I am from Havelock/new bern area it is about 20-30 miles give or take. About 30-40 min drive time. This case has been wierd not much being said about it around here.

Possible activity such as the Ex's cell phone pings?
So incredibly sad. I am thinking it is her since police seem to have been lead there.
Is this one of her relatives?

Thomas said investigators came to the area Friday morning on a tip that Swindell might be there. That's when they found a decomposed body in the home.

He says they are interviewing people of interest in the case.

Was more than one person involved? I really hope that the Ex was not involved in this. It is bad enough that 2 little babies have lost their mommy. I have 2 small kids of my own so this one really hits me hard.........

Her ex's parents did have a house out there they have since moved but that was his neighborhood growing up.
 
Pretty sure it was her. I looked at one of her friends and one made several posts today about being heartbroken and sending prayers to Summers family.
 
In a statement issued by Thomas late Friday, he said Ballance reported to police that Swindell “left her residence under unusual and out-of-character circumstances, accompanying a male subject in a dark colored SUV.”

“That report remains unsubstantiated, despite extensive law enforcement work,” Thomas said.

Thomas would not name any suspects, only stating that there were several “persons of interest” involved.

It looks like something might have happened in February, maybe a custody battle, that seems to be when he started over doing the father of the year posts. And fwiw I don't think the divorce was his idea,. I don't think I know even one ex-husband that keeps pictures of his ex-wife on his FB, at least not to the extreme this guy does. Just weird to me.
 
The posts are a bit odd to me too. He could have been the smothering type when married. Wonder if the kids are still in his custody or if a family member has them. I am still hoping he is innocent for the kids' sake. Wasn't it posted before that he has a prior record or am I imagining this? My gut still says that she was going to try and move the kids out of state. Just thinking out loud here.
 
There might have been an SUV, that someone hired to come get rid of her iykwim.

It's a short distance but why travel that far to get rid of her with his 2 kids in the car? That seems a little less father of the year and a little more morbid & sick to me. Idk I guess stranger things have happened!!!

Maybe familiar territory,? someone above wrote that he grew up in that area or his parents owned a home there previously, I don't know, but that would be my guess too, also the children are very young, they wouldn't be able to tell much, maybe the older one was the one with a tip, I don't know, but his fb has been VERY suspicious to me from the start.
 
The video here says house in such bad shape they have to go through the roof to remove the body. The address I come up with that makes the most sense is 550 Washington Post rd, new bern nc, abandoned "business" "house". SO SAD!!

It is at the entrance of Lake Tyler neighborhood. One can tell they are on a main rd, with the traffic and the brick entrance sign to Lake tyler,house adjacent to (43) that is also known as Washington post rd. Back of house borders Lake Tyler dr.

If they had to go through the roof then I'm wondering how did someone get the body in there in the first place?
