NC - Shaniya Davis, 5, Allegedly sold by mother 11/10/09 #14

We don't have a theories thread, so I am going to write a book.
PLEASE poke holes in this if you can. I mean that, I want answers.

Shaniya goes for a weekend visit with the creature that gave birth to her. October 9th through October 11th, was the stated plan. (Not getting into whether her father intended to leave her there or not.) During that weekend, she is harmed, either by negligence or sexual assault. Creature decides that Shaniya won't go home, either because the damage is visible, or because she would tell. So creature comes up with the idea to call aunt and tell her that she is changing her mind, the discipline thing just happened to be the reason she used.
At this point, the creature realizes she has an asset here. Whatever happened to Shaniya on the original visit didn't kill her, so why not use it to feed her habit? That was when she started pimping out her child. I believe that Coe and BD knew about this, them at the least. Until Monday night, when someone (McNeil) asked for something that even creature couldn't justify. She told him no. And he flipped. At 3 a.m. he dumps the blanket and takes Shaniya.
Took Shaniya, which in this theory, would have been a show of power. (At this point, you need to know that not all child rapists are true pedophiles, some of them are your classic power-control rapists, that choose children because it gives them complete power.) McNeil tells creature exactly what he is going to do, right down to the hotel. ANd he sticks to it, further proof of his control. Shaniya doesn't look afraid...why? Because she was told this is what all little girls do at her age?Because she's been drugged for weeks to make her compliant? Because she was told she had to do this to prove she was a good enough girl to go home? Who knows?
He didn't worry about the cameras, no one would ever have a reason to see them, he thinks, creature wouldn't call the cops, he thinks. How could she, without telling them that she was pimping her daughter. But she does, after taking the time between 3 and 7 am to get the drugs and other people (I'm sure there were others) out of the trailer.
She tells the cops her story, which has hink written all over it, and LE calls her on it. She has to go down or point a finger, realizes that she will never be seen as an innocent party, and knowing that if she fingers McNeil, he will finger her back, she points at Coe. He gets arrested. Then the call comes in from the hotel, they figure out they have the wrong guy...and let him out, arresting McNeil when he turns himself in. McNeil turns himself in, thinking he can convince LE that creature gave him the kid, never betting that she would tell them why she had given Shaniya to him in the past. But she did tell.
I'm betting there is evidence from the hotel room that proves he killed her or at least assaulted her. He is now trying to save his butt by giving the location of the body...but stalling further by not telling them where he killed her or how. Creature doesn't know, so she can't throw anyone more under the bus.

Now, please rip that apart. It would be greatly appreciated.

was under the impression that momster had been having occassional visits (1 or 2 days) with Shaniya over the years and that this visit was also only supposed to be for a weekend. It is my impression based off statements from bio dad and aunt that mom asked for a bit longer with daughter via phone call. It would be interesting to see if dad or paternal aunt actually spoke with Shaniya at that time.

All interviews and coverage I have seen (aside from NG who is forever mistating and misquoting for her own sensational benefit on tv program) suggest that she was not "shipped off" to mom or new HIV daddy in the manner which you are suggesting.


This is what I'm having a hard time understanding. If that were the case then why was she withdrawn from school in Oct. I would think that the Aunt who was listed as the guardian on school records would be the only one who could authorize this?

Thank you for your post of earlier. I do not mean to come across as a cheerleader for bio dad, I just want to save my anger and my outrage for those I feel are more culpible in this tragedy. I do not pretend to know anything about the bio dad other than what I have gleaned from here and press coverage. I simply feel that if the father made mistakes, he is paying for them right now in a way that none of us could ever make him pay. I also want to make sure that my venom is reserved that two main POSs in this sick, depraved scenario.

Question....how far from the ..gulp...hotel is the dump site ??? I think it's less than 7 miles...right? IMO she was killed somewhere along the way. What jurisdiction would that be?

Well I believe it would fall in Lee County ( Sanford) as to where she was dumped and of course last seen, but because she was taken from Cumberland County ( Fayetteville ) There in lies the problem...I think..:waitasec:

I want to know if Shaniya just did not go back to kindergarten or was she withdrawn by an adult? If she was withdrawn by an adult, then Aunt Carey was listed as the guardian at the school so did she withdraw Shaniya? What's up with this? I could have sworn the lady at the school said she was 'taken out of school' on October 11th.

Brad was also 28 at the time, his wife was murdered and he had four kids to raise by himself without a mother for them. I want you all to understand this, he saw how much his children missed having a mother and when Shaniya was born he hoped her mother would rise to the occasion and try to be a mother to Shaniya. He did that for Shaniya. The mother was not someone he picked up in a bar, she was a former babysitter of his kids. They had a very, very brief encounter and Shaniya was made. Brad loved Shaniya and always was protective of her, but he wanted her to also feel she had a mother, unlike his older children. Please, stop your judgements till you've walked in someones shoes.

I am not going to poke holes however, my theory runs along yours for a while and then alters halfway thru.

I believe you are right on the money up until the point where Monday night/early tuesday morning.

MAM was given persmission to use the child in exchange for crack. Momster gets the rock in her hot little hand and delivers Shaniya to living room couch then retires to the backof the trailer to use the crack. While she is in the back MAM is either too rough with her or she soils herself from fear. MAM decides he has to get the kid out of there before a) momsters has a change of heart or b) someone else interupts. He takes child to hotel. Not knowing whether hotel room was booked by MAM that morn or prior is a loose end I wish was tied. Child either dies from internal tearing injuries (I refuse to be more sepcific as you all know what I mean) or is intentionally murdered and dumped alongside road. Momster meanwhile figures out kid is gone and in a panic (how will I explain this?) mom calls 911.

It is either that or momster is well aware that serious internal damage has been done and insists MAM get rid of her/evidence si MAM disappears to hotel to try to convince little girl to keep her mouth shut, clean her up, and when he hears the amber alert go out he knows he needs to kill/dump the girl as momster has panicked and reported her missing.

She could have had supervised visitation at the home where Shaniya lived. Shaniya didn't need to visit her drug addled possible HIV infected fetus carrying egg donor in her broken down DSS involved felony criminal acquaintance surrounded & inhabited trailer. Sorry. Nope. No matter how much I want to say otherwise, no matter how much I want to say it's great the father is so forgiving - I sure wish more people were like that - Shaniya is dead b/c of this fatal error.

If a child is playing in the driveway and hiding behind a car, the car driver gets in the car not realizing the child is behind the car, the child is backed up and ridden over & dies in the process...Since it's the driver's responsibility to look before driving, it's a crime of vehicular manslaughter. Unintentional as it may be, no matter of it being an accident or not, it's still sometimes punishable by law b/c it could have been prevented. Even if no monitary punishment is awarded as a penalty, the record of having vehicular manslaughter will be with the defendant for the rest of his/her life...it's not something that can be expunged.

I mean no disrespect, only trying to explain.

The spokesman thanked everyone and stated they can't push for murder charges until they know where the murder would have occurred. That was it. No Q and A, no info. Just stalling and fluff.

I have to say that my thinking is that this entire cruel, despicable plan was concocted and created by AD and MAM... I think that AD knew what MAM was going to do and she called 911 after he left with little Shaniya and 'fumbled her way through that ridiculous story' trying to essentially blame little Shaniya for leaving (though the door was locked..:waitasec. I think AD knew EVERYTHING... and was going to blame Coe because my thinking is he would be released for lack of evidence. The way he appeared in court, his demeanor was 'disbelief' that he had been arrested...as opposed to MAM (smirk on his face) and AD (scared and somewhat frightened for herself.. and showing no remorse for her child). These freaks have been through the system before. I think this was planned out by MAM and AD went along with it for the money... my opinion is that MAM has some money from illegal activities and AD pimped out and sold Shaniya willingly for money. JMO

She got pregnant o Shaniya when she was 19 and gave birth at

I want to know this too! If she was withdrawn someone signed the paperwork to withdraw her! Who, when, and why?

If she just didn't show up I don't think the school would use the word withdraw.. the school needs to barf up some answers.. unless they made a booboo and are cya right now (ie, shaniya simply quit coming to school and they didn't follow up on it??? just a thought)

I do feel bad for the father, but my opinion of him is changing. He never should've let Shaniya go live with the momster. No one checked out the living conditions. No one knew she was taken out of school, even though the aunt was listed as the contact person at the school. No one called LE, CPS, etc. when the momster said they would never see Shaniya again. This could've been avoided. Poor Shaniya.

IMO Carey was duped by Brad into taking Shaniya on what Carey thought was going to be a weekend visit, hence the two days worth of packed clothes. Brad had already had conversations with momster that he was turning Shaniya over to her so that "she could have a chance to be a mother". Carey had no idea that Shaniya was leaving for an extended stay or I'm sure she would have raised hell. I really feel sorry for her.

None of us knows yet and maybe we never will, but I just have this feeling that the feces were from the sewage backup. He put the blanket on her when taking her out, noticed the smell (it could have brushed the porch as they were leaving), and tossed the blanket. It's possible that the 3am sound had nothing to do with this case. If it did, he left earlier than 5:30 am obviously.

The images of her in the hotel don't seem to me that she had already been raped, especially rectally. She just looks trusting and curious, poor baby.

This is my opinion and it can change as more info comes to light.
