went out for drinks with a co- worker and an old friend who was in town

Investigators found Foy's car days later in the parking lot

Hopefully LE has spoken with that old friend from out of town (?)

I notice that most articles refer to the car being found "days later". I know it was a rental, but you'd think when a town/city is looking for a missing person, someone would notice a vehicle left unattended for a long period of time in a parking lot at an establishment where she was last seen. Just pondering that it may not have been noticed because a perp was driving it. (I'm also detecting from reading Lisa's blog that not all persons are being forthcoming or straightforward about times/events at the bar the night Allison disappeared)

Just saw a reference to an Emily Moxley, 27, missing from Wilmington since Sept 29, 2006. Can't find anything else re her disappearance or if she was located.

Thanks for those links sillybilly!

HMMM.....I can't help but wonder if this 'old friend' has been identified. However, after reading some of the comments on Allison's blog, set up by her sister Lisa, it sounds like people have clammed up with coming forward with details. The 'old friend' is the one who allegedly called the cab for Allison. I wish we had details if the old friend left the bar before or after Allison. If before, then that's hinky, IMO. I also wish we knew if the 'old friend' was male or female.

I'll be away from my computer the rest of today but will search for info on Emily Moxley tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your help sillybilly!!!!!!

We've pondered whether disgraced ex-Col Russ Williams could somehow tie into the murders in Wilmington because his bio father lived there. Williams of course was known to be our Prime Minister's pilot.

In the Canadian news lately, it seems Bruce Carson (former Senior Advisor to our Prime Minister) has a connection to prostitutes in North Carolina through a 4 year relationship with a Barbara Lynn Khan, commencing 2006. Ms Khan has a criminal past in the US. Apparently Khan and Carson bought a condo in Ottawa in 2009, just before Carson hooked up with another prostitute, Michelle McPherson. Apparently Khan still resides at the Ottawa condo (a building where some other Members of Parliament stay when they are in Ottawa). Can't seem to find out when their relationship ended (if in fact it did?). Carson and Khan attended a party at our PM's residence in 2008:

Barbara Khan (aka "Essa") and her ex-husband, Saleemudeen (sp?) were involved in the escort biz around the Charlotte and Raleigh areas of North Carolina. Given their business was conducted in Raleigh and Charlotte, i doubt it would exclude Wilmington for any reason.

With Carson being Senior Advisor to our PM, have to wonder if RW every piloted him to NC to hook up with Barbara?

Some of you folks in the Wilmington area might want to snoop around re "Essa". She and hubby ran their business out of an address on "South Main Street", but nothing to indicate which city that is in:

Along with others in North Carolina and Florida, they set up meetings between prostitutes and clients in hotel rooms and elsewhere across North Carolina. They advertised their business pornographic magazines in several states under names including Sugar Shack and Intimate Encounters. The customers paid up to $3,000 per night, federal indictments said.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – An unsolved murder case in New Hanover County is gaining national attention for the second time.

It's been more than five years since Allison Jackson-Foy went missing from Wilmington. Her remains were found in a wooded area along Carolina Beach Road in 2008, along with the remains of Angela Rothen.

Just watched the "Disappeared" episode. Wow, that Iaonne (sp?) guy's mug shot is scary, what dead eyes he has. It is hard to believe that he worked out of and hung out at the same pub she vanished from, and yet isn't involved. I know he passed the LD and they can't find anyone who saw him there that night, or any calls to his phone for a taxi for Allison. But he sure seems to fit the profile, with his charges for a sexual assault and kidnapping of a prostitute. (most of the charges went away, due to the fact that she did not come to court and he only ended up with probation.)

If anyone else watched this show, did you catch what was decided about whether or not a cab was called, or how Allison is believed to have left the bar, since her rental car was left there? That part was a little muddled to me.

What a frustrating case...still no arrest after nearly 5 years...for what seems to be a victim of a serial killer...

On the show they said Allison was too drunk to drive so she agreed to take the cab Chris had called. What isn't clear to me is if LE verified that a cab was indeed called and did pick her up. They couldn't directly link Iannone to having picked her up that night.

The fact that Allison's sister and friend found more of Allison's bones at the dump site after the scene had been cleared really reminded me of the Chandra Levy case.

Such a sad case. It really seems obvious that Iannone is the perp.

I just stumbled across this thread today.

I'm not buying that LE has simply dropped their focus on Tim Ionnone. Just because someone "passed" a lie detector doesn't make them innocent.

Polygraphy has little evidence to support its use.[11][12][13] Despite claims of 90% validity by polygraph advocates,[14] the National Research Council has found no evidence of effectiveness.[12] The utility among sex offenders is also poor[15] with insufficient evidence to support accuracy or improved outcomes in this population.[16]

Allison Jackson Foy went missing eight years ago today. Her body was found two years later. But her sister Lisa Valentino has found keeping cold cases in the spotlight is not easy.

It's been six years since police found the bodies of Foy and another woman in the woods off Carolina Beach Road, but for their families, the nightmare lives on because police still have not found the women's killer. "She was found about 3 1/2 miles from the last place she was seen in a low-lying ditch, and there was another set of remains next to her, those of Angela Nobles Rothen," Valentino said.

Their deaths are among 32 unsolved murders in Wilmington since 1991.

Do they have any suspects?
Wonder what geographic profilers think about this case?

II was unaware of this case until I watched a rerun of Disappeared. This is an incredible case. It sure seems to me that Iannone is a likely suspect in spite of passing a lie detector test. The fact that the women's remains were located near the spot where Iannone had previously attacked and raped a prostitute is a HUGE coincidence if he isn't the killer. JMO

"Family keeps murdered woman’s legacy alive"

http://www.wwaytv3.com/2015/07/29/family-keeps-murdered-womans-legacy-alive/

On the 9TH Anniversary of Allison Jackson Foy’s murder..... her family members have a special request to honor her. Allison Foy, a mother a two, went missing July 30, 2006. Her sister Lisa Valentino and the rest of their family have been at the forefront of keeping her name and legacy alive after her death.

Those who were close to Foy are still coping with the unsolved murder of the mother of two.

“I think it’s a very solvable case. You know sometimes cold cases unfortunately get put on the back burner.”

They probably have the right guy in mind, but sleaze-bags hang out and drink at bars with other sleaze-bags imo, he could have a buddy...
