I think the only reason I keep lurking on, and coming back to these missing children threads is the hope that this is going to be the one that doesn’t break hearts. Even when they do make it home alive, while wonderful, it’s never quite enough in the long run because deep down there’s the knowledge they defied the odds & there’ll always be several others that don’t.
