Police said Adam Baker also faces bad-check charges, but is not being arrested while he assists police. "At this point, he's doing what we ask him to do. If we need him to do something, he shows up," said Clyde Deal, Hickory's deputy police chief. Deal said other searches have been conducted, but the warrants have been sealed and no details are being released.
Police said earlier this week that no one outside the girl's immediate family had reported seeing her for nearly a month. But Deal said Thursday that another witness had come forward to say they had seen Zahra in mid- to late September.

You might want to edit. You can link to facebook and point people in the direction (time/date of post and paraphrase) of the comment but you can't copy and paste comments from FB. It's against TOS. IIRC

I guess I am not easily flatened either but I have to say, this one is real scarey. I find myself hoping it is but a nightmare.

I am trying to reconcil how one sheriff says he doesn't believe AB and and another one does...

The saying is not a good one - 15 years proves it is not true.

First off, I want to say that this case has me chilled to the bone. Zahara was a beautiful girl... The thought of harm coming her way just makes me feel horrible.

If/when CPS came to the house I would guess they would have spoke with Z. It seemed as though (for some strange reason) Z was very fond of EB even through the abuse. If there weren't any signs of abuse (bruises and such) and Z wasn't talking I doubt there is anything they could have done, unfortunately.

Not sure if this has been touched on at all, but when I read about EB possibly dealing painkillers (BB saying she was addicted to them & EB was her drug dealer) my thoughts to explain her recent weight lose would be heroin. A lot of heroin users begin with prescription drug abuse. MOO, of course.

BBM: Keep in mind that children who live in an abusive home do have a deep love and loyalty to their caregivers (using that term loosely!) because that is the only reference they have to a normal homelife. I would imagine that this is the case with Zahra especially due to the fact that she was isolated from friends, family, playmates. It's my opinion that DCS should know this about abused children and utilize other methods than merely the appearance that the child is happy to come to a conclusion that the child is in danger.

Looks to me like no real activity on those sites. Almost as if SM was seeking something, a connection, something. No friends, no updates, just a lonesome lil gothfairy flitting about looking for some sort of contact, connection. (PLEASE PLEASE hear the sarcasm there!)

She doesn't seem to have been successful tho, IMO, even the crazy world of the internet sensed something "off" about her. Too bad AB didn't :( Or maybe he is just as off as she is and like attractged like. I guess time will tell the tale.

Good cop, bad cop? It is a nightmare Charlie, we gotta make some changes...it happens way too often. People have to get involved, quit making excuses. ooops....almost got on my soap box didn't I?

Of all the memes to come along in the past decade, that's probably one of the stupidest ones. Oooo... such a rebel.

Aah.. sounds to me like EB at some point convinced AY to get pain meds [for her to sell] from his (or some other) doc by making excuses.. to the point that a note may have gone into his medical records labeling him as showing addictive patterns and blacklisting him from obtaining any more pain meds (probably the narcotic types especially).

Another possibly noteworthy comment on EB's profile..
