Has anyone checked out the wall of memory on desaparecidos.org? Pictures of hundreds of missing people. http://www.desaparecidos.org/arg/victimas/eng.html

I have before but there are so many people that it's hard to go through so much detail. I will look through again. I am also aware that photographs of some of the missing isn't even available.

From what I know, none of the women seem to have the two distinct moles of our Jane.

I'm beginning to have second thoughts about my first statement from earlier now that I found this website. So many missing. Something I've noticed is several of these people have the olive skin tones and most of the males have busy eyebrows. And I do notice what appears to be two large moles on the person you suggested. Hmmm.. Interesting... I just wish I could translate everything to English so I could actually read about about each person. I'm going to keep looking as well there are so many people and several couples.

I think Laura lia crespo de Moya looks similar to Jane doe. It's just something about those eyes and the lashes. Only problem is I can't find any pictures showing the left side of her face to see if I notice any distinct moles.

Laura Lia Crespo de Moya disappeared in December 1977, over a year after our Does were found dead. But I do agree that many Argentinians resemble our Does. Perhaps they have south American ancestry, but we won't know for sure until they are identified.

Peppered peach, funny you mention GDL, because every time I see our mystery couple I always think of her and now I know I an not totally nuts.

BTW...

:greetings:
Peppered peach,

 :welcome6:

We are so glad you are here, we need all the help we can get!!

:daisy:

Oh good glad I'm not loosing it!

What a handsome guy. Though, I keep noticing in these photos that he is lighter in coloring than Jacques Doe. Ron appears to have had dirty blond or light brunet hair (probably was downright blond in the summer months), and light-colored eyes as well as a relatively light complexion. His facial features and bone structure are different; the way his chin and cheekbones are positioned and the size of his forehead betray that this is probably not the same man... Just my thoughts...

** Also, I don't really find that old postmortem sketch to be very accurate, when you look at the actual photos. I thought Carl K's recon was quite a bit more accurate to what he may have looked like in everyday life. It looks a little goofy because it's an illustration done using computer software, but I think this is the closest thing we have to an idea, some sense, of how the guy looked. Note the very prominent eyebrows and face shape.

I just started reading about this unidentified pair. I'm sad to read that after all this time they haven't been identified.
The illustration of Jacque/Jock above looks like a person with very classic Quebec French-Canadian features. However, considering certain parts of Quebec is multicultural, it is possible his father could have been an immigrant to Quebec from a french speaking country. For example his parents could have been immigrants from Algeria/Morroco/French speaking Middle East, etc. This could account for the remarks about being "disowned".

The dental work is a major clue to his or his parents socio-economic status. In Canada dental work is not free for adults. One would have to have a good job with excellent benefits that partially covered advanced/new/cutting edge dental work.
If "Jock" was from Quebec and his father was a medical doctor/dentist, it shouldn't be difficult to track down the father.

I hope the identities of these two are eventually discovered, even if none of their family and former friends are looking for them.

Oh boy... Only if the actual story of the Canadian doctor as his father was true. I know that many people had looked into this but I have not been able ti discover anything. I don't know if they are overlooking anything, it's been more than 4 decades. It's pretty hard to locate people even more so when so much time has passed. I don't really know what our options are search-wise. We don't know for sure if the eye account witness was accurate.

Not sure if anyone even still posts on this thread, but what do you think of this mp for Jane Doe.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/g/gregory_mary.html

The dates don't match but she looks like her IMO, has the moles, is within 2in of height and the story gets me. Traveling to the US from Canada with a male companion...

Mmm... Not much of a resemblance there. Our Jane has much darker complexion, more pronounced "pointy" facial features... and of course, I don't see those distinct moles near her mouth, and those long dark lashes. Plus, the dates are off as well.

So this could be way off, however it's a small chance. When I was younger I followed a band around. Some of the more common features of female fans was not shaving, and no underwear. You don't really have frequent access to showers and laundry following bands so that's part of the cause of the choice to not shave and no underwear. With that being said what bands were popular in this time? We're any performing close to Sumter county? I need to go back and read their autopsy info it's been so long, any drugs in their system? The most common forms for that lifestyle is weed and hallucinagins. (However that's spelled) while weed would show up most psychedelics would not.

So I searched the Grateful Dead tour schedule for that year and they finished up what looked like some shows in the New England area on August 3 and then picked back up in September with a show in the Carolinas. The August third show would have given them plenty of time to make it to the Carolinas and start trying to make some extra money before jumping back on tour in September.

I know it's a long shot but it does match up with my personal choices while following a band. Also it's not that uncommon for middle class to wealthier kids to choose this lifestyle.

I don't think he's Jock Doe, his eyebrows aren't bushy enough and his teeth look different

Sorry I posted the wrong link! I was trying to compare him to this missing person.
http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/5179dmbc.html

While I'm inclined to agree with Triss about the eyebrows, and I think his ears are different, too, there is definitely a resemblance. But there's so little to go on that it's hard to even guess whether there's more than a passing resemblance.

I would say the missing date for this la France guy could be wrong. These family members can't remember his wt/ht or distinguishing characteristics. Then it's a possibility they don't even remember the exact year he went missing. And he very well could have been on the rd for a long time. I see a resemblance in some of the pictures. And the initial "F" for JPF. Although I do see how the eyebrows and ears do appear different.

I don't see any reason to think he didn't live on the road, or drifted from job to job, or something like that. He might have traveled the world and just been making his way home.

When I was trying to put together a side by side for La France, I noticed that even in the post-mortem photos, "Jock" looks different depending on the angle and the lighting. Sometimes he almost doesn't look like the same person.

Aside: I wonder how much grief the poor guy had to put up with over his name which would loosely translate as The king Francis of France.

In Canada he wouldn't have had "grief" over his last name. LaFrance is not an uncommon last name in Canada.
