I don't think that is another car or a cadillac I think it's another ATM machine. I don't think there would be a guy in the back seat if they had a car following them around. That's just my opinion though of course.

From today's Charlotte Observer.
http://www.charlotte.com/112/story/530143.html
We do believe there is a second unidentified male seated in the rear seat," Lt. Kevin Gunter, a police spokesman, said in a news release issued today. "We have been exploring ways to enhance the quality of this photo in an effort to learn more about this person."

Both pictures of the perp at the ATM are posted at the above link.
In the first picture or top picture, you can see the second car and the reflection of the trees on the top of the car, not the hood but the top. (Hope I'm not seeing things.) lol

Another impt bit of info:
The body of Carson, 22, was found in the Hillcrest neighborhood northeast of campus about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday....

Now, I see the second car that you and Les were talking about. I think that Les needs to send her information to the police. It certainly cannot hurt. The second guy could still be in the SUV to control Eve, if she were taken to the bank.

So, I did it. I emailed the captain of the investigative team of the Chapel Hill Police Department!

Apparently, there are not a lot of ATM's in Chapel Hill due to land-use regulations. News reports indicate that the ATM was probably in the area of University Mall, Ram's Plaza or Eastgate Shopping Center because that is where her cell phone was found. A quick search shows that there is a Bank of America ATM at the address of 851 Willow Dr Chapel Hill, NC 27514. If you go to google, and then click on "maps", and put in this address, you can actually get a street view where you can head south west, and see the actual ATM machine at the Bank of America from the street. You can zoom in on it, and move along the street in all sorts of directions. I haven't found the convenience store yet, but I am going to do a bit more looking. Try going to google and seeing if you can see it. I don't think I can provide a link because I tried it, and it just gave me a bunch of code.

Whew! I was hopeing you would do that. I am convinced there is another car there.

And the link below takes you to an early map that the Daily Tar did -- it does not include the cell phone which was dumped by a shopping mall between Chapel Hill and Durham: http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper885/stills/exgbx6wn.jpg

Eve was murdered not far from where she lived. I was curious about her daily habits, if she worked until dawn or if she went to sleep at 1:30 am and then got up and went out. I remembered reading somewhere her friends saying it was not unusual for her to be out and about in the middle of the night working.

Thank you for the link above with the map. It looks like there is a possibility the perp might have had the intention of returning to Ms. Carson's apartment to maybe case the area. Her wallet and keys have not been found correct ? He didn't seem to mind walking into a convenience store without his hood and cap to hide behind and try to use a stolen ATM card, why worry about opening a door with a key ? The vehicle was literally around the corner from her apartment. We now know there were at least two attempts to use her ATM card - money is obviously an issue with the perp in the photos.

Smart enough to leave a woman dead in a neighborhood away from her home, removing her identifying papers and returning her vehicle to near her home. Smart enough to know it may take LE a few days to identify her. Stupid enough to go to an ATM and a convenience store to use a stolen ATM card without really concealing his face, but not exactly bold enough to rob her home ? Too dumb to realize that inserting the card alone records the attempt at a transaction and therefore tracks movement, but smart enough to not attempt to use the card except for one day.

Interesting, there has to be more to this story as LE is requesting help from anyone who may have seen her vehicle.

I attached a "read" receipt to it, and it was just read by whomever. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

Just reading a bit closer from the following:

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/2550588/

"Crime Stoppers received more than 200 calls over the weekend after police released the images, but police have not identified either man, Curran said. Investigators looked at stop-action images from the camera, but they were not clear enough to identify the second man.

Police were still waiting to receive the surveillance tapes from the unspecified bank."

LE is obviously aware and investigating the fact that there are two individuals involved. The second man was also at the convenience store as there appears to be an effort to obtain a usable image of him from the store camera's. They also say ATM boy was the only one in the store when the access to the ATM machine was attempted so it is possible the images of the second man could be from a camera viewing the outside area of the store - vehicle identity possible ? Or the second guy came in later - but why would his image not be clear when ATM boy's is ?

I haven't posted before, but I have been following this case. I am so glad that Lesslegp sent an email to LE regarding the "second vehicle". I also saw the vehicle the first time I saw the pic. I was wondering if the man in the backseat was actually looking at the vehicle, possibly another accomplice? Maybe, Eve was in that vehicle?

You can definately see the nose of the back seat person above the driver's head rest. Does anyone else see the nose?

I am so outraged that these perps took Eve's life with no regard as if it was just throwing away a piece of trash. From all accounts, she was one of a kind and would have greatly contributed to society had she been allowed to live.

I am just counting the minutes/days until these SOB's are behind :behindbar for life. Death Penatly is definately a must here!!

Keep up the good work WS's!!!

Littledeer,

Yes I mentioned earlier in this thread, somewhere that I could make out the nose and it looks like the second perp has a do rag on his head, IMO.

I think it is possible that if he didn't have the right pin number, the machine might have kept the card after a couple of attempts. In that case there might be fingerprints on it. I hope it did, but it might not have.
Just a thought.
