In the mid 70s, you give a ride to a guy and a girl to the next gas station or maybe you notice they are around town for a week before they move on. ~Forty years later, IF you happen to discover them on the Web, how much will you really remember about them?
In the last five years, my dad was visiting and we took a drive out into the country. Along the highway, we picked up a hitchhiker and gave him a ride to the next intersection. There was some conversation and he talked about maybe writing a book about his travels once he got home. That one detail is all I remember about him. I couldn't tell you anything about what he looked like or even if we learned anything about where he was from.
