So so Happy they have got home! Finally Lynn and her family will get some justice.

Would love to know how he has been surviving etc without being spotted.

I say he gets the needle.jmo

I wondered when his luck would run out. Now I can mark it on the calendar - August 15, 2012!!

He doesn't appear to be all that smart now.

Justice will be served. Finally!

Just going to throw this out there...
Does anyone think that maybe he was ready for it to be over? He was only 20 minutes from home (sounds like he was working his way BACK to area...) and his looks aren't that altered.
He looks very tired in the booking photo.

I think so too. Maybe he ran out of money?

Summerfield checked into the hotel at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning under the name "Jay Summerfield." He listed an address in Polk, Ohio and a 1999 vehicle for which the writing was not readable. The check-in clerk told Regan that Summerfield did not appear unusual. He wore a T-shirt and jeans, entered alone and requested a smoking room for one night.

Regan described the room as dirty, with a cigarette butt, matches and a wet bath towel all on the floor (as if Summerfield had just showered). The sheets were pulled off the king-size bed, but Regan speculated it could be due to police looking for evidence.

Regan also noted that on the table, there was a box of microwave popcorn, a six-pack of Jello pudding and a box of Pop-Tarts.

The curtains were pulled tight, according to Regan, and the do-not-disturb sign was on a chair.

The hotel said Summerfield checked in at about 8 a.m. Tuesday under the name "Jay Summerfield." The cost per night was $50 and Summerfield paid cash.

Team Justice buttons and white T-shirts with Summerfield’s WANTED poster on the back were visible around the room. While they waited for the press conference to start, wearers crossed out “wanted” and put “captured” in its stead.

Jackenheimer’s stepfather, Raymond Johnson, said he was relieved the two-month affair was finally coming to a close.

“I’m more relaxed,” Johnson said. “Now we can sleep.”

“He’s captured, that was the main thing,” Johnson said. “He can’t come back for my grandson.”

Jackenheimer’s 13 year-old daughter, CS, said she was happy Summerfield had been caught.

CS said she plans to continue her mother’s legacy of kindness that brought together the entire Ashland community.

“I loved her so much,” Sheppard said. “She was a very good person and I know I’m going to be her replacement in helping people.”

“We owe the whole town of Ashland a lot,” Johnson said. “We thank you for everything.”

Johnson was seen hugging every community member that showed up after the conference.

(Marshal Elliot is very handsome)

Haha. I can't argue with you there:) I've known the Elliot family for a looong time (though I haven't seen them in ages). Really hard to find nicer people anywhere. Peter has a reputation here for being an innovator, working well with others, and just plain getting the job done. You can tell from his press conference he doesn't care who gets the credit. It's in his blood - his dad was a U.S. Marshall too. Here's a great article about Elliot Sr.'s years tangling with the mob:

As for Summerfield, it's about time he was behind bars! Gotta love the days when the good guys win. Now it's all about justice for Jackie and her beautiful children.

SO thankful this #^$%^#%% has been caught.

Justice is coming, Lynn. :rose:

Appears he was running on his own without anyone's help...

I can't tell you how happy I am to read this wonderful news!! Way to go LE!

:rose: Justice for Lynn :rose:

“Ever since Nate Summerfield murdered my mother I felt so sad and I’m so glad he’s gonna be found and everything and he’s now either gonna go to the electric chair or go in jail and die,” said Jackenheimer’s daughter, Ciara Sheppard, on Wednesday.* “I don’t care about him, he used me to get to my mother.* I really liked my mom.* I have these people now, I love you mom.”

:) For those who didn't get to see the presser, this is him. BUT, he's not smiling or animated like he was when he was talking today. Magnetic, I would say.

Any body else wonder about this?

'Vickers said she saw a man with a dog come out of room 211, get into a pickup truck and drive away. Seconds later, cops converged upon that room from all directions with guns drawn.'

Is there a helper on the loose?

JMO

Since it is so close to the highway, I think that he was either a LE plant or some unfortunate person who decided to pick up a 'hitchhiker' or 'lost soul.'

Sure seems like there's someone else linked to it. The mysterious guy that left before the arrest and the red truck.
"Motel employees said the red truck Summerfield showed up in was not there when he was arrested inside his room."
Isn't Jay Summerfield his uncle?
If the employee didn't recognize him at check-in, how did he get reported and apprehended 24 hrs later?
