I am not sure if this is allowed, I will delete if not. this is a comment from the story on shaniya on WRAL news. The person just registered so I assume it is a new poster. take it FWIW....

Just so everyone will know she is a black women and she is only 22 years old. She is most likely scared to death and has no clue what to do but be cooperative with the police. I just hope whoever got this little girl will return back safe soon so she can go be with a family that really can take of her.

If mom is only 22 - then she was 17-18 when she had Shaniya?

How old does bio dad look to ya'll?

Trying to catch up on all that's happened on this case. Wow! I wish I could say differently, but I don't have a good feeling here...not at all. And they haven't yet 'cleared' the mother? Or has that changed too since last night? You may have discussed that & if so, I missed it.

Praying for a miracle for Shaniya and she's found soon, safe and sound. :praying:

OT: Your Lewie is so adorable! :)

Her name has been spelled both ways hasn't it?????
I see it in the article linked below spelled Antwanette.

Snipped:

Police were called to the little girl's home just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. The girl's mother, Antwanette Davis, told investigators she put her daughter on the couch around 5:30 a.m. and noticed her missing an hour or so later.

heck, I dont know at this point I am just as confused as I can be.LOL i thought I had her pegged from MS the other night, but that girl also has a page on some sort of bisexual friend finder and I made the mistake of assuming it was her. I am just looking in every direction for a clue, I guess, as I know many are.

Sure based on MS pages comparisons the bio mom is the black lady in purple/pink garb - here is a screen shot:

Is that MS page you refer to the same one from which you got the photo of the little girl? That little girl did not look like Shaniya to which is why I ask. But you now think the mother is a match to the MS as well? Just trying to make sure that I have this straight.

What location does the MS page give? I looked earlier and couldn't find anything that I thought was a likely match. I will have to look again.

Regarding the MS page, I found the obit for Antwanette's (mom or not????) mother she has on that MS page. I don't think we can post obits tho.

Anybody else care to speculate as to why we've seen nothing further this afternoon re McNeill's court appearance...

This situation is infuriating. First the arrest a man that they claim was "seen" taking Shaniya away from the mhp, then he is released the next day. Then they show pictures of Shaniya at a hotel with this other man, and arrest him. He admits to taking Shaniya, but she wasn't with him when he was arrested. We have no idea what we are looking for. No descripition of a car that he was last seen driving, so maybe we can ascertain where he went after the hotel. No mention if we should be looking for a "live" Shaniya or if we should be volunteering to scour the woods in Sanford, NC. Meanwhile this man is sitting in a warm and toasty cell, and Shaniya is god knows where. The only reason to hold back this information is for their "case" against these people. Screw your case, can we please locate Shaniya. She was last seen Tuesday am, this is Friday.

IMO, nope.

After delving further I am going to agree. The DOC record I posted is the 37yr old. She is from Wayne County, prob. Goldsboro, that's a pretty good ways from Fayetteville. I don't think it's her. And I am not so sure the lady in the scrubs is her either. I think she is prob. fairly young.

i have a stupid question the mom's name is Antwantette (something) Cox Davis. I was thinking Cox was the maiden name, but now it appears Davis is. Do people give their children two last names? I have never heard of that, but I'm in the great state of Texas.
just wondering

I know plenty of people who got their mother's maiden name as their middle name.

Thank you. I saw it spelled there in that form, and see it spelled in the other form more. Perhaps the reporters were viewing that MS page.

This will all be resolved when the photo of Shaniya's mother surfaces.

How old is the father? Is the son his?

I saw comments to the effect that Coe was the father of the baby on the ABC news story from last night re the hotel development. Not sure whether that was true as the person also referred to the child as "unborn."

Yes, I guess we can't say for sure now one way or the other right??? lol

I just wish someone would find her.

Fayetteville Police received information on Wednesday night, November 11, 2009, that a man had Shaniya in his arms at a hotel in Sanford, North Carolina (about 45 minutes from where the child went missing). Cops say someone at the hotel called police after recognizing Shaniya’s photo from the news. Police went to the location to check the surveillance, but the man and Shaniya were already gone. Police released still photos from the surveillance camera of a man by the name of Mario McNeill carrying little Shaniya near an elevator on Tuesday morning, November 10, 2009 at 6:11 a.m. Right now, investigators are not saying McNeill’s connection to child or her family.

Cops say McNeill and Shaniya were only at the hotel for one hour before leaving the location. Earlier today, November 13, 2009, at an undiscolsed location, police were able to track down McNeill. He was arrested and charged with First-Degree Kidnapping. The problem is, investigators still don’t know where the child is.

(bbm) The same fears and doubts plague me--re Shaniya's welfare--I really share your frustration nnglas... I wish I felt more patience and maybe I'm naive, but at this point I have to believe LE will always put the child's wellbeing first.
