for my license, and it took four tries (two ink, two electronic) to get a useable set. I also had problems all the time opening the fingerprint activated medication cabinet. For reference, I've been a nurse for 44 years.

Thanks for your contribution, interesting thought.

Wow!!!! Thanks, for putting things in perspective @fred&edna That could be a good explanation why the Namus file was filled in like it is. On the positive site; somebody took at least the time to make a file. Sorry...Ms. Grisham-Stewart for doubting you. ...talking about workload.......I applaud you and your team!

I was looking for a possible news report for the UID when the article about all the June 2021 homicides came up. I was surprised. Also, there was a report of another female found deceased in a different hotel in May 2021 but she was identified. Were there any semi-large special activities or gatherings (sports, entertainment) going on in June in this area? Were we gathering in June (sheesh, all the Covid restriction times are such a blur for me)?! I feel as if she may have been working a circuit (of sorts) and was on a call-out. jmo

To answer my own question about the prostitution laws in MS. :) This could explain why everybody went silent and came up with a bogus story. If there was a combination also with drugs...bad news, in this case, legally spoken.

Mississippi Prostitution and Solicitation Laws - FindLaw
Like many other states, in Mississippi it is a crime to engage in prostitution (having sex for money), solicitation (paying for sex), or pimping (procuring a prostitute). However, unlike some states, it is also illegal to rent a vehicle or structure such as an apartment or hotel, knowing that it will be used for prostitution purposes. The Magnolia State also prohibits a person from directing or attempting to direct a person to a prostitute or place of prostitution. For example, if a person has knowledge of a brothel and comes across another person who is looking for that type of place, simply pointing them in the right direction can be a crime.

It is also a crime to transport or attempt to transport a person to a prostitute or place of prostitution. Therefore, even if you mean well by giving a friend a ride, if you know that he or she is attempting to visit a prostitute or brothel, you may be committing a crime.

Wow....harsh.

It's sad. Maybe she was estranged from her family and they are not even looking for her. I hope they noticed her missing when she didn't contacted them during the holidays and they filed a missing person's report.

Weight 135 lbs, Estimated (why estimated?)
Recognizable face (no PM picture/no reconstruction)

Possible name Kelly/Kellie (or something that sound like that or is short for another name)/possible AKA Baby girl.

Strange that essential information is missing in the Namus file. Was she properly examined you wonder or did they forget to put more info in, after examination.

Did she had pierced ears/piercings, jewelry, had she given birth, (operational) scars?

edit to add

Including this for people who don't know:

Namus doesn't originate any of the information they post; the case data is usually entered by LE or other group responsible for the content. It sounds to me like there was no full autopsy done and whoever filled in the form for the death certificate probably supplied this information just from looking at the body.
