I was going to say that maybe it was the work of the man who killed the people on that Christmas tree farm in Ashe County, NC, Frederick Hammer. But then I realized he was arrested last year and the murders have continued.

He killed 3 men in that incident and later confessed to killing his nephew, Jimmy Blevins. He led police to his body. He also confessed to killing another man, Timothy Shatley. Most of these were over money. A news story that came on at the time of his arrest said that he claims that he has murdered 17 people, but at the time they weren't commenting further on his claim because the others couldn't be proved. He was sentenced to 7 life sentences earlier this year for the Christmas tree farm slayings.

(This case has fascinated me because my grandmother and my aunt's family live in Ashe County near to this farm.)

I would like to think that they are going to investigate this Rocky Mount case and the above confession with due diligence. The idea that there are/were 2 serial killers that close to home is very disturbing.

I'll be keeping these woman and their families in my thoughts. I hope they arrest the guy they have as a possible suspect soon if he really is a valid suspect.

I posted a few pages back that I thought Denise Williams should be included as a possible victim of the same killer as the other 6 women. I wonder if they are doing any DNA test to check to see if the body that is still unidentified could be one of the still missing women.

Pittman faces murder charges

I am still waiting to see what the evidence is against this guy other than living close to the victims. I also wonder if they have shown his picture to the lady who escaped and see if she recognizes him as the man that threatened to kill her.

I saw a write up in the Wilson (about 20 minute drive south from Rocky Mt), NC paper yesterday... this dude has had plenty of problems with the law before too.

Johnston County personel join search in Edgecombe County.

dgfred, I read also that he was a registered sex offender, convicted of molesting a 2 year old girl and that he was charged with solicitation but the charges were dropped after the arresting officer left the force.
The neighbors are saying they don't believe he is the right guy because he did not have a license or drive a car so he wouldn't have had a way to transport the bodies. I really wish they would say more about this case. I want proof that they have the right guy.

Antwan Maurice Pittman (the murder suspect) doesn't by chance have any ties to Jennings, LA? Just want to make sure.. they never caught theres yet and the victim type is similiar..
