Since Dassey's statements are almost all useless because of what the police suggested, I've been trying to go thru all his statements and see what he brings up on his own and doesn't fit the narrative investigators are going with, especially if he brings it up repeatedly. These are the most likely to get close to the truth, IMO.
One thing I see mentioned in nearly every interview (sometimes at prompting of investigators) is Chuck. He is one of the few things Dassey mentions w.o prompting, when he insists they took "Chuck's route" to dump the RAV4, even when investigators try to walk it back. When asked if Chuck saw the RAV4 being hid, Dassey says "probably" He later brings up something about seeing Chuck and Steve the day of or after the murder (will check my docs when I get home) in the garage together discussing something and working on a car. He is quickly steered back on track and told he didn't see whatever car he saw them working on in the garage, and led to place the RAV4 back in the garage. If he is asked questions about what Chuck knows or what he thinks Chuck knows, are usually given an "I don't know" or some variation, which he rarely uses.
This is done to a lesser extent w. Earl, but Dassey isn't the one to bring him up and he has virtually nothing to say about him. I don't think Dassey was present when the vehicle was dumped, and prior to re-reading the 2/27 statement I assumed he just reported back info about the car that was public knowledge, but Chuck's route was a detail introduced by him that he was adamant about. I wonder if someone in his own family told him something, or if family members questioned his knowledge.
Just thought I'd mention this since the subject of others on the property with opportunity has been mentioned repeatedly, and almost everyone seems to be in agreement that Dassey's confession was coerced and he's likely innocent. I'll find the specific sections where Dassey makes these comments when I get home.
Anyone know how well the alibis of Chuck, Earl, Tadych, and the Dassey brothers were checked, if at all? JMO, but if Steven is innocent, the real killer is someone on that property.
