Concealing a death and obstruction make sense for Mariah.
I'm guessing that the other three charges are unrelated?
Well... Earl Krimey is now a suspect and can be sleuthed.
Everyone else is still considered victims until LE says otherwise. :twocents:

It always saddens me when it is a mother's boyfriend.
I was in a similar situation back in the 80's during the televised trial of Hedda Nussbaum and Joel Steinberg (New York City) She was an abused woman who was unable to protect her child and she was held responsible as well.
The trial was televised every day and I was in a very bad situation with my 3 yr-old daughter and watching and listening to this horror is what gave me the absolute courage to run from a really bad situation. I believe it was Divine Intervention for me because Domestic Violence is a very very misunderstood and powerful dynamic. We are only just beginning to realize that the critical phaze for anyone is when one leaves the relationship.
Everyone would think "isn't your child more important"....there is a lot that goes into the making of an abused woman. She didn;t just get struck dumb or even selfish (as one believes). It is a long process and it takes everything you have to get out, stay out and not repeat with a new abuser.
Scariest and most guilt-ridden time of my life but I was extremely numb during it all. It is an auto-pilot reaction (because survival is our deepest need and it looks so contrary to survival when we stay but it is what we believe we can still control;. Leaving is the uncontrollable and unfamaliar and exhausting phaze!! Bless all those in a relationship like this and please bless and understand all those who keep trying to leave!
I later learned this was my crossroads....my mother was not able to make that choice to save me as a child...but somewhere deep down it happened for me and I am eternally grateful for that trial because I knew that would happen to me. My baby would be dead and I would be so numb going to prison. Anger would take years to come.

It is what I suspected, but it breaks my heart all the same. That poor innocent child... I hope they can find her and give this family some peace.

I am guessing that they will add the murder charge once they have cause of death.

Speculation here, but maybe mom really didn't know what happened that night... Just that her baby was missing. Then at some point during the search LE explains the evidence they have makes them believe her daughter is dead? And in that horrible moment she she gives LE every detail she can which in turn led to this arrest?

I imagine they can prove he went out sometime between 11pm-6am the night Mariah went missing, have evidence of a serious accident/possible assault but until they find the body and establish a cause of death there’s not enough for a murder charge. I hope they find Mariah swiftly, not just to bring her home but also to gather enough evidence to proceed with further charges.

I think she knew what happened, her first appeal was more of an eulogy than plea for assistance.

Since they haven’t yet found her body we won’t see murder charges until they have something solid to back it up. IMO the mother knew. I don’t know that she had anything to do with her daughter’s death or disappearance, but I’m guessing she had to know he did something when she couldn’t find her daughter. That makes her a co-conspirator and she could be charged with obstruction of justice and concealment of death as well. Moo

I can't help but think about the alleged rampage Mr. Kimrey enacted upon the windows of the van because nobody left him cigarettes. There is no smoking in NC jails.

Well he got concealing of death, so they may have found her but arent saying yet. Also the mother may have killed her and they havent found her if she took off or is in the hospital and deemed mentally ill. I dont know, I think we have more to come. Any way it's put I think a lot of them are nothing but maggots.
