As you should know the Sheriff NEVER called me soooo that means I have to get back on the band wagon. LOL Let me add that I got a email today and the Sheriff deparment is going to investigate her case

Was it Sheriff Wardie Vincent? I can tell you that he isn't good for much, but he is a friend of my DH's family. Maybe Teon will talk to him for us?

Yea it was Sheriff Vincent. He has know about this child's case for over a year. He never will return my emails or Phone Calls. Sad to believe that I voted for him back in 98 or 99 for Sheriff. LOL I think they do a good job at the Sheriff department now but come on just because it is a cold case doesn't mean it is impossible to solve. Right?

This is another young girl that went missing from Northampton County after Phyllis Powell did but he has yet to get her info to me.Anyone want to see what you can dig up on this other child that went missing? I can get you her name. Now Phyllis Powell went missing in 1963. She was ruled out as this Jane Doe. NCMEC would like to get her case into there system but you know who will not return any calls. I got tired of fighting so I contacted Rep from NC and HE is pushing this case and will not drop it.

I got 3 bites for newspaper articles for does story. hurrah

===============================

Frustrating work, sometimes.
Could you start a new thread for the other missing child? or children?

As for the sheriff, I do not know the county's circumstances.
It could be a lack of funding, not enough manpower,
focus on other major crimes.
It is hard to think that he does not want to help, more likely
how can he help with what he has to work with.
(I hope.)

On another note, anyone with knowledge of a case can enter the information into NaMus.
I do it with the cases I know well.

Nice to know media is interested.
Maybe if they did an article on
all the missing and seemingly, the lack of attention.

Rep. Wray sent me a email they are going to investigate her case.

Thanks for caring.

This is Christmas Jane Doe's memorial Cross that we will be putting up tommorow. Just waiting for the Sketch of her to come. The Sheriff Department is invesitgaing this as a homicide now. I will take more pictures of it after it is placed. This is the poem I picked what do you think.

Death of a Child
by Sandy Eakle

Sorry I didn't get to stay.
To laugh and run and play.
To be there by your side.
I'm sorry that I had to die.

God sent me down to be with you,
to make your loving heart anew.
To help you look up and see
Both God and little me.

Mommy, I wish I could stay.
Just like I heard you pray.
But, all the angels did cry
when they told little me goodbye.

God didn't take me cause He's mad.
He didn't send me to make you sad.
But to give us both a chance to be
a love so precious .. don't you see?

Up here no trouble do I see
and the pretty angels sing to me.
The streets of gold is where I play
you'll come here too, mommy, someday.

Until the day you join me here,
I'll love you mommy, dear.
Each breeze you feel and see,
brings love and a kiss from me.

Seifsister - I saw you new siggie and it made me tear up.
Never give up, right?

Charley Project lists only ten black female children (10 years or younger) missing during or prior to 1983. None of them are from the North Carolina area.

By the way, I have been indexing all of the nearly 8000 Charley Project profiles on an Excel spreadsheet to make them searchable by gender, age, city, state, and date of disappearance. So far, I have only the females missing prior to 1991, so I was able to pull this list.

Toya Hill and Phyllis Powell has been ruled out. Kelly Staples and Shelia Quinn are being looked at now.

I have a compiled list of all children born in Northampton County NC from 1974-1981 and have been marking out all of the ones I have found still alive. I started with 79 names and I am down to 30 names.

Just a thought - how do you determine whether they are still alive?

If you are screening death records, the Jane Doe may not have been reported dead or even missing (especially if she is the victim of abusive parents). If that is the case, she would be listed among the "still alive".

I figures she probley would not be reported dead but after I have done all I can do I will turn the list over to the Sheriff for him to find the others.
