MISSING 4 year old Boy (originally thought to be 3)

Ryker Webb. 4 years old. Red hair, blue eyes.

An initial clothing description provided to searchers proved to be inaccurate. It is unknown what clothing or footwear the child is wearing.

The child was last seen on the afternoon of Friday, June 3, 2022, playing with the family dog in the yard outside the home in the area of the 18 mile-marker of Hwy 56 south of Troy, MT. (East side of Bull Lake).

In addition to a steady presence of ground searchers and ATVs, several drones and dog teams were able to deploy yesterday following the initial report, along with a boat unit on the lake. Two Bear Air attempted to deploy yesterday, but had to turn back due to poor weather moving in. Today, two Montana Air National Guard helicopters and several drones from Flathead and Spokane were able to deploy, in addition to more dog teams and continued ground and ATV searching. It has been extremely difficult to get the additional air assets into the Bull Lake valley due to very poor weather conditions which consisted of rain, low visibility, and low ceiling. These assets continue to monitor weather for additional flight openings. The dense vegetation in the area has also proven to be extremely difficult to search.

A Code Red Alert was sent out yesterday to all neighbors in the vicinity of the point last seen, asking that they search their own properties and structures.

A missing person report was disseminated nationwide yesterday.

Thank you to the many agencies assisting in this search thus far (we’ve probably missed many here):

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, David Thompson Search and Rescue, Bull Lake Fire Department, Flathead County SAR, Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane PD, Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, North Valley SAR, Two Bear Air, Air National Guard, Libby Volunteer Fire Department, Upper Yaak Fire Department, Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks. Additionally, Malmstrom AFB, Fairchild AFB, and Spokane County Sheriff's Office are attempting to respond with aircraft.

Thank you to the Halfway House, Stillwater Christian Church, Rosauers, and many others for the meals today.

The search and investigation into the child’s disappearance will continue.

Any person with information regarding this case should contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 406-293-4112, ext. 0

Article from The Western News:

Short said a call came in about 5 p.m. Friday that the boy was missing from a residence located on Montana Highway 56 in the Bull Lake area.

“He and his dad were in the yard, the father went inside the home for a moment and when he went back outside, the child was gone,” Short said. “We have a very distraught family and a lot of concern over him.”

Yeah, I am concerned too. Especially that the people who saw Ryer moments before he went missing, somehow cannot provide a description of what he was wearing.

Last seen at 3:00 pm. Call came in at 5:00. Did Dad go in longer than a “moment”? If not, would you wait 2 hours before reporting a 4 year old missing? He also doesn’t know what Ryker was wearing or his age.
Could be panic. Could be suspicious. IMO

UPDATE. SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY. CHILD HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE AND IN GOOD HEALTH. No further info at this time.

The update was posted 13 hours ago, so he must have been found last night?
I wonder if the original post was made 13 hours ago and they just added an update? There used to be a way to see if posts have been edited but I do not know if that is still true.

ETA: I viewed the post in the app and figured it out. The update was added 3 hours ago.

So glad he was found.

Dad couldn’t recall that he was still in his footie pajamas?! (From the recovery pic) ‍
I’m still a little curious to the rest of the story here.

The redheaded toddler was discovered by a family that was checking on their cabin.

“They heard a little boy’s voice from the shed out back where they keep a generator," Short said. “So they went to the shed and there he was.”

When Short arrived on the scene, he said Ryker was visibly shaken.

“He was very, very scared,” Short revealed, noting that mountain lions and bears inhabit the area. There were also severe thunderstorms on the evening Ryker went missing. Temperatures dipped into the 40s. The shed where he took shelter was a very old log cabin-type structure, Short said.

Short asked Ryker several questions and the little boy shared that he went for a long walk by himself and then he got tired.

Short recalled how Ryker's “eyes lit up” at the mention of being reunited with his parents.

“He had the wide-eyed scared look until he got back to his mom and dad,” Short said.

That face in the recovery picture of him on the stretcher lol. Nice to see another little guy who's sense of adventure included self preservation. Seems like the ones who disappear with a dog stand a much better chance - no word on where the dog was? At any rate something tells me Dad will be a lot more conscientious from now on.

The case is still open, Short said. He said authorities want to know why Ryker's parents waited “at least two hours” to report him missing. "We’re still looking into why he disappeared, and why he wasn’t being watched closely,” Short said.

Apparently searchers established the direction he had gone based on finding rocks he had flipped over to look for bugs under them. How adorable
