Either that or the NKOTB nightshirt was actually the younger Dedmon girl's at some point.
*Edited for clarification.
I do wonder how the characters in this story add up.

Could the youngest have been with that other character, (Uphill?) in the car that morning/night and used to lure Asha?

I’m starting to wind her how appropriate the relationship was between the 13 year old and the older man.

I don't think anyone here could say with absolute certainty that the family is wealthy or had influence, but given what we know it's a fair assumption. They own multiple properties and Roy reportedly has 29 cars registered in his name. At different points in time they owned and operated multiple care homes as well as a private school. They were certainly prominent people within the town (especially considering Shelby is a relatively small town)
The extended family is large and owns multiple businesses.

The suspects lawyer ain't blaming the Degree's, he's blaming it on the dead guy. He knows which way this is going.
BTW this is a dirtbag lawyer, always has been.....If he sounds familiar he was also Thurman Price's lawyer in the Brenda Sue Brown case.... If he was the last lawyer left I would defend myself before I gave him a penny!

Well the Dedmons sure did themselves a favor hiring him then….. I hope something is found to truly tell us what happened and what their involvement in Asha’s fate is

Russell Underhill resided in two care homes operated by the Dedmons. Does anyone know what type of disability this poor guy had ? He was only 54 when he died. On his obituary it listed accident/ not work

This one?

20 years ago today, Asha Degree disappeared...never to be seen or heard from again. Our host, Saran Almond, went to the location where a 9 year old Asha Degree was last reported to be seen, at the approximate time she was reported to have left her home, and along the route she was seen walking according to police...and walked the route. In addition to the dark, imagine what Asha may have felt in the cold, in the rain, unprotected from the elements, during a power outage, walking down a two lane highway in the early morning hours between 2:30 and 4am...alone.

I do find it interesting that the PCA states the eldest daughter moved evidence when she moved homes. They name the eldest daughter quite a few times. Could this evidence just be the green car itself, or belongings of Asha?
Did anyone else notice too, that at the end of his stating of his qualifying achievements, he specifically mentioned specialized training inm cases involving Murder and 5exu@L Assault? He'd already qualified himself, so why throw those two things in at the end?

From my understanding, it is common for all affiants in criminal warrants to list all their training and speciality if it applies or not.

ETA, implicated training and experience does add to probable cause, so perhaps those things are part of the probable cause?

Maybe that Asha was the victim of a hit and run by the oldest daughter, and the parents helped cover it up.

but didn't they say that witnesses said she was pulled into the car? i take that to mean she was walking and got snatched, but perhaps due to the time of night and weather it wasn't super clear how she was pulled into the car

I am on my toes waiting for updates!!!

I have been wondering if the original timeline was off, misremembered, etc. I wonder if some of the information we do know may be red herrings. I thought about this that if the green car sighting wasn't released until only a couple years ago if the reason it wasn't on the radar previously was because the sighting didn't match the timeline from the family's original recollection of that evening. Like if the green car sighting happened earlier in the night perhaps. I thought about this that if someone in my household went missing if I would be able to correctly recall all the events and times of that night. I have it happen at work where I recall things that happened yesterday like they happened days ago. I haven't seen a timing listed from this sighting only that it occurred where she was last seen but don't elaborate on if it's the highway sighting or near her home. Also regarding the highway sighting, I always found it odd that the police weren't notified sooner. They called after her disappearance was broadcast. There's something about that to me for some reason. Like if you saw a child alone near the highway I'd assume the the majority of people would report that immediately concerned for her safety. I know cell phones weren't as common back then but still there was payphones, and they could CB someone to call the police. I don't know. It just never set well with me. Still, could actually have been Asha but there's something weird there is all.

I also believe the stuff found at the shed could be a red herring. The items aren't personalized enough to have definite conclusion that they were Asha's. I am around the same age and from North Carolina and I could see my Mom identifying those as mine also. Regarding the olympics Atlanta pencil I feel like teachers handed those out to students around that time. I remember the Olympics being a big deal in 1996 and we even had art projects Olympics themed.

I fully believe that the DNA on the trash bag from Russell Underhill is going to be the Dedmon's focus and will be used in court in their defense. How convenient right? Scapegoat a deceased person. It's a shame he isn't around to answer some questions. I think a lot of the DNA was potientially touch DNA like it just determines who had been in the vehicle before Asha allegedly was. And it's role is it that they are a puzzle piece. Just all speculation of course. Can't wait until there is more information!

So all these items were sitting in the empty home for 24 years ?

It sounds like regular things that would be in home from that era….
Only thing standing out is the green car that was mentioned.

But that’s a lot of evidence
I hope it turns into something..
And I also wanna say I’m not blaming the parents but I’m not completely clearing them either. ( my opinion ) a polygraph can be cheated.
two homes and retrement home. three locations

yes they searched ray demons yard. a neighbor saw him once digging a waste deep hole. he also had rooms locked in his home at one time. make the cops think she buried in his yard. they found nothing . no body. not names suspect yet. thy need more proof looks like.

cou
This is such a good point. Underhills dna was just on the outside of the black bag the bookbag was wrapped in - maybe he was asked to dump it. But there has to be a really good reason the youngest daughters dna was on ashas undershirt.
could have come off the night gown. still one older sister could be involved. they drove that road.

Not sure if it's been shared, already, if so forgive me, or if it has any connection but I do find it interesting the article states the facility was criticized by a citizen advisory group and country officials for allegations about poor supervision of residents.
