This seems like a very plausible scenario to me and I just hope his good nature did not lead to him being harmed.

Me too! I can envision a "helping" scenario that went wrong/Paul was taken advantage of.

Also, Paul's sister stated that he was last seen in Reed Point. This answers my question about why they are focusing the search there and not in Bozeman.

I apologize, I'm late to the discussion but I've been contemplating all of the information and have been wondering why LE's main focus is on the Reed Point location. I understand that's where the car was found but I guess I wanted answers in conjunction with Bozeman. Whether or not he had a hotel room reserved and if he showed up to the hotel. Was there footage of him leaving the library, etc.

I also have the same questions.
Chicagogirl stated in post#161 that Paul texted his girlfriend at 4:00pm from the public library in Bozeman (not sure of date).
Paul informed his girlfriend that he had a job interview the following day in Bozeman. Have local postal officials confirm that Paul had a interview and did he attend the interview. If Paul had a job interview the following day he must have made reservations at a local motel/hotel to spend the night. Credit card transactions would confirm this. Have any witnesses come forward of seeing or interacting with him in Bozeman. I guess its to late to retrieve surveillance video from the public library or local post office.
Has Paul's family contacted Bozeman or other Montana TV stations to cover his story.

I noticed that Reedpoint is about halfway between Bozeman and Billings and it would be a logical area for a rest stop if Billings was his next destination in Montana and then head back to Illinois. Did Paul leave any travel plans with his family.
There must be a paper/digital trail and phone ping data to confirm Paul's travels.

I'm a relative of Paul Batson. When I came across this website I was skeptical and thought that it would be another troll paradise with negative comments or people who couldn't be kind and respectful to one another like I have seen on so many other message boards.

I just want you to know that I have read each one of your posts and I am happy to discover so many intelligent, kind, supportive people who have incredibly helpful insight and information but yet speak with eloquence and genuine concern. Thank you on behalf of all of us Batsons.

In order to not disclose any family history or personal information I'm very limited with what I can say about Paul Batson. But you should know that Paul comes from really good people who love one another respect each other, are loyal to the end and we all have that funny, deadpan sense of humor, love of music and entertainment and through all of our family dysfunctions and even when we drive each other crazy, we are still there for one another no matter what happens. We are strong and have overcome tons of heartbreak and tragic circumstances because we come together even stronger during adversity. Ours hearts are broken because one of our own is missing. We are devastated but determined to keep fighting until we get answers about Paul. He is a good man with a loving, warm family who need him and want to see him again. If however the unthinkable happens, we want closure and time to mourn and heal.

To each of you on this site, THANK YOU for your kindness, support and excellent posts. You give us hope and strength. Many blessings to you.

He never made it to the April 30 meeting at the Bozeman Postal Service:

TIMELINE
Batson is reportedly a United States Navy veteran and a current U.S. Postal worker from Batavia, Ill., who was in Montana checking out Butte and Bozeman as possible transfer cities, said Stillwater County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Smith.
Batson was last heard from at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, when he told his girlfriend he was at the Bozeman Public Library and had a meeting with the Bozeman Postal Service the following morning, April 30, according to police reports.
Batson never showed up at that meeting. After calling hospitals and multiple attempts at making contact with him, the girlfriend reported Batson missing to the Bozeman Police Department.
At approximately 12:23 p.m. the following day, a Still-water County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a call about Batson’s abandoned 2016 Dodge Charger that was parked on the street across from the gas station in Reed Point. Batavia, Ill., police were contacted in an effort to locate a phone number, but a number was not found. The deputy wrote on the car’s window for Batson to call the sheriff’s office.
At 8:35 p.m., dispatch got a “delayed hit” on the car, and learned the owner had been reported as missing by the Bozeman PD the previous day. A deputy returned to the location and noted the vehicle was “extremely clean” and the only items missing appeared to be Batson’s cell phone and his wallet. People in the area were questioned, but none remembered seeing a man that matched Bat-son’s description.
The car was impounded and a search for Batson was launched immediately.

Thank u so much for joining us here and welcome Avalon! We are a supportive group and many of us have been victims of crimes in one way or another. I guess u could say that some very sad experiences have bonded many of us even though we will probably never meet each other in person.

Please know that we appreciate your involvement and we all want to help find Paul. One member above mentioned that they never have any interaction with their mail carrier. That is true for me as mine delivers mail via a truck and puts it in our community’s slots. I occasionally wave hello but that is the extent of it. Yesterday I heard him yell at a dog to get away because he was walking up to his mail truck. It made me sad and I immediately thought of what a kindly mail carrier Paul is for handing out doggy treats to the dogs on his route. That says a lot about the person he is and made me even more impressed when I heard that Paul doesn’t even own a dog!

Anyway, we are glad u are here with us and hope we are able to help in some small way.

Checking in on Paul. [emoji258]

Oh, how very sweet... this is so real, giving and thoughtful, at such a tough time for you and your family. Wish I could just give you a big hug, as I am sure we all wish. Please know we do care and are straining our brains to try to think of anything at all that may be helpful.

We hold out hope and pray he is found soon...that he is okay and able to return to you. We keep the light on here, for you, his family and friends -- and most especially for Paul. :candle:

Welcome, Avalon4ever. Your kind and thoughtful words are just further testament to the type of person Paul is and the type of family you have. It's so comforting to hear about it when the people we come to know and love through these threads have family who truly love and cherish them as well. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into Paul's world.

Please know that we are here for you and Paul and your family. Websleuthers are some of the best people in the world - and we do not ever give up. We will be here until Paul comes home.

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and sending you much love.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier questions. I apologize if I contributed to posts being removed, as I believe all information regarding the keys etc. is rumor and has not been substantiated by LE or in MSM.

I did have another question, though. I believe it is confirmed that Paul texted his gf around 4pm Sunday. I wonder whether they would typically speak/text before going to bed at night or if a last text at 4pm would be not out of the ordinary. I'm just wondering if it would have seemed odd that she did not hear from later that evening.

Oh, and one other thing. If Paul was still in the "exploratory" phase of his move/transfer, then I can absolutely see him taking a short side trip to a nearby small town. Parking at the post office would also make sense, as there would be some sense of familiarity there no matter the town.

This is all MOO, as always.

Hoping Paul comes home safe and sound - and soon.

Deleted my question/comments since I cannot find an MSM link to the information I was referencing. Thanks to SeesSeas for bringing this to my attention.

Has anyone heard how much of the gas station video was viewed by LE? I can't help but wonder if the gas station video was viewed for several hours before and several hours after to determine if more "time" was missing. If yes, then I would have to believe the the missing time was a reoccurring glitch with the camera system. However, if the five minute period after Paul's car arrived is the ONLY missing time in an 6 or 8 hour period, then that missing time would be so suspicious that I would be asking the owner of that camera system some very hard questions. I can only hope that LE has followed through with this.....

Do you have a media or LE link about the "gas station video"? I think it's rumor.

Has it been reported anywhere that there was a camera at the post office where he parked? I don't recall it being mentioned anywhere and one would think they have security cameras.

Modified my post since I cannot find MSM to support the "gas station video" question and comments. Thanks SeesSeas!

Where was he last seen in Reed Point? I didn't think they could see in the video from the gas station who got in or out of the car.

I wondered if Paul's sister may have received information from LE that wasn't released to the public.

I went back and found it, it was a post made by Arcadekris. So not a link or from media. I do wonder how this person saw the video or if they did
