One thing that keeps coming back to me is "unnatural" death... is there any possibility that Mariah could have gotten into something ~ possibly drugs ~ and accidently overdosed and they didn't want to report that they had drugs in the home? When my son was three, I called Poison Control almost on a weekly basis for advice about the things he had ingested (vitamins, caulk around the windows, etc.)
I just have not heard the term "unnatural death" used so often... so it just makes me think there is something connected to the terminology.

Unnatural death is a category used by coroners or medical examiners and vital statistics specialists for classifying all human deaths not properly describable as death by natural causes. It includes events such as:

accidents
drug overdoses
executions
murders
deaths by misadventure
animal attacks
complications of surgery
suicides
terrorism acts
war acts

Some of those slats are bent in half toward the outside like something went through the window from the inside. Could have been anything.

The warrant was written before they found Mariah's body. I'm just thinking they left their options open as to cause, just know it wasn't natural. That could be because they found her blood.

Something led them to believe this was not an accidental death.

'Unnatural death' would also include accident, right? He might have told them she died of an accident, so they knew it definitely wasn't a natural death, and the term 'unnatural death' would also include assault, murder, etc. Covers everything.

Yes unnatural death covers quite a bit. If it was an accidental death, would't it have been called in right away as such? Or perhaps, Kimrey was covering for somebody else and needed time to decide what to do?

The arrest warrant said Kimrey obstructed justice by "removing Mariah Woods' body from the scene of her death, and did conceal (the) death and body, knowing that (she) died from unnatural causes."

Kimrey allegedly "failed to notify a law enforcement authority of the death of Mariah Woods, and secretly disposed of the dead child's body," according to the warrant.

I've got blinds that look like that. Those cheapo things go quickly, especially if you peek out of them or the cat (or dog) likes to get in the window. Those DO look broken beyond pets or peeking, but who's to say how long they've had them? I haven't heard any mention of pets, but they may have had those blinds (& a pet) at a previous residence. The process of moving the blinds & putting them up at the place could've finished them off if they were already damaged.

I know, I'm always devil's advocate...

Do we know that the BF or bio-mom OWN the trailer, or is it a rental? Somehow, I would assume the latter.

I’m surprised they let her have the kids back with him in the home. Maybe she misled them to think he moved out, and they eventually closed the case?
It's possible. I think he did say that she was untruthful about something and got them back.

I keep coming back to the water. Sherin's father said he put her outside by a tree for punishment. I wonder, if this bf ever said anything about water.

There seems to be a lot of marshy type land, and creeks and streams, off of the main waterways. They managed to focus it down to two areas.

A little info on Shelter Creek. These folks put in at Holland's Shelter Creek Restaurant which is on NC-53, just above Shaw Road.

Earl apparently liked to fish. It's possible he spent a lot of time on waterways and this is part of why they suspected they should look there.

The bio father said they used to have a dog.

Isn't his hearing starting round about now?

Thanks for sharing the photos. There's something on the porch but I can't tell what it is :(

Thanks.

It's possible one of the dressers was left with her body.

I'm clearly seeing a trenched line across the lawn, and it appears the same way on the other side. What would be the purpose of this?
I saw that and wondered if it was shadow from the crime scene tape, but I don't think it is. When you look at the photo from the other side of the trailer that one is a pathway, presumably to the porch.
