What sounds familiar?
Very interested in what you've said!
Who is Brittanee Marie Drexel? I checked a bit, and she was last seen in Myrtle Beach, SC, from NY. MB is not all that far from Lumberton, NC. About 80 miles. I grew up going to Ocean Drive Beach, SC -- it was called "OD" by me and many others -- a great party beach for teens -- it was about 15 miles from Myrtle.
OD is not as "safe" now as it was for us, way back when... (Is anywhere?)

Who is Randall Taylor? Apparently he is a suspect in Brittanee's disappearance.

Tell us more.
Abby had some trouble in the past with drugs, but she was trying to stay straight. She disappeared while visiting her mom in Lumberton. Anything like that with Brittanee?

And please let me add,

Welcome to Websleuths,

There is a link to Lumberton on the Brittanee Drexel case, one of the girls who Brittanee travelled with to Myrtle Beach, JO, was originally from Lumberton, she supposedle was not getting along with her at the time she went missing. PO also travelled with them although I am unable at this time to establish a relationship between then and/or whether he was from Lumberton.

Randell Keith Taylor

Sheriff's Office | Charleston County, SC | Search for Arrests

Randall Taylor was arrested along with four other men in Shannon McConaughey’s killing.

Shannon McConaughey was from St. Stephen and last seen at Cracker Barrel in North Charleston in 1998. Charleston County Sheriff’s Office investigators alleged that Randall Taylor raped and shot her and that the other four men helped dispose of her body. Her car was burned in the woods near McClellanville. Her body was found months later.

Detectives arrested Randall Taylor and the three others in 2001, but prosecutors dropped the murder charges, citing insufficient evidence.

Police reconsider ties between Brittanee Drexel case, crimes targeting other women

Bumping for Abby, now missing four years as of tomorrow. Noted not only some murdered young women around the time she went missing, but the above mentioned guys who may've been connected to Brittanee Drexel, Shannon McConaughey I never knew of these instances; the Lumberton area concerns me and general crime against indigenous women-was Abby Native American? Where are you Brittany?

Detectives say they have followed a number of leads, but they have not yet determined what happened to Patterson.

"Four years later we're still waiting and living the same nightmare," Patterson's mother, SL, said on Facebook.

[...]

"Someone knows what happened to my child that day," SL wrote on Facebook a week ago. "You were suppose to bring her back home where she wanted to be, but something went way wrong. It's been four years too long. Please come forward with the truth."

[...]

"This has devastated our lives, and her family will never be the same again. We need to know where Abby is and what happened to her that day," her mother wrote on Facebook. "Maybe then her family can begin to heal. We have suffered enough."

Abby's mom posted this in Jan. 2019:
"Abby Lynn Patterson was last seen 9-5-2017 in Lumberton, NC walking down 9th street towards Inglewood Ave. at 11:30 am wearing a white shirt and brown shorts. She has a tattoo of 3 black birds on her shoulder and a large tan birthmark on the back of her left thigh."
There’s also photos of the tattoo on Abby Lynn Patterson – The Charley Project
And birth mark on fbi site. Also, there’s also 3 murders all within the area she was last seen and all same situations circumstances. 2 disappearances one being Abby Patterson and there’s several registered sex offenders and some suspect people in her friends list. That town has a lot of the same surnames and mutual acquaintances.

What errand was she running? Why did she get into a car with someone they didn't know?
Brown Buick was the only info given no name as I guess they spoke to said driver whom says they dropped her off at another location which is suspect but idk

Yes dna kits sat for almost 2 years untested from all three bodies found. Awful. All around the same age all addicts all brunette and within a mile from eacb other. All found the same way, somehow undetermined cause? Serial killer for sure idk how they can’t see that.

found deceased sane area a few months prior

I was looking at missing people and this area of Lumberton NC has a ton of unsolved murders, missing people and the like. I did start to make connections with similar last names and relatives. I should pick it back up. This is a good reminder

That would be a great project, @Spickate -- and it could possibly help LE!
I grew up near that area, and in a couple of little towns there are a number of common last names - most of whom belong to the Lumbee Indian Tribe.
Patterson isn't one of them, but there are several.

Yes so many same last names if you go onto her Facebook. Locklear, hammonds and oddly oxendine ( one victims surname) are just a few to mention on there.

Yes I had many Locklear and Oxendine last names on the list. The odd thing was that many of the perpetrators, suspects or persons of interest in the cases also had these last names. Not sure whether to believe it’s a bunch of in-fighting or something being covered up. All speculation at this point but I have a couple slow weeks at my job upcoming so perhaps I will dig back in.

I grew up not far from Lumberton. The Lumbee Tribe makes up like 40% of the population in Robeson County, and these are all super common Lumbee family names. I would find it more unusual if Abby wasn’t friends with a few of them on Facebook.

Abby Lynn Patterson is one of 20 missing people being searched for by the Lumberton Police Department.

Patterson was last seen Sept. 5, 2017, getting into a brown Buick in the area of East Ninth Street in Lumberton, according to the police department. There is a $10,000 reward for information about the location of Patterson.

Patterson’s mother, Samantha Lovette, manages the Find Abby Facebook page, which has more than 4,900 followers.

As many people celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, Lovette shared an emotional post on the page.

“I have to live every single day of my life not knowing where you are. My heart has never known this kind of heartache and emptiness. I wasn’t ready for you to be snatched from me and then not know what happened,” the post reads in part.

“There are no words for describing the pain I feel, the pain I feel like I have to block in order to go on day to day. The pain I block to keep me from feeling my heart is literally breaking. My faith is strong and I Know God and my love for you will prevail. We will Find you my sweet Abby!!” Lovette wrote.

Lovette told The Robesonian on Monday that she and Patterson, who was 20 when she disappeared, were very close and communicated often before her disappearance. If Patterson’s phone battery died, she would tell Lovette to prevent her mother from worrying.

“The day she went missing she told me she would be back in a hour, that she was with old high school friends and for me not to worry. After a hour had passed her phone went straight to voicemail. Abby left with someone she trusted. Abby’s plan was to come back home that day,” she said.

Lovette said her daughter “loves life and loves making people laugh.” She also described Patterson as a “free spirit” who can light up a room.

“She has a tattoo of 3 black birds on her shoulder and a large, tan birthmark on the back of her left thigh,” according to a post by Lovette on the Find Abby page.

Law enforcement agencies conducted a search in July 2018 in a pond off Alamac Road but did not locate Patterson.

Interviews continue and additional searches are being conducted, according to Lumberton police officials. A search was conducted about one month ago.

“The family members want the same thing (as police do),” Lumberton Chief of Police Mike McNeill said.

“They haven’t given up, and we haven’t given up,” he added.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to assist in the case. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Patterson is asked to call the FBI at 704-672-6100 or the Lumberton Police Department at 910-671-3845.

Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins urges the public to reach out to law enforcement agencies and share any information that can lead to the location of missing people.

“It is imperative that anyone with information on these cases speak up,” Wilkins said.

“Imagine a loved one of yours missing and information was being withheld by someone who refuses to disclose the clue that could solve or locate a missing person. Regardless of when it occurred, our office continues to ask for assistance from anyone that can help solve these cases and bring forth closure to a grieving family. Do the right thing and speak out now,” a statement from Wilkins reads in part.
